Setting: Around room 2-07 and the dormitories.
Format: Action preferred, but I can go either way.
Summary: Nepeta's new to the tower, so time to look around.
Warnings: Mentions of death, probably not much else.

[The act of waking up is a strange one when you don't expect to wake up at all. Freaking out is also mitigated when you're stuck still in--what is this, a human bed?--for half a minute before you can get up. It gives Nepeta the chance to, if not calm completely, get a push on the way there, and also realize she's not in pain anymore. But then what is this place? It doesn't look like the lab, and again, she's pretty sure she didn't have something soft to lay on when her eyes first closed.]

[Once her limbs decide they can move again, though, she's up instantly. Three things come quickly to her attention: the collar around her neck (which gets some pokes, prods, and tugs before she gives up on removing it), then the two letters. Being told her world has been destroyed is no news at all - Alternia is already pretty much gone! - but the rest is unexpected. This is a place to live. There's things here to help in that. And again, most importantly, she's alive.]

[So what does this mean for everyone else? It's a stab to the gut to think back on what happened to Equius, and she can't stop a sharp hiss at the thought of Gamzee potentially being here. But if they could save her, maybe, just maybe, they could save her friends too.]

[After one last delay spent checking the contents of her trunk, she's out the door to get an idea of this place. Her nerves aren't totally settled; her feet carry her light and careful through the halls of the dormitories. For all she wants to see who's here, she can't afford not to be wary.]

[Zelda has had a lot on her mind, lately - not a lot that she particularly wants to talk about, either. Being hated by yourself is... a little odd, and fairly disheartening, after all. Even if "yourself" means "an alternate, royal version of you".

So needless to say, she wasn't watching where she was going as she went back to her room - ultimately running into Nepeta and stumbling back a bit.]

Ah, my apologies -

[... Whoah. Whoah. She's not one to judge by looks - but this is definitely the first trolls she's ever met, so don't mind her... ogling those horns in confusion, of course.]

[Aradia's just heading back towards the dorms when she spots a familiar figure. Her excitement pushes aside any thoughts that this might not be her Nepeta, but another alternate; besides, there's only one way to find out.]

Nepeta!

[Whump!]

[Okay, maybe she wasn't paying as much attention as she should have been. Nepeta backs up a few quick paces herself, gaze swinging to--]

Oh!

[Her eyebrows raise and both gloves hands come up, though not the claws; those stay sheathed.]

Wow, I've never met a human in purrson before!

[Even with her concerns, that surprise definitely warrants some comment. And she is human, right? Pale skin, hornless, that's how it goes. And yes, she does indeed purr the r's of purrson.]

Do you live here? I just showed up a little bit ago, like maybe ten minutes.

Oh, no... I don't count this as where I live, anyway. And...

I am a Hylian, not a human.

[That has the sound of uncertainty, of course; not too long ago, she'd have called herself a Kokiri...]

[Well there's a familiar voice, even if the tone sounds a bit different than normal. And obviously it's someone who recognizes her! Heartened by this though, Nepeta turns to look at the speaker.]

[She stares for a full five seconds.]

A--Aradia? Is that really you? Oh wow, I thought--I thought you were gone, but now you're all alive and pretty and everything!

[She scampers over, every step bespeaking her excitement, while her gaze flicks over from hood to symbol to wings alike.]

What happened?

I don't think I've ever heard of one of those.

[She peers over Zelda, trying to piece out what details it is that differentiate her. Maybe the ears? She doesn't recall the ones she's seen having points to theirs.]

Mhmm, I've never even seen this place before. I'm Nepeta Leijon, and I'm a troll.

That's quite alright, Nepeta.

[... That's a really adorable name. Nnnot going to say it aloud, but what a cute little girl. Troll. Girl troll.
... Hopefully this troll is a girl, anyway, wouldn't want to offend -]

It's a pleasure to meet you, despite the circumstance. ... Though, I'm sure you would like to know what the circumstance is, wouldn't you?

[For all she may count as a tomboy, and an unusual one at that, Nepeta is most certainly a girl. And her voice is pretty feminine besides.]

[She nods earnestly at the question.]

It's nice to meet you too! But yes, that would help a lot. I'm really kind of confused here... But it doesn't seem bad so fur.

[Not next to what it could be. Though still he posture shifts, sinking a little about the shoulders. Even after what thought she spent on the letters, the whole of what's happened to her has barely had time at all to sink in.]

... Well. I suppose the first thing to speak of are those nasty letters left to us; I can assure you, they are not true. I know it may not seem that way - but you cannot fall prey to the lies this place tells.

[The Goddesses wouldn't just let Hyrule be destroyed, after all - that's why she exists. To make sure it isn't destroyed.]

The second, is that while this place may seem safe, it most certainly is not. But that's not to say you should keep your guard up around the people, here - if they possess a colored collar like ours, they are most likely safe to be around.

The third, is that this place has stolen others from not only different worlds, but different times as well. There are multiples of myself, for example; you may meet her. Be very polite if you do - while I am not royalty, she is.

