So would I, but I do not want to die either. Isn't there anything we can do to stop this?

[ As much of a deal as she may make about sacrifice, and preferring Disciple survive if only one of them could, Dolorosa isn't really excited with the idea, either. But she's not exactly about to say that, only look especially tentative. ]

I...really couldn't say. I'm still learning what I can of this new setting, but at this point it's been rather reticent in regards to methods of escape.

[She felt slightly let down by her words, because she too felt the same way. She still didn't want to give up though and looked at Dolorosa with determined eyes.]

Do not worry about that. I will look hard for an escape for us.

[She then let go of her, and showed Rosa her paint set and quills.]

I've been marking where I first started on the walls. If we travel far looking for an exit, we can use the markings to help us keep track of where we have been!

[ She glances over the marks with curiosity. ]

An interesting maneuver, but it has potential to act as a double-edged sword. What should transpire if an unfriendly element uses this to track us? [ Yes, "us", as Dolorosa didn't expect to let Disciple out of her sight henceforth. ]

[She shakes her head and waves her hands at her.]

It is ok! I have my very own color system going for me. Whichever color we use, we will use for a certain direction.

[She gives Dolorosa a sheet of paper with the codes:
Yellow > North/Straight, Red > South/Down, Green > East/Left, Blue > West/Right.]

[ She peers at the sheet, letting it settle in. ]

I see! So, anyone who may stumble upon our marks would only encounter the second by a mere strike of luck, only being given opportunity to discern their meaning in the unlikely event that should they happen upon multiple occurrences.

[She hears her words and chuckles nervously.]

Do not worry. We will still change it up every now and then! We just have to make time to come up with a system we all agree with.

That is...if you want to go through with it still?

[mamadonna]

[ Dolorosa places a reassuring hand on the Disciple's shoulder. ]

I wouldn't dare separate from you now that we've been reunited! Though a regular reassignment of our markers may prove just as confusing to us, should we not recall the time a particular one was placed.

[She smiles back, relaxing to her touch.]

Thank goodness, because I wouldn't want to separate from you either. The only reason I thought up this elaborate scheme was so that neither of us would be harmed.

[In fact, Disciple would lose it if anybody touched Dolorosa in a bad way.]

[mamadonna]

[ Which is...why Dolorosa's probably going to be hesitant to share her circumstances from home for a while. ]

And should they manage to penetrate that, I'll make certain they do not ultimately succeed in such an attempt.

[She knew she could rely on her smarts! Of course, they were one of the many traits she always admired from Dolorosa.]

Let us both succeed in that endeavor! I know once we put our minds to it, we can escape with no problem.

Now we just need a lead...

[ Dolrosa stops to take stock of their current position, acclimating herself with the maze surrounding them. ]

You approached from that direction, and I from this one. That should narrow the selections we would make to continue our progression.

[bloodwriter]

Right!

[She looks on at the other two directions they didn't come out of, and heads towards one of them.]

I do not hear anything bad coming out from this one. Although, once I see further down, there are a few marks on the right side of the wall.

[mamadonna]

[ She steps behind the Disciple for a better look of her own. ]

Do they originate from your palette?

[bloodwriter]

[She furrows her brow some.]

Not really. Which means someone else thought of my idea as well. We best be careful there.

I guess our only option is the other path, unless you think this one here is good enough to travel through?

[mamadonna]

Probably best not to risk it. [ She turns around, ready to head down the opposite direction. ] We'll want to be mindful of the rear guard, should they, by chance, close in from behind.

[bloodwriter]

[She nods in agreement and follows her.]

Let me know if you see anything unusual. I want to make sure I can protect you from harm's way.

[ Dolorosa smirks. ] Assuming I don't attempt the maneuver first!
