[Far too many close calls indeed, and Ventus is starting to wish that he had his keyblade, if only for the curespell. The bandages and healing balm he got have helped, but... He'd rather magic.

Still, the young man has been fighting - taking out the monsters as the come. And now that he's done, he's panting - but also very, very alert to sounds.

His head whips around as soon as he hears Yu, hand tightening around his switchblade.]

[He would go for any of his Personae at the time being, otherwise quietly defending himself with the axe. At least, until he heard someone else panting nearby.

Yu spins around, ready to defend when he recognizes who it is.]

...Ventus-san?

... [Ventus pauses at the voice, then shifts. He's still very, very much in fight or fight mindset, more so given that he's just been fighting the monsters.

One wrong sound from Yu, and Ventus will attack. Life over Morals, and while Yu is... maybe someone that could be called an acquaintance, Ventus doesn't care.

It is kill or be killed after all and he's on edge.] .....

I'm not going to-

[Yu doesn't attack him, rather he's grimacing as another monster appears. He doesn't have his powers, only an axe, and judging by the others' stance...

He doesn't have a choice, because he wants to live, too. He swings the axe at the monster that nearly tackled him.

Ventus doesn't have time to think about that. The fact that there is another monster has him reaction, lunching for it. He might not have his keyblade, but damned if he's about to let anyone die (somewhere, someday he'll realise that it's because he does think of Yu as a friend. That day is far off though). So, don't mind him trying to get in close to the monster.

A minor team up - just until they get ride of the monster. HE can't - won't trust Yu right now. Or so he'll tell himself. It's easier to not think, to just fall back on what he knows.

It's easier, after all.]

[Whether he does soon or not isn't much of his concern at the moment, if only because fight or flight is screaming at him to survive. There are people counting on him, friends that will need him with them during and after this is over. He can't fail them now when they'll need him most.

Yu strikes at it's neck the second after Ventus' blow lands, and he winces. 'Izanagi... why won't you answer?' One more strike, and this one will be done for.]

...not going to attack you.

[He finishes his sentence, but not quite lowering his guard--just in case. One never knew when the next attack would come. He's an optimist, not stupid.]

[Ventus's strike will finish the monster off. He then turns to Yu, headtilting a bit then nodding carefully.] ..Oh.

[Yu's guard might be up, but Ventus is still wired, mind screaming at him that he should just attack, don't take any chances. That this a trick. But, at the same time, Yu's been kind to him, patient and hasn't pushed.

Does he want to take a chance, to drop his guard just a fraction?

... Maybe it will be OK...] I...won't either.

[He'll slowly relax and start to come out of the fight-stance, but he's still very, very much on a hair trigger.]

[Yu decides it's safe to lower the axe for now, looking around to make sure no other monsters were approaching. This was getting to be too reminiscent of the TV world for his own liking. Only thing it's missing is the fog.]

Hanging in there?

[Because obviously he's concerned for a friend; why wouldn't he be?]