[And that's about all she's got so far. No one's told her about death in the tower or anything like that...]

... Ah, and if you meet other Hylians, here - they possess ears like mine - they are not only safe, but wonderful allies.

[Nepeta listens attentively to each word. The first thing said brings a fair bit of confusion, but she doesn't interrupt, instead mulling over her thoughts as she takes in the rest of the information.]

But my world already was destroyed. There was this big rain of meteors that came down called the Reckoning, though the story's kind of complicated.

[She scratches at her chin.] Unless they meant the Veil? But if you say that's not true anyway... Hmmm.

But do you really mean that, about other people? I can't even imagine meeting another me, or what she'd be like if she did. Or other fursions of my friends.

I'll keep all that in mind. Especially if I need to be careful about this place.

[Aradia giggles at Nepeta's reaction. It still hasn't gotten old, suprising the people she knows by being non-exploded and all round happier]

It's really me. I guess I had a dream self after all and she was just waiting for the right time to wake up.

[And a little more seriously]

Did you just get here?

They most likely meant wherever they have taken you from; be it your home, or... "the Veil", as you say.

But yes; I really do mean that. There is a man named Link that I am quite knowledgeable about - while the Link I am aware of is not here - thank the Goddesses - there are many others known as Link residing in this place.
And that is just one example.

[She gives Nepeta a little smile, looking her up and down. She doesn't seem very... battle ready.]

Do you have anything to protect yourself with, Nepeta?

That's really great! I'm happy fur you.

[And it shows on her face. One friend alive that she didn't expect bodes well.]

[She nods to the question.]

Yeah, I haven't been here very long at all.

[furocious]

Then the Veil. It's this bunch of meteors floating around in this space I was befur, and there was a lab on one of them where me and my friends were hiding out.

That sounds really complicated too. Hopefully I'll be able to keep everyone straight if I meet them.

[She perks up at the question, and grins with a dash of pride. Her hands come up, balled into fists, and with a practiced squeeze the claws unsheathe from the back of her gloves.]

You don't have to worry about me! I have my claws and teeth, and I've been using them ever since my lusus taught me how to hunt.

[... Yeah - a lot of what she said flew right over the sheltered forest girl's head; but she looks impressed at the claws.]

... I would use just the claws. I'm not sure if the monsters here are entirely healthy to be biting.
It's good that you are armed, though; I have nothing I could have given you...

[She would have lent Nepeta her blade, since she has a bow currently - but only chosen Heroes can wield the Master Sword.]

[Not healthy? She blinks at that, then uncurling her fists, resheathes the claws.]

I've fought plenty of monsters befur, too. Small ones and big ones and all in between. What kind are around here?

Ah... the forest contains ghostly monsters - they seem like normal deer and birds, until you venture too far from the staircase.
Any floor with water contains odd crustaceans - very tall, that walk on two legs. They aren't dangerous in the light, but do attack at night.

[She pauses then, in thought -]

... Oh, actually. Just don't traverse the tower at night. It isn't safe at all.

[furocious]

[Crustaceans walking on hind legs don't sound weird at all to her, but she takes in the info all the same. If she thinks it's important and is trying to help, there's no reason to ignore it.]

Kind of strange that it's worse at nighttime than the day. But I'll be sure to remember all of that. Thanks fur telling me.

[It's what her moirail would have wanted.]

I suppose it's for the best, though. Better it be dangerous when no one is likely to wander about the halls, than during the day when everyone is awake.

As far as I know, the rooms are perfectly safe, after all.

[At the thanks, she gives her a smile and a nod, of course.]

Ah, speaking of rooms - if you ever need me, my room is 2-07. I am not always there, of course, but it is a good place to look for me.

[She perks up again at that.]

You mean you sleep at night? That's so weird! Where I'm from trolls sleep during the day. Except fur my friend Kanaya but she's kind of funny like that.

[But if her perking up was one thing, her reaction to the room number is something else: she actually jumps up off her feet in excitement.]

That's the same block they put me in! That means we're blockmates, doesn't it? I've never even had one befur ever. I mean, my friends and I were stuck together in that lab but that's diffurent, and my lusus doesn't count the same way either. This is so great!

Yes, we do share a room, then! There are two others who share our room as well - though I have only met one.

But I am glad we share a room, Nepeta! It's much easier to get to know a new friend when you are around them often, right?

[This is turning out to be a pretty sweet deal - she doesn't have many friends, after all.]

... The beds, you mean? Yes, we do. Everyone I know of does, at the very least.

[It's nice, too. A lot better than making due with a cloak and grass.]

I'll have to get used to them. Trolls use these big pods full of green slime called recuperacoons. But sometimes I've slept without one befur, so it won't be too hard. At least it felt comfurtable.

[Pfft, what are you talking about? Grass is pretty good too if you're looking for a nap outside with your lusus.]

[Well yeah, grass isn't too bad - but she definitely prefers a soft bed. It's even softer than the one from her house, too.]

It's nice, isn't it?

Oh - I forgot one thing. You have to eat the oatmeal they provide you in the eating area, or anything else will make you ill, alright?
