01 - Open
Characters: Yuri and anyone who runs into him
Setting: His room, floor 38, then going down - so basically everywhere!
Format: Prose to start - I'll match you.
Summary: Yet another newcomer to the tower...
Warnings: Some mild swearing, and possible fighting.
Well, that was one hell of a letter to wake up to. And also one he didn’t quite believe until he gathered his surroundings and found he had been collared like livestock. Not exactly the best thing to wake up to, but maybe there’d been worse. At least right now he could believe that he’s been forced to participate in someone’s elaborate prank. For now, he’ll just figure out the basics and get answers. It seemed whoever brought him here was nice enough to give him decent clothing and his weapons, so he really couldn’t complain that much. Hey, at least his captors were nice!
Going out to explore, he thought to first go to the floor below, which was nice enough to give him the view that, no, this may not be a prank, as he looked down at the clouds through the glass. Well, he still refuses to believe his world was destroyed. They were fighting to make sure that wasn’t going to happen. Dammit! It was too damn convenient to think that maybe he didn’t remember the events of Tarqaron and facing Duke, but then again, he was pretty sure he’d never forget it. For now, he’ll keep his calm. At least, any one observing him would notice he’s been calm all along. This isn’t the time to panic. This is the time to figure out just what the hell’s going on. And down he went yet another floor to gather more clues…

"Yuri!"
Book? What book? She's totally forgotten it in favor of jumping up and sprinting across the grass to hug him.

“Estelle?!”
If she’s here, then she likely woke up with the same ominous letter… and likely she took it seriously. There’s a moment when he feels kind of disappointed he didn’t get to witness that reaction, but now’s not the time for that, as he does end up placing a hand very lightly on the top of her head.
“You know what’s goin’ on here?”
Knowing her, she may have gotten a few answers already.

"Yes! Well, as much as anyone here has figured out." Estelle pauses, pulling away to peek behind him. "Is anyone else here with you?"
floor 22-24, because endless loops are fun
Huh...I could've sworn...

“None of the books here say anything? Guess not, if you don’t know.”
Hee~<3
Something wrong?

Oh, hello there. Nothing really, I was just coming up from floor 22 and I feel like I've forgotten something. Or...missed something. Like, missed all of floor 23, to be exact.

[He gives a bit of a derisive snort, but he also believes her... Maybe she wasn't fully awake yet?
And he goes down from floor 24 to floor 22 and just stands there, before going up again and looking down at that missing floor, cocking an eyebrow up at it.]
You're right...
[This place is definitely weird.]

"I'll keep on the lookout if I find anything. For now, gotta admit I'm a bit hungry. Is there a cafeteria or restaurant here?"

Not that he's going to complain, food is food, but he's never heard of having to eat something so specific first. But it's probably not the best idea to mess with unknown forces right now, or something. So with a shrug and a slight smile, he waits for her to get her book.

Told you. [She glances at the stairs.] It must be the Tower again. Kind of makes me want to keep going up and down the stairs to see if I can find floor 23.

You sure that's a good idea? I mean, what if that's the whole point that it wants to make you find this floor, then you're lost forever?
[Teasing as he says this, but also a concern of his. This tower is obviously cursed somehow, and he's not sure what to do other than pick up on minor signs that something is wrong.]

[She glances at him and grins sheepishly.]
I'll have to be more careful. Thanks.

[Doing small favors, he's capable of them. But he does smirk back at her.]
Don't go getting yourself lost.
