[CLOSED] a pupil seeking answers
Characters: Master Xehanort and [OU] Ventus
Setting: Floor 19
Format: prose I think IDK MII TELL ME IF YOU GET TIRED OF SILLY INTROSPECTION
Summary: Ven has been waiting near on ten years for some answers, and Master Xehanort is no doubt manipulating the situation to his own, evil little advantage.
Warnings: Xehanort existing, gratuitous use of heartbadtouch gloves, Xehanort existing.
Ven was more familiar with the Tower, so it was up to him to find somewhere "secure." Which was kind of hard, to be honest; in the end, he settled on the library on the Nineteenth floor; it was quiet at the least, and most people used the library on the third floor, since it was the one with the computers. He wasn't sure if it was secure persay, but he hung out in both of the libraries all of the time with Roxas, and nothing had ever gone bad because of the library itself. And at the least, it was easy to rush up or down the floors should the need arise. He still didn't know how he felt, and he wanted answers, but that didn't mean Ven was completely trusting of the man yet.
So he led the old man up to the Nineteenth Floor, looking around to make sure no one was around. When he confirmed the coast was clear, he turned back to Master Xehanort, looking at him expectantly with a furrowed brow. He was expecting an explanation of Xehanort's motives, and damn if he was going to go anywhere or let this go until he got it.
"Well?"

"Well?"

Ven felt considerably more drained than he had when this conversation had begun, and even though it didn't have the weight of years, his shoulders slumped like his old Master's nevertheless. He wanted to say more-- to argue and be angry again, but he had said he would simply listen. And frankly, he was just tired.
"Thank you for telling me, Master."

"How can that be? There must have been hearts of both light and darkness before the war ruined things." More importantly, did...it even matter what was born from what anymore?

He turned back to Ventus again. "Staring into the sun too long brings blindness, and so too does turning to face the light for too long. Knowing the truth, is it proper to destroy darkness?" And a sweeping hand gesture for the magnitude of his words. "What then, when all the creative force in the universe is burned away and replaced with nothing but staid light? No hearts could ever result in such a world, Ventus! It would be functionally deceased!"
no subject
"Light can be a creative force too. Thinking that the Light can only be stagnant is just the same as what you say the Order thinks of the Darkness, isn't it?"

"And besides, what about me and Vanitas? We were both pure light and pure darkness, but neither of us could've been that without each other.

This made more sense in his head.

He simply chuckled, shaking his head slightly. "Things are rarely that simple. However, I am not here to argue the technical workings of the universe - it seems to distress you."
no subject
"Yeah, sounds perfect to me."

And then he simply turned, walking past the boy. "There is little matter to discussing the whys now. You have closed your mind to possibilities."
no subject
"I'd rather have a closed-mind than be open to destruction and murder! Even if the universe is crumbling around you, it's still better to turn your back on the universe than to other living creatures!"
And whether Xehanort even heard him, Ven turned away completely, storming out of the library.
