ITP: Death and lots of it!
Characters: Minami and anyone who wants to get killed off by a shadow monster! Later, a battle in which Minami gets killed
Setting: Various places
Format: Starting with prose, will follow what anyone wants
Summary: Minami's collar got bumped down to orange. Her persona start going out of control and inevitably her piece of the Shadow of Death emerges
Warnings: Death, gore, violence, standard procedure for Animus.
How this will work: To keep from spamming the community, every thread is going to be separated out. The first thread will be Minami's initial loss of control of death which people are free to reply to. The second thread will be a placeholder anyone can tag to who wants their characters killed off. The final thread will go up on Wednesday or Thursday and will be closed to anyone who would like to be part of killing off Minami. We'll see how things develop as it goes on.

Loss of control; Room 1-03, then hallway
By the time she'd gotten back to her dorm she knew something was wrong. For one thing, she kept hearing voices. Whispers. It took her a while to realize these were inside her head and they were her persona. The voices weren't very distinct, but they were unnerving, to say the least. Minami was more concerned was how it was getting hard to think. Her head span most of the time and she found herself sleeping a lot and certain urges were starting to build up.
Disturbing urges that she normally only felt in the thrall of battle against shadows. This had her worried and it didn't help that the indistinct voices in her head were getting louder and louder, making it even harder to hear her own thoughts until she was curled up in bed with her MP3 Player at full volume. What was wrong with her?
Then it started to hurt. Like something was trying to burst out of her head. Not as bad as the first time she'd had the urge to summon her persona, but still strong. Minami took to cleaning her evoker when she got tired of being curled up in bed, the task having helped her keep calm in the past. But with the voices screaming at her and the pressure in the back of her head that she knew could easily be relieved, the next thing she knew she had it pressed to her skull and was pulling the trigger.
The next thing Minami knew there was release and the hum of Orpheus above her. And then pain, like her very soul was being ripped to pieces and she screamed as she held her head, hearing the electronic squeals as Orpheus was pulled apart.
From that point on, she felt like she was in a fog, the staff she'd made in the woodwork level in one hand, evoker in the other. Everything felt as if it were detached, like her limbs were being pulled on a string. Unknown to her, a deathly-smelling smoke was surrounding her, the vague outline of Thanatos surrounding her, directing her.
Peace.... that was what she intended to bring, what the voice ringing clear in her mind meant to do: bring peace to everything, just as Mother wanted him/her/it to.....

But they're too busy to answer his questions, so he stared at the door before walking off.
Hearing voices in his head was normal for them. Normally, they would be quiet. But they're still there and would occasionally speak up. However...this time, they're talking more frequently.
His footsteps stopped when he saw (Minako) Minami in the hallways. Before he can call out to her, he feel a pang of pain as Mot's voice talk and talk.
Along with something else's.
"Mina--"
What's this feeling, it's so familiar. It's almost like something's...reacting.

....and then there's a roar through her head and her hands jerk up briefly as if she wanted to cover her ears. Then she stands straight, turning towards him, running towards him. That boy--he was whole. It didn't make sense. Why was he whole? WhyWhyWhyWhy?
She rose up her staff as she came at him, intent on striking him down, draw out the copycat missing piece help, and seek out purpose for herself.

He can hear the voices (a single voice?) roared, causing him to clutched his head from the loudness and pain. Minato can barely hear himself think, as he feel something coming out.
Mot. The entombed god appeared above him in that familiar, blue light. However, instead of opening the coffin for the god's hand--it always do that, to cast spells or do something--it shakes violently.
It's trying to contain something from coming out, and it make noises. Unpleasant, loud noises. Or rather...growls.
Minato finally screams when Mot shatters into pieces, as Death emerged from within.

Minami herself, the fog around her becoming thicker and more defined into its true form the closer she got to this completed-copy-alternate-fake, swings her staff down, intent on testing it. Should she join with it or give it sweet oblivion? She doesn't know, but she knows she needs to test it out. See what happens from there.

How can there be another? Unlike itself, the other is broken. Incomplete. So what to do, give it the peaceful rest of death?
Minato's hands lower from his head, standing up straighter and slowly blinking his eyes.

There was a boy in a field. One she knew lived miserably. One that made the whispers in her head scream and her heart to clench as she approached him. He was only a child. Just a child. She needed to make it quick, painless. She stopped a few feet behind him and rose her staff over his head, intending to strike.]

... You. I didn't think it would be you who came after me.
[He put his Evoker back in his holster, tucking his hands into his pockets. He wasn't afraid. He had been waiting for this for a long time, once he had figured out how he was going to do it.]
Just do it.
no subject
Very well. Make it quick.
She brings her staff out wide, like it's a baseball bat--and strikes. One swift hit, enough to snap his neck, likely killing him instantly, painlessly.
Once she's done with him, she doesn't bother with the body. Just turns and walks off in search of another person who seeks release.]

