1st Song ☠ | Introduction

Characters: Eikichi (Michel) and whatever poor sap would like to talk with him.
Setting: And floor, all the corridors, day and night, it's all up to you, he'll be running around.
Format: I started in prose, but you can pick a style, and I'll match it!
Summary: Eikichi finds himself in the tower and everything is terrible.
Warnings: Eikichi is a warning onto himself.

Victory had never been so bittersweet. After defeating the Great Father, finding out the entire thing had been a bet between Philemon and Nyarlathotep, the world destroyed and with Maya stuck by the spear ending her life, all that had remained was a chance giving to them to go back in time. However, they'd have to give up their memories their friendships of each other. Considering the fate of the world and their friend was at stake, it was a heavy price that Eikichi did not mind to give up willingly. After all, friendship was more powerful than the bonds of space and time, he thought and even if they had not met as children, he was certain they'd see each other one day again.

But now, here he was, inside a tower and a note that his world had been destroyed. No shit, it had been destroyed. Needless to say, Eikichi wasn't too pleased. Goddamnit, all of this, everything around him, a cruel joke, ALL FOR NOTHING?! Had this been Philemon's fault...oh just wait until that butterfly masked asshole came to talk again, he was going to get a fist to the face.

Well, now that he was here, he could make the most of it, he supposed. Eikichi wasn't expecting to find his friends - what with the word having ended, after all, and somewhat guilty that he still had his memories intact. Hopefully the world ending hadn't been his fault. He'd never forgive himself--yeah best not to think about it. He opened up his trunk and found his guitar case in thirty or so smaller pieces. Yet it looked somewhat easy to rebuilt, even for him, and before long the pieces clamped together like a jigsaw puzzle. The Lgendary Guitar Case was made whole again. Swinging it over his shoulders, he closed the door to his room, and walked out.

[ He looks quietly contemplative. It's a minute or so before he actually speaks again, thinking aloud, at this point. ]

... Well, you are from the past from our perspective, Mishina-san. I can only speculate on what I know, we were kept in the dark a lot, but we've found out plenty on our own. As far as I'm aware, the Dark Hour was an accident, but it lets us summon freely. Of course, it also turns that school Gekkoukan into Tartarus, or the Tower of Demise--a Shadow Nest, essentially, but...

[ Ugh, this is giving him a headache. He hadn't accounted for any of that. ]

All that I know about it is that it IS possible to summon without that environment, but it's... extremely difficult. Same with the Evokers. They're amplifiers, because you need that emotional turmoil or feeling of being near death to call forth your Persona in the first place.

[ After a moment, he sort of just rubs the back of his neck, sighing, and shakes his head. ]

... I don't know, it's confusing if I don't have all the pieces. I only know so much. Are you part of an actual group of Persona users, or...

[ ... He is a patient listener, and it is a good thing that he is indeed. ]

I want to know--why is it, that every Persona user either didn't ask for their abilities or got stuck with them and their lives were ruined because of it?

What my friends and I have to just to survive is--

[ ... He bits his lip. "Murder. Thieving. Selling drugs and guns and weapons, smuggling, hopping from place to place, avoiding the law, never feeling secure"... not stuff he should say. ]

It isn't right. But it must have worked, if we're still around. I don't pretend to understand much, but we have to be from the same timeline in some form, if you're around, Mishina-san.

For what it's worth, I can relate, somewhat. My family died in an accident due to the Dark Hour; so did my sister. But... you have no reason to be afraid of anyone dying. Even if it's before you, it's not something you should be distressed over.

I learned that a long time ago.
