[Eridan had been understandably shaken when Estelle had left a few days ago. She hadn't pushed it then, mostly because he'd already been through enough and he didn't need a stranger prying, but it would have been a lie to say she wasn't very worried. The healing had gone well, at least, but a part of her felt guilty about not being able to restore his arm, as ridiculous as that might be. So she'd waited as long as she could manage before finally deciding to pay him a visit. She'd made him food and everything, and she balances the tray on one hip as she knocks on his door.]

[Polite he can handle. Oh yes, definitely. Eridan's smile grows a touch as he ducks his head.]

Ah, thanks. Do--

[He shrugs a bit, awkward. Because talking in the doorway seems rude but maybe she's in a hurry? She's holding up a tray and all.]

Do you want to come in?

Yes, please! Thank you very much.

[Why is he so nervous? Is she intimidating?

Estelle sets the tray down on a table and glances back at him.]

Do you like clam chowder?

[chronomancer]

[Nah, his crush on her is though. Kind of impressive. Eridan steps out of the way, then blinks at her as she moves.]

Clam chowder?

[He headtilts at her a little.]

I don't... think I've ever tried it?

Oh!

[THIS IS EXCITING THEN.]

I think it's very good. Would you like to try it?

Oh.

[He shrugs at her.]

Sure.

[selenic]

[She nudges the tray towards him slightly, then steps back.]

How are you feeling?

[chronomancer]

[Eridan awkwardly takes the tray, a bit taken aback. He didn't expect it to be for him. He moves to sit on his bed.]

Oh. It's... I'm fine. You really did a great job, thank you.

[He looks at the chowder curiously, before remembering his manners.]

Do you want to sit down?

[selenic]

It was nothing! I'm just glad I could help.

[She sits down beside him, watching him expectantly.]

[chronomancer]

You really did.

[Eridan looks down, suddenly so very interested in the chowder. Now then... let's try this....

He blinks.]

Oh. That's. That's pretty nice.

[selenic]

[She grins, looking relieved.]

Oh, good! I was worried you might not like it.

[chronomancer]

[Eridan blinks. Repeatedly.]

...you made this?

[selenic]

[She... blinks back...]

Yes. Is that okay?

[chronomancer]

[Oh. That. That surprises him. He ducks his head.]

Yes. It's... it's really good.

[Should he still eat it though? What if it was for someone else...]

[selenic]

[SO HE SAYS, but he's not eating it, so she is unsure!]

If you really don't like it, you don't have to eat it.

[chronomancer]

Oh, oh no. I just. It's really good. But.

[He seems to be attempting to disappear.]

Did... didn't you make this for someone else?

[Because no one makes stuff for him. What the hell.]

[She doesn't seem to know how to respond to that at first.]

Of course not! What makes you think that?

[Eridan looks positively mystified.]

[She honestly looks pretty mystified herself.]

[Eridan smiles shyly.]

[But he appreciates the gesture. A lot.]

[He is so incredibly shy.]

Have you been getting around okay?

[chronomancer]

[He's. Gonna go back to eating his chowder, okay. This is so nice. He nods shallowly at the question.]

It's... probably goin' to take a wwhile to get used to it.

[Does he even need to specify what he's talkin' about? I didn't think so either.]

But I'm fine.

I'm glad! You'll tell me if you need anything, won't you?

[chronomancer]

[Not a chance in hell! ^__^ Eridan nods lightly.]

[Most certainly not. Damn, now his chowder tastes of guilt. :(]

[DROWN IN IT, ERIDAN. But she's smiling, totally oblivious.]

What have you been doing lately?

[Sob, the sweet, sweet taste of deception.]

Oh. Just... readin', mostly.

[He ducks his head again.]

[She props her chin in her hands, watching him.]

Do you usually get into trouble?

...a little. Not that I wwant to, but it kind a finds me anywway.

Oh. [Smile gone!] Why is that?

[Excuse him, he's gonna go hide inside his chowder.]

[NO ERIDAN STOP THAT'S GROSS.]

Do you get hurt a lot?

[Her jaw totally drops.]

You died?

[chronomancer]

[Eridan gives her a guileless, oblivious look.]

[Oh no, she feels so bad for him. She's going to reach out and try to hug him now!]

[She does let go, but she keeps her hands on his shoulders.]

I'm so sorry, Eridan! Are you sure you're all right?

[chronomancer]

[This is the face of incomprehension. Don't get him wrong, hugs are nice. Real nice, he'd like to have more hugs in his life but at the same time... why is he getting hugs? He's alright.]

Sure. Why wouldn't I be?

[Pause.]

...aside from the arm thing, I mean.

[Hey, look, their faces match!]

You died! That's awful!

[chronomancer]

[Eridan blinks and attempts to make it better, which of course means he'll just proceed to make it worse.]

It was just a couple hundred times and they were all doomed anyway?

[selenic]

[YUP making it way worse! Also he's being super confusing.]

Doomed...?

[chronomancer]

You know, predestined to die.

[Not helping, is it?]

[selenic]

You were destined to die hundreds of times?

[chronomancer]

[He shrugs.]
