Setting: The entire tower, any of a few floors.
Format: Any
Summary: Naminé's powers are out of control. This is a dangerous thing for everyone in the tower.
Warnings: Minds being crushed, memory manipulation, illusions, possibly violence and psychological trauma. Also, one rather upset young lady.


[Something bizzare is afoot.

Throughout the week, several anomalies will be occurring in the tower. One of the most noticable of these is the spontaneous opening and closing of strange, dark portals which some might recognize as Corridors of Darkness, which, when passed through, can send the traveler anywhere in the parts of the tower that are accessible by its captive occupants. Another of the more obvious goings on is the new rather concerning tendency for places, things, and even people to suddenly look like something else, even something markedly different. This change is an illusion and not permanent, but it's a very convincing illusion indeed. Also rather disorienting is the sensation that something is calling one from somewhere or another; whether or not anything is actually waiting for them should they choose to investigate varies. The more observant or magically and/or psychically inclined might discover that it feels as though someone or something is creeping through their mind/heart from time to time.

Less noticable but considerably more dangerous are the changes in one's memories that could happen at any time. Memories might be rearranged, replaced, or removed entirely. New memories, memories of things that never happened, or even copies of someone else's memories might also make an appearance. Worse still is the possibility of one's (metaphysical) heart collapsing in on itself, leaving them little more than a vegetable.

The source of all of this mess is a young lady who will be spending as much of her time this week as possible hiding away, trying her hardest to keep her malfunctioning powers in check. She's not having much luck, and those who run across her might find a rather distressed Naminé tucked away somewhere like the library or the maze.]

[She'd be apologetic about being the cause of his situation if she knew it was her fault. She looks up at the sound of her name, looking almost afraid.]

--Romeo? -- No, I--... not exactly.

[At her face he bent down to grasp her hand.] What's wrong Namine? Don't worry, we'll get out of here!

[lethechained]

[She draws inward as her hand is grasped, as if she wants to pull it away, but she doesn't.] No--! Romeo, you need to leave...!

[myblueskies]

[Romeo shook his head] Is someone trying to hurt you Namine? I'll protect you okay! You don't have to be scared![His claim is a bit more realistic than last time he promised, since he can, sort of fight now. He doesn't let go of her hand.]

[lethechained]

[More realistic claim or not, she still looks distressed, and getting a bit more so. It's not out of worry for herself, however.] No, it's-- [How is she supposed to explain this without spilling the beans about her powers?] I just-- [Her concern and panic are a bit too obvious to pull this off, so she takes a moment to force them away from her face as best she can.] ... I need to be alone. [It might not do any good, but-- it's better than not being able to do anything. The fewer people see her like this, the better.]

[Romeo blinked in confusion but let go of her hand. He didn't really want to leave her here though, not alone not in the maze. Bad things happened in the maze. He peered at her in worry.] This isn't a good place Namine...

[It's true, the maze isn't exactly the best place to spend time. She'd been hoping for solitude in it, but-- well, that seems to be a lost cause.]

I'll... find somewhere else. [If it'll make him more comfortable, or at least more willing to depart.]

[myblueskies]

[Romeo nodded and held out his hand. Then stopped confused all of a sudden. He didn't know where he was, how he had gotten here... He looked round wide eyed.

This wasn't Milano...]

[lethechained]

[She looks up at the offered hand, hesitating, and doesn't reach out in time to do so before his sudden pause. Her eyes snap up toward him, widening slightly. Did he just--]

Romeo--?

[myblueskies]

[He blinks, really confused, everything was all muddled. This wasn't anywhere he knew in Milano though and it was all dark. Dark and scary. His eyes flickered to the sound of his name]

Miss?

[Why was he here, he tried to think. He could remember somethings but they were all muddled in his head, he remembered mrs Rossi hitting him, and saying he stole, he remembered strange people in red collars holding him down.]

Is this jail miss? [Is that why it was so dark?]

[lethechained]

[-- He did. He forgot, and it's all her fault. She feels ill, but giving in to despair isn't going to help. She might not be able to fix him right away, but that doesn't mean that she can't help.]

-- No. No, it's-- not. You don't remember anything about this place?

[myblueskies]

[He was glad it wasn't jail, he hadn't stole anything! He shook his head nervously] No miss... Does mister Rossi know I'm here miss, he will be really mad if he doesn't know where I am. [He looked round nervously.]

[lethechained]

[She hesitates. Who's mister Rossi?]

I... don't know. I'm sorry.

[myblueskies]

[Romeo bit his lip, a little scared. Why didn't he know whee he was. Why couldn't he remember things.] I'm going to be in so much trouble...

[lethechained]

I-- it's not your fault. [She wants to explain, really she does, but-- how? Where did one even start, with that?] You didn't do anything wrong.

[myblueskies]

[Well at least this adult believed him... and didn't think he had done something bad...] I didn't miss! I didn't steal anything but he doesn't believe me. Now he might think I ran away if he doesn't know where I am, I should go back... [But it was so dark, he didn't even know where to begin...]

[lethechained]

[That might be one way of starting it, but not the way she'd have liked.]

... You can't. There's no way for you to go back, at least not by yourself.

[myblueskies]

I can't? [He looked scared but punched the air. He had to keep his spirits up!] Why not miss?

[lethechained]

There's no way to leave. Not unless they let us go.

[myblueskies]

No way to leave? [Fear flickered over his face for a moment but he nodded, determined.] Who lets us go miss?

I'm-- not sure whose decision it is. But... it's not very likely that they'll let you go if you ask. [An unfortunate reality.]

[myblueskies]

Oh [He thought about that for a moment.] What do we have to do miss? [Because if they had been brought here and couldn't go back, surely they had work to do.]

[... Have to do. Funny, what that reminds her of.]

Nothing. At least-- most of the time.

Nothing? So we don't have to work for them?
