Characters: Tetra ([personal profile] stop_calling_me_zelda) and anyone nearby
Setting: Room 1-19 and everywhere ever
Format: Anything goes
Summary: A pirate wakes up in a weird tower and then gets pissed that she can only find her dress in her trunk
Warnings: None, aside from an eleven year old that can be a little mocking? I'll change if anything happens.

[Room 1-19]

That was probably one of the most terrifying moments of her life. Legitimately terrifying. Waking up unable to move and feeling like she couldn't breath. Not knowing where she was but knowing exactly where she should be. She should be with Link. In Hyrule. Helping him kill Ganondorf.

Oh Goddesses, could he win without her using the Light Arrows to distract the Gerudo??

Tetra tried to swing herself into a comfortable position, to her arms or anything moving. When the sleep paralysis finally wear off, Tetra instinctively sucks in as much air as her lungs can hold...

And ends up throwing herself off her bed with a very loud THUMP! The jumpsuit was... Well, it was too tight and suffocating. she felt like she could hardly move it in. How was she supposed to run or jump or do anything in it? And then she spotted the letter. She tore it open without a second thought and read it over.

And read it again.

And then once more before crumpling it up with a snarl and throwing it. It was a lie! King Daphnes had wished on the Triforce to give them hope! The goddesses would never go back on a wish like that. The legends said that they had to grant the wish of whoever touched the complete Triforce. The goddesses would never destroy an entire world like that. Hyrule, yes but not their entire world. She still wasn't relaxed though, so she walked over to where the crumbled note had landed and stomped on it a couple times.

Now she felt better. Good enough to go and explore that chest of hers. She actually ended up throwing it open so fast, it almost slammed back shut on her fingers. Trying again, she looked through the top layer (ignoring the pink dress sitting pointedly on top) and tried to find her clothes... Nothing.

Dress it was then. Ew. Better than the jumpsuit though. Anything was better than the jumpsuit. Even better was the necklace that sat on top of it. A golden triangle with a piece missing out of it, an heirloom her mother had told her to guard with her life. Well... How in Din's name had that gotten there? Not that she was complaining, she felt better with the weight of it around her neck. And she felt even better when she hooked her dagger around her waist.

No, it didn't match the dress. No, she didn't care. Now she was dressed and armed, time to explore.

[Everywhere else]

Anyone passing will find a small tan child in a pink dress wandering around. She walking pretty casually, no matter how formal and gussied up she might look. She hates this dress with a passion. Thank the goddesses that she hadn't put on those stupid gloves or the tiara. Yuck.

[He nods. He figured as much.]

Um... "It"? [Which... it does she mean...]

Oh. I guess I can. We should go somewhere to sit, though. It's a long story...

[Let's go... sit... somewhere... private. Anywhere nice and quiet. Once they get settled, he fidgets a little bit before speaking.]

So, um... What do you know? Of the story.

[--ooookay, she didn't answer his question. However, she asked some of her own, so that's a starting point. He nods.]

Yeah. More times than I can count. Sometimes it was just... fast. Everything would go white, and then the next thing I know... [He looks at his hands.] I'm grown-up. [Except... not really. But she's looking for heroics, not truth, so. He won't say that.] Other times, it felt like the world was spinning around me, over and over until things were... [He doesn't know how to put this.] Back.

Spinning things don't make me sick, though. I guess I'm lucky.

[... um...] Any other questions?

[Something sinks in Link's stomach. Maybe it's the memory of how it all began. Maybe it's thoughts of his forest, his friends, his life before being a hero. Maybe it's the assumption that he wanted what happened. ... well. The only way to fix that last part is to tell her the truth, so that she really does understand. And how many opportunities does he get to tell people his story?]

No... That's not how it went at all.

[He takes a deep breath.]

I grew up in the forest with the Kokiri. I don't know if you know much about them, but they're children forever, and they all live working together in the forest, and each one has a fairy partner. I was the only one who didn't have a fairy. [He manages to stop himself before he explains how hard that was for him. Maybe she'll understand without him having to tell her.] I wanted one more than anything...

I started having weird dreams. I didn't understand what they were about, but I didn't like them. Some of them weren't too bad, but others were really scary. One day, I woke up from a bad dream and there was a fairy in my house. She introduced herself as Navi and said the Great Deku Tree -- that's the father of the Kokiri and guardian of the forest -- sent her to be my partner, and that he wanted to see me.

My friend Saria was really excited for me, because it's an honor, and I finally had a fairy of my own. But the forest had been dangerous lately, so the leader of the Kokiri, Mido, wouldn't let me through to see the Great Deku Tree. [... okay, so Mido's a bully, but whatever.] Not until I got a sword and shield, anyway. So I went and bought a shield from the village store, and then I found the Kokiri Sword, and Mido let me past.

The Great Deku Tree told me that there was great evil rising in Hyrule, and that... that he'd been cursed, and he wanted me to break it. [Dost thou have courage enough to undertake this task?] After I broke the curse, he told me that an evil man was responsible for it. He was after the Kokiri's Emerald, because it would help him find the Sacred Realm. He told me the story of the Golden Goddesses, how they created Hyrule and left behind the Triforce... and that this man should never get it. He said to seek out the Princess of Destiny, and he gave me the Kokiri's Emerald. Then... he...

So for the first time... I left the forest. Even though the Kokiri weren't supposed to leave it, because they would die if they did. I thought then that I was safe because the Great Deku Tree said I could go...

[... Mido... blamed him for what happened. How could you do a thing like that?! It's all your fault! Saria...]

Just before I left, Saria gave me her ocarina. [Link reaches inside his bag and withdraws the Fairy Ocarina to show her. He's always carried it with him. Always.] And then... I went to Hyrule Castle Town. And that's how it started.

I didn't really have a choice. I was the one able to leave. I was the one the Great Deku Tree chose, and the one he entrusted with the Kokiri's Emerald.

[That... makes him happy. To think that his home and people are still alive in that time, at least in some way. He nods.] Later, I found out that there's a Great Deku Sprout... Maybe that's the Tree in your time.

[Is there a difference between being brave and doing what is necessary? Link isn't sure. He certainly doesn't ever feel courageous.

He lets himself smile a little.]
I think I'd like that.
