The logical conclusion

Characters: One extremely sleepy Equius Zahhak and YOU.
Setting: Anywhere and everywhere.

Summary: After being killed by the Grand Highblood, who just so happens to be his roommate, Equius has decided to simply stop sleeping in his room altogether. I think we all know what happens next.
Warnings: None.

[The premise of this thread is very simple: you have entered a room, and there's Equius, sleeping somewhere he shouldn't be.]

[Okay. So, this is basically the worst decision he could have possibly made. A few days after he respawned, Equius simply decided that he could get along with sleeping in the cafeteria instead of in his dormitory room like a good woolbeast. Unfortunately, as anyone familiar with the Tower could explain, any sleep you get outside of the dorms will do nothing to rest you. So basically, he's been trying to go about daily Tower business, but he's apparently fallen asleep in some... really unfortunate places. Under a cafeteria table, in the center aisle of the cathedral, right on the stairs. The bags under his eyes and general pallor of his face suggest that he hasn't slept in a while, of course.]

No, I mean... he didn't do anything wrong. It's just me trying to... to, I don't know, avoid it or something.

He killed you in your own room. [her tone is flatter than a Kansas prairie] That is pretty much grounds for you to want to avoid that happening again, in case you didn't know.

He killed me on the floor with the projections and exploding planets, not the respiteblock. [He tries to say this as if it's a reasonable argument. It's not, and he fails.] I... I've been trying to avoid him since I came here. And... and that was fine, because you're not supposed to get in a highblood's way. But not... just... running away. After he's already found you.

That running away thing? That's called a survival instinct and contrary to what you think, it's a good thing. [she sighs, rubs the bridge of her nose. she understood that other species did things differently, but this was really just unacceptable.]

Look, I know for some godforsaken reason you think that this shit is acceptable and I really don't have the patience to try and beat it out of your thick skull. But you shouldn't be afraid of even going into your own room. That needs to stop right now, and if you're not going to do anything about it then I will.

[Equius opens his mouth to argue after that bit about the survival instinct, but he keeps quiet long enough for her to speak.] No it's not a good thing, it's disrespect is what it is. And... but, what can you do about it? [You're kind of a small human with stupid glasses. And look what happened last time small people with stupid glasses crossed the Grand Highblood.]

I can fix it so he can't hurt you again. [the amount of confidence Rose says this with belies the fact that she's not exactly sure just how to do that yet. but it doesn't really matter. she was clever, she'd find a way. after all, after taking on the hell that was Sburb she didn't particularly feel inclined to be afraid of one big alien who picked on little kids.]

Oh, and for the record? A little disrespect's a good thing to have. It keeps everyone on their toes.

[He just looks... extremely doubtful about all of this. No, you don't... you don't say you're going to 'fix' a subjugglator and just do it. They don't work that way. They never have worked that way. And that thing about the disrespect just makes no sense, disrespecting people gets you killed -- not that he's been doing such a good job by beating himself up about it, but... you know, everything about Rose is just baffling right now, so he's just going to clarify something real quick.]

Which is the same fucking thing that happens when you kiss their asses! If you're probably going to get hurt either way the best thing to do is try and stop the fuckery causing it in the first place.

I'd rather have one worthless yellowblood die than God-knows-how-many others when they go on rampage.

And I'd rather lose a shit ton of people in a place where they come back anyway than let them keep going and rack up the body count for years.
