Characters: Kanaya and YOU
Setting: 4th floor (lounge) , 7th floor (pool)
Format: Starting in action tags, will match you
Summary: Kanaya sews, Kanaya swims
Warnings: None, will update if need be
4th Floor
[Kanaya had carried her sewing machine to the 4th floor to get some work done and to get her mind off of things. It's been a while since she let herself just sit and sew, take her mind off of things.]
[She threads her needle and readies her black fabric, the familiar action was calming and even though she had no particular plan in mind, she began]
[Until the needle snapped]
How unfortunate. It seems there is no relaxing here.
7th Floor
[It wasn't outside but it would do. The forest the floor below had set of an instinctual mental warning, a forest in a building was wrong and asking for troubles. While the pool wasn't much better, it seemed a tad safer.]
[Not that she was worried about her life. If she were to die, she died but prolonging her life may prove advantageous for others in the future]
[For now she took off her flats, placing them neatly by her side, pulled up her skirt a bit, and dipped her feet into the water.]
[In retrospect, she should have brought a book]

We exist in different, coinciding time lines.

You succumbed to the darkness.
[that wasn't a question]
Did you survive?

[Not many words were necessary.]

[softer] Rose...
We both should be dead. Perhaps this tower is not all bad.

You made me believe.

[wait for it]
[wait for it]
You are not one to lie to me, and while I am not as skilled at sensing your human sarcasm, I sense none emanating from your words.
You're being truthful?
[give it a while to sink in, maybe she'll fangirl over it a bit]

Not only that, but if my sources are correct, you also disposed of Eridan before he could further harm others.
no subject
[Score!]
How exactly did that occur? I do not recall coming into contact with anything particularly supernatural.
At least I did some good. [hellooo bitterness]

[Pause.] Do you recall how Dave and I argued over our suicide mission?
no subject
[she thinks] I do not. Does it coincide with my turning?

On my way, I will be going through the dream bubbles, and see those trolls that are both alive and dead. I was wondering if perhaps... you could take the time for a nap so that I may perhaps see you? Before I go?
I would... appreciate it.
no subject
[back to her normal tone] But what I have learned from speaking to you is that you will not listen to my suggestions, so when the time comes, I will nap and see you in the dream bubble, for the last time.
no subject
...Thank you, Kanaya. [She leans forward a little, bumping their foreheads together gently.] It is not that I don't wish to listen to your suggestions, I just... There are things that must be done. This is one of them.
...I told you that I did not have many friends beyond the internet, did I not?
no subject
[she leans against Rose] You do what you must, I respect and admire that trait.
Yes, you did?
no subject
The more accurate statement is that beyond the internet, I had no friends. You see, Kanaya... John, Dave, and Jade... they are my best friends, and the family I did not have with my own Mother. My moirails, as it were. I do not want them to be harmed, and I want to give them the chance to live on and succeed in life. That is why I am willing to sacrifice myself as such. If myself being gone will allow them to live on, then that is something I am willing to do. That is why I did not want Dave to take the mission-- it is my mission.
And now... I have found others in which I want to save aswell. Like you, Kanaya. Like your friends.
no subject
You do not need to see people face to face in order to be friends. But if they are your moirails, would they not be happier with you alive with them? Dave's fighting against your decision is proof enough of that.
[she opens her eyes and looks, really looks, at Rose] Don't go on with the mission.
