Setting: Everywhere or in the hallway near her room.
Format: Either works for me.
Summary: Chie finds herself waking up in a strange place, a place which is most certainly not the Amagi Inn. She is a little confused. Thus suspicious wandering ensues and kicking. Lots of kicking.
Warnings: Kicking, comedic violence, overreactions, potential angst, the power of friendship.

She had expected to wake up to the familiar feeling of well worn blankets and sounds of Amagi Inn bustling in the early morning. It on par with her own home in the morning, it almost relaxing to listen to when she first woke up. Chie instead found herself laying on a bed, stiff and unable to move. Panic swelling through her as her mind darted through the possibilities of how she was here.

Needlessly to say, it left Chie a little confused and angry. The letter did little to really comfort her, only bring up more questions. The brunette scrambling into her clothes, sliding her glasses on before stomping out of the room. She warily poking around, torn between wanting to see someone she knew here or just wanting to lurch her way through the hallways. Chie just hoped the letter was a lie- that they were somehow in the TV world. She almost wanted this to be some overly elaborate trick. The thought of everything she, they all knew, being gone just made the sixteen year old feel queasy. She was doing her best not to dwell on it as she glanced around, adjusting her glasses with a frown across her features.

[Its just what she does. She at least gives him a moment to think instead of butting in. Relief becoming clearer on her features with his words]

What are- some of the things that don't add up specifically? [She's really honestly hoping he'll reaffirm that spark of hope she has.]

Well... it's not much, but this is the biggest thing I don't get.

[And at least talking to Chie he won't feel like a complete idiot - thanks a lot, Naoto]

This tower - it can steal people from anyone and anywhere. It can take people from different times, from different universes - hell, I've even met people with doubles of themselves in the tower. But nobody I met actually knows how the world ended. Nobody.

If this were all true, how hard would it be to grab someone from right before the end of the world to tell us 'Hey, it's true and this is what happens'? Even just two or three people with the same story and it'd be easy to convince us, right?

Its still something at least- something that proves we maybe go home- [Yosuke's given Chie +3 hope. So she listens without cutting him off mid explanation. Still pensive even with the small flicker of hope.]

Yeah- that, makes sense. If our worlds had ended, one of us would know what happened, someone would know. We can't all not know. It just doesn't make any sense.

[And speaking of things that don't make sense... he just has to ask]

... hey, Chie.

You- you don't remember being here before?

[She's just staring initially but uncertainly answers him back.] ..N-no, I don't. I- was here?

For- how long?

[He's just as uncertain, but... she seems like regular old Chie, so he's willing to give the benefit of the doubt]

Only a week or two, but you were definitely here.

[Regular old Chie is kind of surprised at that.] Seriously-

I don't remember that at all. I, only remember going to bed at the Inn and- then all of this.

[... wait a second...]

Hold on, when were you at the Inn?

The school festival, remember? [The thought that he doesn't remember makes tension return to her shoulders.]

It just happened- [His words from earlier about different times comes back to Chie making he awkwardly add on.] ..uh, for me anyway.

[Oh hi there awkward position. Yosuke has a dumbfounded look on his face, because he's not sure what do. This was months ago for him and... shit]

Yeah... yeah, I remember!

[Maybe he can get lucky and play it off]

[For Chie it was a few hours ago. So she's just SORT OF LOST here.

So awkward pause time as Chie wonders what even is her life.]

What, do you remember last?

[Is he even supposed to answer that? What if time paradox? So instead he tries to lie in a horribly unconvincing fashion]

Uh, nothing major, just you know... a few days after the culture festival!

[kickymeat]

[This is already a time paradox, you both divided by zero. Everything is over.

Chie doesn't believe the lie, at all.]

...Yosuke, if I'm going to be here- I want to know. I can't just be- clueless.

[Dammit, they bad ended already?]

[... dammit Chie you never make things easy]

Okay, okay. The last major thing I remember is everyone meeting at the train station to send Yu off.

[Yes, 40 years of darkness, cats and dogs living together, mass hysteria.]

...Seriously? [Well, if that isn't a punch in the gut.] ..Wow. I, missed a lot.

[The end times, oh god!]

[No but seriously Chie, he feels bad. Those months were some of the most important times of their lives, and to miss them completely...]

... yeah. I-

I'm sorry, Chie.

[Chie is just conflicted, her expression pretty clearly sad and confused.]

Its.. not like you made this happen, you know.

I know, I just...

[WHY IS HE SO BAD AT THESE THINGS]

[Yu would know what to say. Yosuke just feels awkward]

... yeah.

Look, I've been here the longest of us, so if you need anything you can ask me. Alright?

[Because he is Yosuke. He and Chie share the power of AWKWARD.] How long have you been here?

[She hesitates before stepping a little closer. Spoiler: Yosuke is getting a hug in t-minus two seconds.]

About five mo-

[Okay, so most people would have seen that coming. But he's Yosuke, and she's Chie, and... are they allowed to have moments like this?]

[But confusion aside, he'll still return the hug, however brief it is, before continuing his answer]

About five months, now.

[His answer just earns a squeeze before Chie pulls away. She willing to forget their usual bickering and flailing for showing she cares about her friend.]

Five months- I... [She can't even manage to form a coherent sentence expressing what she's feeling at that.]

I- damn it. This place is stupid. [She gives a small frustrated sort of stomp of disapproval.]

[He wont admit it out loud but there's something adorable comforting about Chie's stomp of disapproval and he can't help but crack a smile]

Yeah, it is. That's the best way to describe it.

Only in a place this stupid could we be stuck here with Izanami.

[Oh wait, did he forget to mention that?]

[She resists her urge to stomp again just re=summarizing her feelings on the issue.] It's- really stupid.

[Chie you word smith, you.

Okay, that warrants a pause and confused blink.] ...What?

[Chie, why were you never captain of the debate team?]

[Yosuke flinches slightly when he realizes how large of an omission he's accidentally made, then swears inwardly when he realizes she doesn't even know about that yet. Oops!]

Uh... well, I can explain, but... you know, spoilers? Do you really want to know your own future?

[She busied herself with kicking ALL THE THINGS, gosh, Yosuke. A girl has priorities.]

Yosuke- I'd rather know than not have any idea whats going on. [She rests her hands on her hips and gives him a look.] I don't really care about 'spoilers'.
