The Welcomed C/Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

Setting: The Cafeteria, afternoon-ish.
Format: Starts in prose, but I'm fine with switching to brackets.
Summary: HOT DAMN THEY GOT COFFEE IN THE CAFETERIA NOW
Warnings: Fluff-mush, some mildly suggestive flirting, maybe mild swearing depending on who shows up and how things go.

Shoutarou's been busy doing exploring and research for nearly a month, as well as dealing with an eccentric British man taking up residence in his room and replacing Fletcher. The Doctor is a great fellow, but Shoutarou does miss the boy. He does hope he's okay, where-ever he wound up...

However, he would worry about that later. It was time to put the business aside for a bit - he had yet to follow up on Francisca's offer in the library, so in an effort to make it up to her, he had invited her to the cafeteria for coffee.

There was coffee in the cafeteria now.

Finally.

Screw all the other food, Shoutarou makes a bee-line for the coffee as soon as he finds out they have it. It apparently took him ten days to notice. Let's say that the habit of no coffee took root after a full month here, and took root pretty deep.

Once said coffee was acquired, Shoutarou finds an empty table to sit at, notebook out for later writing and looking-over,

"No, no it is not," he answers with a smirk.

He raises his eyebrow at the comment, and takes a drink from his own mug. "Eh? It's not the best I've had, but it's certainly passable, especially compared to what my chief would make..."

The nose stays wrinkled a second longer before smoothing out. "If you ever find yourself back in your world, Shou, you must visit France and have some proper coffee. It is simply divine~"

Shoutarou chuckles, then tilts his head for a moment, considering it. "Perhaps, perhaps - I'm not terribly picky when it comes to it, though."

Francisca clucked her tongue and gave him an arch look. "I see I will have to educate you on appreciating coffee and other delicate things." She ruins the look by smiling teasingly though, and the way she strokes the rim of her coffee cup is more seductive than absent.

He grins back, just as teasing. "I'm a fast learner, but I'm also set in my ways on some things, so a few things may require...additional lessons."

She purrs, "I'm strict~"

"Are you, now?" There's a bit of a leer in his grin.

"Indeed I am - if we were at my place, I have..." Leers and continues, "Certain 'disciplinary' tools~"

There's a momentary pause as Shou's eyes widen. He's not sure what to think of this prospect. He's intrigued, but unsure.

Francisca laughs and teases, "Aw, are you afraid of petite moi~?"

He smirks, straightening up. "Of course not, my dear."

She smiles - just a bit predatorially - and pets his cheek. "Good, because I wouldn't want you running away before I'm done playing~"

He is totally cougar bait by this point. xD

That smile makes him chuckle. "Well, not something I've encountered before, but I am intrigued."

He's up against the mother of all cougars >3

Her hand moves so a finger can lightly tap his lips. "It's good to keep an open mind on such matters~ Take it from one with much experience."

He reaches up, grabbing that hand with a bit of a smirk. "Well, well, one thing at a time, my dear."

She tilts her head and strokes the finger along his lips, coy smile forming on her own. "Of course. After all, there is a time and a place for everything... and I get the feeling not all occupants of the tower would appreciate their meal with a show, non?"

And I got this icon batch done just in time...

After a few moments of that finger on his lips, he takes her hand in his own, then looks rather thoughtful.

"...come to think of it, I don't really recall any real private areas in this place."

...and now his mind goes to detective mode, thinking over this, going over the building's layouts in his mind.

She chuckles and answers flippantly, "Our keepers probably believe that privacy is overrated, so we should embrace the lifestyle of exhibitionism~"

Shoutarou shakes his head a bit, digging out his notebook and finding a blank space to scribble down on one of tha pages that served as a to-do list that this merited investigating.

Then he realizes what Francisca said, then chuckled, though it's a rather icy one. "I doubt it's something so innocuous."

Francisca noticed the note added to the to-do list and fought the urge to laugh, lips twitching nonetheless.

At Shou's cold laugh she frowns and reaches out to poke his cheek. "As do I, but until they start acting openly hostile, it is better to at least pretend at complacency... At least until we are assured of an escape."

The poke and the ones bring a sigh out of him. "Well, you've seen me try and pretend to be something I'm not - I'm not very good at it." A pause. "But I will do what I can, and try to not be too intrusive with my investigating. I wouldn't want to be the cause of any ire towards us."

"You are thinking too hard and worrying far too much than is healthy when you have just had coffee for the first time in a long time," she scoffed, moving her chair around so she was now next to him. Truth be told, she was always on her toes now in this cursed tower, but that didn't mean she couldn't unwind and try relaxing just a bit - something that Shoutarou clearly needs to do as well, she decides as she firmly turns his head so she can kiss him square on the lips.

"Hey, I'm jus--" Shoutarou finds himself cut off by Francisca, in a situation that's terribly reminiscent of their library encounter - sans falling books. There's several seconds where he stays tense, but he finally relents, shoulders slumping as he does relax, finally, and reciprocates the kiss.

Francisca smiles against his lips when she feels him relax and rewards him by deepening the kiss and letting it last as long as she could without suffocating the two of them. When she finally broke away she licked her lips and grinned. "I stand by my claim that you taste good with coffee."

Once Shou can breathe again, he grins, adjusting his tie a bit. "...I believe I'll have to reconsider my hesitation if French coffee is anything like that."

And he'll have to reconsider his heavy focus on work, if just for her. If it provides her some degree of happiness while they're trapped here, then it's definitely worth it. Not that he didn't enjoy it as well, but he's got a terrible habit of putting others before himself.
