Characters: Riku and open to everyone from the KH cast
Setting: All around the tower; backdated to 9th - 14th April
Format: I'll match to whatever you like!
Summary: Riku needs to talk to/reassure/warn/interrogate certain people. This feeling may or may not be mutual, so TL;DR is unavoidable.
Warnings: Can't think of anything right now, will add as needed!
[With all that has happened, it's impossible not to leave things be as they are; so much is clear. Whether Riku will find you or you'll find him, is not really important at this point - somehow you'll surely find an opportunity to meet.]
[ooc: Alright, just give me a date and a place, and we'll work it out from there! /o/]

If only she thought that way instead--][So many people seek power, for many reasons, both good and bad, and in ways not always safe for themselves or for anyone. To seek it here, well-- perhaps that's especially dangerous regardless.]
[Looking after him is something she intends to do her best at, and right now, that seems to imply actual looking, because she hasn't turned away. She gives him time, plenty of it, and then, finally, so very gently, almost as if to ease him awake from some sleep,]
Riku?

Maybe in time...Maybe. But there is also danger in staying idle. There is danger all around them, risk in each move that is open to them. He can't let that stop him.
Later, he won't be sure just how long he has set there thinking like this despite feeling her eyes resting on him, so her saying his name is indeed like a wake-up call (a very gentle one). It still takes a moment for him to move, to turn his head back to her and tilt it upwards, a light frown on his face.]
...What is it?
no subject
Maybe. But it's a big maybe.][It's much too true, yes. Can't let fear stop him... but where has that been said before?]
[She's not certain, herself. Time has never meant very much to her, never been something she focused on save out of necessity, and even if it did, she'd offer it to him gladly, as she already has. She's content to wait for him to wake up, and when he turns he's met with a patient, unhurried gaze. And then,]
... Please. Don't lose yourself.
[But how does she mean that? In his thoughts, or in his pursuits, or in something else?]
no subject
That's a start at least!...It's not like that. He's not storming forward blindly, recklessly. It's more about being brave... no matter how deep a Darkness he faces. Or how brightly the Light shines. He'll find his way from one to the other.
There is a pause before he answers; not because he's hesitant or because he doesn't understand just how many levels this question can be applied to, but nevertheless he takes a minute or two, before he smiles faintly.]
Don't worry. I won't.
[He can make this promise now, even with his plans only half-formed. Because while he isn't quite sure on the how... he sure knows who's power has no place in any of them.]
no subject
... At least.][Oh, she knows - she knows he's older, now, perhaps even more so than the actual amount of time that passed, and she knows that he's grown. (She's yet proud of him, for that.) He's learned well, it's true, even if a more mature way of looking at things can still draw forth memories of memories of things that were not so well-considered.]
[He's given that time willingly, her patience unfailing. And slowly, at his answer, she smiles. A promise not in so many words, maybe, but a promise.]
Good.
[Softly, and only once that first part has had a moment to settle,]
You'd better not.
[There's no lack of faith in it; it's only a slightly belated attempt to lighten the mood and obviously humorously intended in her odd, slightly awkward little way.]
no subject
A promise it is, one not given lightly. He'd never dare to make it, if he wasn't one-hundred-percent certain about his intent and ability to keep it.
A laugh escapes him at her tease and when he looks up to her, there is a real smile on his face, one that doesn't show any uncertainty, hesitation or exhaustion. Only affection.]
no subject
[Maybe being aware of that is what makes her smile a little wider, even before he laughs.]
[When he does laugh, it's a very pleasant surprise, and her cheeks ache threateningly - gracious, all that smiling is going to make her face sore. But oh, it's impossible not to smile when he's got that look on his face. Something in her chest feels funny, but in a good way - it's so strange, so wonderfully strange, to be looked at that way, with affection. It's not something she's used to and not something she thought she'd ever see, and a portion of her mind tells her insistently that she's got no right to such a look, which sobers her just slightly, but still she smiles back, warmly and sincerely. She's not the only one getting an affectionate look.]

He shifts his hand up again, letting his fingertips ghost over the back of her hand once more before he pulls himself up to his feet. He has imposed on her for long enough now.]
no subject
[The motion makes her blink, though she does not move away or do anything to discourage him. Even though she saw what he was doing, the touch still comes as a surprise, and she watches him with slightly widened eyes. After a moment, though, she smiles without distraction once more, warm and kind. She can guess at what he means to do, and so she says,]
You don't have to leave, you know.
[But she says it with no accusation, no request or order or any attempt to chain him. It's an offer and nothing more. Whether to accept it or not is entirely his choice.]
no subject
He nods at her words; he knows what she's offering and he knows she probably wouldn't mind if he accepted, but... there is Xion to check up on. And Sora. And generally everyone who had been involved on their side of this mess.]
I know.
[He knows that he could stay, but he won't. Not when he feels his restlessness stir already.]
no subject
[Perhaps she feels it too, or perhaps she just knows him too well; either way, she seems to recognize what his answer means. Smiling slightly, she nods. He's got other things to attend to, of course. He needn't say more.]
... Until later, then.
no subject
He shoots her a smile,] Until later. [Then he turns towards the door to leave. Time for him to be strong again.]