Death was awake in the tower.
She speeds up, intent on making her way to Ken and guiding him past when she sees them, skidding to a halt and then turning back to the hallway she'd seen them in, moving as fast as she can. Of all the things she'd thought she'd find, That Girl wielding Death had not been one of them. She sees her gear up for the strike and speeds up again, but she already knows she won't make it before it connects- and she's not sure whether she's angrier at herself for not being fast enough or at Her for actually going through with it.]
Ken-!
[Their own deaths haven't ever meant much to those in Strega- but to Chidori, the deaths of her friends were always something she'd pushed herself to prevent. And though she knows Ken will likely resurrect in the morning, that doesn't make the sight any less difficult for her to take- and it doesn't make her dislike of the S.E.E.S. girl any easier to handle. One of her axes is thrown out, intended to wrap around the handle of Minami's weapon to get her attention, and Chidori digs her heels in as she stops in front of Ken's body, her other axe ready to fly.]
You're not going anywhere.

It's strange how, if she seems to know something about the person, it makes it easier for things to be justified, even as something in the back of her mind is screaming and clawing and raging against it. Yet she also finds it's freeing, somehow, doing this. Just not caring as her hands move as she turns to face Chidori.
She stares at her hand where her staff had just been, the axe having pulled it from her grip to land a few feet away. Her head jerks to look at Chidori, and then her hand goes to where her evoker is holstered, as if being pulled by puppet strings. She doesn't want it quick? Very well then. The evoker is jerked up to her head, pressed to her temple, and fired.
The fog around her shifts, the shape of the being above her changing to something more feminine and shrieking, and it lets loose with an icy barrage she picked up from Mitsuru.]

Medea!
[The name is more a snarl than a cry as usual, and another rush of flame- maragidyne, as opposed to simply agidyne- swirls toward Minami. Overkill, perhaps, but Chidori doesn't care. She will not allow her to get away with this.]
floor 20
He was on floor twenty sat in the middle of the floor, he had been watching people, it was an open space so he could see everyone that came past, and was checking that all his friends were okay.

At last, another to help. Another.
Once she reached the landing, she turned, approaching him. Not yet unholstering her evoker. She had to see how he'd react first.

"Hello Minami! Are you okay?"
FINAL FIGHT
low on HP/SPexhausted. She is, after all, a human girl. There's only so much a shadow as strong as Death can hold back on its quest and between this, the effect of her not eating the oatmeal, and not going to bed, she's weak. Physically ready to collapse despite the shadow moving her on to yet another to bring peace to.]/not late, nope
Eventually, finally, she finds her. The princess smiles, but it's full of worry and anxiety.]
Minami. I have been searching for you. Is... everything all right?
I'm sporadic on this myself so no worries! |D
So she deserves something quick, peaceful, not messy. But how? Minami-Death-Minami doesn't know how. This woman has suffered so much so what could she do to aid her in return.
Her head tilts to the other side. Is she all right? Of course she's all right. Why wouldn't she be? There's a few jerks of her head in the semblance of a nod.]
Awesome. /o/
But she shall not panic. She needs to stay calm, just like Minami did for her. In response, her own head cants to the left, her smile fading and what's left of it becoming more and more strained.]
... I heard terrible things, Minami. I am worried for you. You do not seem like yourself right now.

She brings the evoker to her temple, fires, and in a spray of blue crystals the dark fog is around her again and the shape of a feminine figure looms above her. Fire--weak, but still fire--shoots for, aiming more to immobilize Zelda than to harm her.
The death itself needs to be quick, after all, painless. Zelda deserves nothing less.]
no subject
[Zelda has never seen a gun, much less an evoker, in action before, so when Minami brings the pseudo-weapon up, she merely looks on in confusion until the persona appears and oh, Goddesses, fire.]
Nayru, protect me!
[Just before the fire reaches her, a magical diamond-esque shield forms around her, deflecting the flames. ... But now the floor around her is on fire, and, yeah, she's not going anywhere soon.]
Minami! This is not you - I know it is not! Something is wrong... I do not know what, but please! Listen to me!
no subject
She can wait until the flames die down. It looks like magic won't help to make this easier at all.]
no subject
[Even so, Zelda keeps trying, because she sees no other option at this point. She can't fight Minami. Not after everything the other girl has done for her. It's simply not in her power to.
So she'll keep trying to talk her down, and if... if she dies in the process, well. So be it.]
okay lets. try this again.
Thanatos rears in his head, and it's been acting up really badly. He'd taken it as the Tower, as he had not been affected personally by the switching, but the message Ken had left he didn't even BOTHER to answer.
Instead, he armed himself and began searching the Tower.
This was fucking backwards. If anyone ought to be killing people, it should have been them, dammit. When he finally finds her, his expression sets to an icy glare as he watches her attempt to kill someone he doesn't really know.
That isn't Minami anymore. Can't be.
Whatever is going on, Thanatos is furiously clambering inside his head. (KILL) It's hard to think through the headache, but he's not about to let this happen. Putting his own Evoker to his head, he summons Thanatos, steeling his emotions and his mind and doing all he can to control it before setting off a Mabufudyne around Zelda, leaving only smoke around the flames as he runs up towards her, getting in front of her.
Now was not the time for it to do it's own thing. (THE END WILL COME. KILL THEM ALL.)
He is pissed. Whatever this place did to her... he is not happy. Minato turns to Zelda, expression serious. ]
That isn't her. Don't even bother. You'll just get yourself killed. Do yourself a favor and get the hell out of here, and do it now.
