Snack time
Characters: Mimio and anyone in the mood for sushi
Setting: Kitchen and cafeteria
Format: Starting in prose but I'll match you.
Summary: Mimio's been upset for a while now. What better way to cheer up than by cooking?
Warnings: None as of yet.
Fish, knives, rice cooking, and seaweed at the ready. Mimio was all set for this. He hadn't cooked for anyone in so long he'd have worried if he wasn't sure he knew what he was doing. He had recipes saved to his memory and was ready to go. The only thing he was waiting for now was the guy he'd talked to in the game and on the network after. He could hardly contain his excitement; meeting someone and making dinner, this was a red-letter day in his books.
Waiting any longer was out of the question, his tail was twitching from side to side in impatience. And it wouldn't hurt to get a bit of an early start, preparing the fish.

He peered in to the kitchen to see who or what was there, eyeing up the fish to see if there were any kinds he recognized.

"Hello there," he grinned, setting the knife down. "I've only just got a start, so if ya can wait a bit I'm gonna have th' first batch out. If yer okay with sushi, that is."

He went back to preparing the fish, chatting as he worked. "Th' name's Mimio. What's yers?"
no subject
"Xehanort," he replied simply. "A pleasure to meet you."

Now, the cafeteria kitchens are not exactly the most popular place in the Tower. But ever since he got here Equius has been clinging to them like glue, and this has led him to a lot of interesting cultural discoveries when he walked out to fetch some grubs from his room or something and came back to someone else making their own meal. That was what happened today. Though currently it seemed that the cat-tailed human was standing around doing nothing.
"Er... did you need help with something?"
no subject
"Nah, but thank ya," he said, his astonishment audible. "'m just about ta start, just takin' it in fer a moment. I ain't had much of a chance ta cook since I got here..."
no subject
Equius tilts his head slightly at Mimio's admission. Certainly, he hadn't ever seen the cat-eared human around before -- and almost all of his time in the Tower so far had been spent cooking in here. Still, he allowed his curiosity to get the better of him, and he walked closer. "What will you make?"
no subject
"'m gonna make sushi, if ya want any. It's somethin' ta do, right?" He wasn't about to give away how it reminded him of home, after all, he didn't know who this guy was, and the last thing he wanted to do was start an argument in what was supposed to be his relaxation time.

"Hello! It's Shion."
no subject
"Hey!" He laughed happily, extending a hand. "Good ta finally meetcha face ta face."
no subject
It was amazing how human, or... cat-human he looked even in person. "Are you ready?" He went over to the cupboards to begin getting bowls and things since he knew Mimio had never been in here before.
no subject
A question occurred to the cat. "So d'ya cook in here a lot?"
no subject
He began rummaging through cupboards for ingredients.

At first she didn't say anything, simply taking a seat nearby and looking over at the odd person making it, her head resting on her arms.
"I tink joo be da first one I see cookin' in dis place... And I gotta admit mon, it looks, and definitely smells great."
no subject
"Really? Ya'd think there'd be more people cookin' their own stuff here, if I'da known we could use th' kitchens earlier I'da been cookin' more frequently. But thank ya, all th' same." He settled back into slicing the fish up, though he didn't stop chatting even as he worked. "Th' name's Mimio, what's yours?"
no subject
"Mimio huh? I like it, it be a nice soundin' name. I'm Xue'Kol, ya can call me Xue if ya be wantin' ta."
no subject
A faint blush came to his face, he'd never heard that his name sounded nice and the compliment completely took him by surprise. But it didn't stop him from laughing. "Thanks, I like yer name too! So, Xue, ya got any favorites I could make fer ya? I got a bit of everythin' back here, or at least everythin' I could recognize."
no subject
"Hmm, well if ya be offerin' it ain't like me ta push a good meal aside! I be quite fond of deep sea fish, but I dunno if the fish from back 'ome be da same as da ones here. Anyting like salmon, grouper, sweetfish or eel is good by me. But I be bettin' anyting joo make be bound ta be delish."

Hahaha is that a Necoco
"What are you doing?"
Hehehe, so very close! Right canon though!
"Ya scared th' livin' daylights outta me! Didn't ya ever learn not ta scare someone like that?" Never mind that he wasn't even enough of a fighter to know to keep hold of the one thing that could have protected him from an unknown threat, but he'd conveniently forget that for the time. "An' ta answer yer question, I'm makin' sushi. I'm kinda homesick, ya see, an' I thought cookin'd help."
oh, right, he was the aggressive uke in part 2
At any rate, this demon didn't seem like a hostile one, so she relaxed just a little.
Yup. XD I've seen a Necoco before, but I don't know if they made the move to DW.
He wasn't so sure about this new girl here, but he allowed himself to settle just a little. If he was nice, perhaps he'd be okay.
Re: Yup. XD I've seen a Necoco before, but I don't know if they made the move to DW.
"I've only been here a few days," she said, looking over at his ears, as if not quite sure if they were real or not. "...I've never seen a demon like you. Is your master here?"
