☾ motion jumpstarts when we touch. (x01)
Characters: Cecil Harvey (
mythgravenblade) and OPEN!
Setting: Starting out on second dormitory floor, and then all around the Tower.
Format: I'll start out in action brackets, but choose either and I'll match!
Summary: After waking up, Cecil's out to check out everything and prod everything in sight. He may or may not actually come up to people.
Warnings: PG; subject to change if anything gets nasty.
[ upon waking, Cecil felt the terror of not being able to move, but forced himself not to panic. He focused on the ceiling above him, noting its drab color, noting that it wasn't Baron stone grey, and it wasn't cream-colored like the draperies that hung above his bed and Rosa's. things to notice numbered, Cecil could only fall back on the fact that he still couldn't move, and, for a split second, a bout of terror at such a foreign feeling filled him. was this Zeromus' doing? where was he?
--he breathed in deep as he was finally able to move, quickly pushing himself up into a sitting position, a hand over the nightclothes he'd fallen asleep with. after checking to see every part of him was alright and could move freely after the terrifying ordeal of being struck still, Cecil found the trunk at the end of his bed and fumbled to open it, and changed into the set of armor he always wore. It was then and only then that he'd noticed the two letters, and read them carefully with hope he could understand what sort of problem he'd caught himself in.
he only just ended his journey in the Overworld, surely this was easy to handle--?
... he read the letters twice over, three times over, and refused to accept it. the thought that Rosa and Kain were dead, the thought that Rydia and Edge and ... his brother-- it was too much to bear. and as a King, he would not give up hope in them. if there was one thing he believed in, he believed in them. the slide of metal against metal rang sharply through the empty room; he took his leave as soon as he was ready, stepping out into the hallway, and then, exploring the rest of the Tower. ]

... Regardless, he should probably speak with him. He isn't exactly unapproachable.]

[ he hadn't expected to come across someone so quickly, (and someone so young) and upon seeing the teen, he glances back towards his own door, wondering if he's been given an empty room by luck or choice, as he notes quite a few others have more than one occupant. there are quite a few people here, then. his gaze goes from just Yu's face to what he's deliberately trying to hide--the collar. he'd been careful to wind the striped scarf around his neck to hide his own from sight. out of sight, out of mind, after all. ]
Hello. [ a light incline of his head. ]
no subject
Hello. ...Just arrived? [He smiles faintly, trying to be polite.]

[ a slow nod accompanies his words. ]
Is what I've read in the letters left for me true? [ it's, of course, the first thing he asks. ]
no subject
But Yu keeps his expression as neutral as possible while sympathy shone through in his eyes. Not many would want to know their worlds were destroyed.]
I've yet to see anything that proves or disproves the letters. [He hates that, too- he'd just saved his world from destruction. How could it-?
No. The last time he doubted himself, an innocent life almost diminished. He wouldn't let now be yet another example of what happens when hope is lost.]
no subject
I see. [ a pause. he raises his eyes, a hint of sadness there amongst the gratitude. his voice is firm, but quiet. ] Then I choose to believe they're not true for now.
I am Cecil Harvey.

Yu Narukami. Nice to meet you, Harvey-san. [He glances toward the end of the hallway a moment, wondering if he should give a tour... Though he is still new, himself.] ...I can't believe the letters, either.

He's walking down the hall towards the stairs, yawning and rubbing his eyes. As such, he isn't really paying attention to where he's going...]

there's a jerk in his heart as he notes how young the boy is. he briefly is reminded of Rydia, when she was young, summoning Eidolons like it was no big deal. perhaps this boy is the same, highly skilled and talented in his field. and he notes, again, that the color running through his collar is different from his. ]
Forgive me, I hadn't seen you.
no subject
No, it's okay. I should've been paying attention.
no subject
May I ask who you are?
no subject
Not that Link can blame him. But. Still.]
I'm Link.
no subject
It's very nice to meet you, Link. I am Cecil Harvey.

Even she's not crazy enough to try working in these conditions, so she turns to leave. Right as someone else comes in. ]

though, perhaps the striped scarf around his neck hiding his collar makes him look a little familiar to someone Luca would know. ]

Uh... hey. Cecil?
[ What is this tower doing this time? ]
no subject
Hello. [ he inclines his head a little in greeting. ] You know who I am, but I'm afraid I'm unaware as to who you are.

[ the Dwarven princess? he pauses, head canted slightly to the side. a hand comes before his mouth as he thinks. ]
You're certainly older than I remember, yes. How much?

he isn't sure what these... pots are... but he's pretty unfazed by them. once you fight puppets and CPU nodes, nothing can really phase you. ]
no subject
Under their combined force it probably won't take all too long until the first pot breaks.]

no subject
Let's not go there.
But yeah, the first pot is finally breaking open, dropping a small toy onto the ground. The other ones - all rather damaged themselves - are still hanging in the air, though they will disappear in a moment or two.]
no subject
Cecil doesn't stop--as long as Riku doesn't, though he is slightly perturbed by the toy that falls out. then again.
he's been called for collecting items dropped by monsters, so honestly, he doesn't see a problem. ]
