Snack time
Characters: Mimio and anyone in the mood for sushi
Setting: Kitchen and cafeteria
Format: Starting in prose but I'll match you.
Summary: Mimio's been upset for a while now. What better way to cheer up than by cooking?
Warnings: None as of yet.
Fish, knives, rice cooking, and seaweed at the ready. Mimio was all set for this. He hadn't cooked for anyone in so long he'd have worried if he wasn't sure he knew what he was doing. He had recipes saved to his memory and was ready to go. The only thing he was waiting for now was the guy he'd talked to in the game and on the network after. He could hardly contain his excitement; meeting someone and making dinner, this was a red-letter day in his books.
Waiting any longer was out of the question, his tail was twitching from side to side in impatience. And it wouldn't hurt to get a bit of an early start, preparing the fish.

Sushi plated, he sat the dish in front of Xue, excited to see if she liked it. "Here's a starter, but if ya want more jus' tell me."
no subject
With that out of the way, it was chow time! Xue went right for the rolls with a big smile that only grew bigger as she bit into the delicious roll. A delighted sound escaped her lips and she gave Mimio a big thumbs up.
"Ya weren't kiddin' mon! Dees be great!"
no subject
His smile only grew as he saw her enjoyment. "Thank ya! 'm glad ya like 'em!" He threw himself into making more sushi for her; it was like being home again, sort of, and he could almost forget just where he was.
no subject
"I gotta admit mon, joor really good at this. Dat was sum of da best I evah be havin'!"
no subject
"'m glad. I haven't made much more, but yer welcome ta what I have. An' I'll start in on some other kinds, ya might like 'em too." he smiled.
no subject
"Usually we were strictly hired by one of da warrin' sides of mah world, but occasionally we be gettin' jobs from the others." she shrugged.
At the offer, she smiled cheerily, "'Ey mon, I don't be mindin' tryin' out new tings mahself!"

Her assurance was really the last spur he needed, and Mimio started working on an inside-out roll, or as close to one as he could get with what he had. He made sure he could pack more fish into it, slicing off a few more slivers to add.

Xue looked over curiously at his handiwork, an eager smile on her face as she witness the work put into the roll.

The attention to his work didn't bother him, and he didn't mind showing how he put the sushi together. In fact, her watching made him feel rather pleased.

"Always be wonderin' wat it would be like ta live peacefull fer once." Xue shrugged and laughed it off a little.
"But wat can ya do right mon? S'jus' da way tings are I suppose."
no subject
"Well, I guess ya could say this is peaceful? Well, sorta. I dunno, would ya really call this peace?" he asked, quick to change the subject.
no subject
She nodded once more, "It be a relative peace I s'posin' mon. Seems as long as ya stay outta trouble joo should be fine." It's when trouble comes to find you that you should worry...
no subject
"Yeah, they don't make it easy here though, do they?" he asked, a shaky laugh following.
no subject
"Naw, dey don't seem like dey be wantin' ta make it easy on us. Which makes me wondah wat dey be plannin'."
no subject
"Nothin' good, if what we've seen so far is any indication," he muttered, face darkening.
no subject
And she didn't like that at all. She had already been something's toy before and it had been incredibly unpleasant. She was hoping this was different.
no subject
"Yeah? Well, this doll ain't too pleased with th' idea. I'd like ta ask 'em a couple'a questions. Like why'd they pick who they picked?"
no subject
"Jus' askin' cause I be sure a great deal of da denizens would be havin' more dan a few choice words wit em'."
And most where probably not too kind.
no subject
"Yeah, I got a few things I'd like ta let loose on 'em for."
no subject
She simply smiled at him and relaxed on her chair. "Ey' mon, don't be sweatin' it. I be sure we'll get wat we be wantin' soonah or latah. Jus' gotta hang on and not be givin' up yanno?"
