Summary: A blonde elf wakes up in a tower with word that Middle Earth is gone. A persistent search for his (still living) friends ensues.
Warnings: Potential for violence due to mistaken identity?

Room 3-02

The lack of ability to move, feeling like he couldn't breathe, Legolas had to fight not to jump to his feet and search for a threat when he finally regained his ability to move. His breathing remained even when he got to his feet, blue eyes carefully roaming around the room. The note went largely unnoticed for the time being while he went to investigate the trunk.

He was glad to find his clothes in there, his bow and a quiver full of arrows. Legolas didn't really waste much time in changing, tugging lightly at the collar and adjusting his clothes to fit more comfortably around it before slinging the quiver over his shoulder and sheathing his twin knives beneath the quiver. And finally he placed a sheathed Rohirric sword around his waist and a white knife. All equipment he had with him a century ago when he joined the Fellowship of the Ring, to assist Frodo.

That was so long ago. What was he going to do about Gimli? He had been taking him to the Undying Lands with him. They would have been reunited with Gandalf and Frodo, Lord Elrond and Lady Galadriel.

The elf sat on his bed and sighed a bit. Then spotted the letter. And the elf read it, carefully because it had been many years since he'd read anything in the tongue of Man. And then he read it again before crumpling it. Middle Earth was gone? Did that mean Gimli was gone as well? The old Dwarf never having a chance to see the Undying Lands?

Cafeteria

Legolas had the foresight to bring along a chunk of Lembas bread with his when he entered the cafeteria and was handed the bowl of oatmeal. He'd had worse food, he was sure, but that was a long time ago. He'd happily enjoyed the food of his people, and of the dwarves for a century now.

He was at least mature enough not to poke at his food or make disgusted faces at it. Legolas ate it in silence and them ate some Lembas bread to get the taste from his mouth.

Floor 25/Meadow

Legolas sat cross legged, relaxing in the middle of the meadow. His weapons are set on the ground beside him, as if they disturb the bit of peace this place offers. It's not the same though. He wanted to be near the sea now. He even starts to quote something.

"Legolas Greenleaf, long under tree,
In joy thou hast lived. Beware of the Sea!
If thou hearest the cry of the gull on the shore,
Thy heart shall then rest in the forest no more."

Anywhere else

The tower residents may find a blonde young man, barely looking more than twenty years of age, and with pointy ears wandering around. He's very heavily armed but walking casually, with only his bow in hand.

Oh, and he has pointy ears.

[Eleanor shakes her head.]

Nonetheless, if I can be of assistance, I'll be glad to provide it.

[He gives her a smile.]

[She bobs her head again, nodding.]

Have you been told the basics?

Not yet, actually. I've been doing a bit of wandering so that I don't become lost while here.

Then I would be glad to tell you what I know, if you want to hear it.

I would, if you have the time to. It's always best to know what you can.

Of course. Though perhaps we should go down to the cafeteria. I'm afraid you'll need to endure a first meal soon.

I suppose that would be as good a place as any to learn what I can. And I haven't eaten since I left my home, so that's probably best.

I warn you that your first meal here might not be the most extravagant, but otherwise we are, at least, somewhat provided for.

[She made a gesture to the stairs.]

Let's go, then, the cafeteria is the bottom-most floor in the Tower.

I'm sure that I'll be able to handle it. It can't be any worse than what Eowyn made Aragorn eat.

[With a smile, he nodded and joined her on the stairs. Damn, he had just been coming up to.]

I have no idea how bad that might've been! But the oatmeal isn't so bad.

[A small pause.]

It's just, you know, oatmeal.

I've never had it so I can't be any judge of that.

[He laughs very softly.]

Oh. I'm sorry, I hope I'm not... setting up a negative bias or something.

[The hulking suit shrugs apologetically.]

I just... find it uncomfortably bland.

No no, that's quite alright. Everybody has an opinion of something, I'm glad to hear them.

Really?

[She sounds interested.]

Though I suppose that makes sense, listen to others before making up your own mind.

I've never found it to be in anyone's favor to ignore other opinions. It's good for learning, and getting to udnerstand others.

You are a sensible man, then.

[Eleanor's tone is one of deep approval.]

I am glad that you think so.

[She nods again, as they finally reach the cafeteria floor.]

Let's see about getting you that oatmeal, now.

I can hardly wait.

[It's an amused and friendly sort of sarcasm he uses.]

[Eleanor snickers at that and approaches one of the tables, pausing to get her helmet and her gloves off, since they aren't precisely the most useful when it comes to navigating the kitchen.]

Wait here.

Alright, I'll await your return.

[A smile, still, and he sits down, watching Eleanor.]

[After a few moments, Eleanor came back out, carrying a plate of plain oatmeal with her. She presented it to Legolas with a small wry smile.]

Here you go.

[Welp... It still looked more edible than Eowyn's cooking, not going to lie.]

Thank you. It would be rude of me to eat in front of you though so--

[From his clothes, he withdrew a small piece of bread, wrapped in a large leaf.]

I'll share this with you.

...is he talking about Gimli? Because I'll be offended if he's thinking about Gimli. :|

He'd never think of Gimli like that!

Of course, my bad...

... Okay, maybe when they first met. But not now.
