Summary: In which Eridan pretends he knows how to sew. Spoilers, he doesn't. Backdated to before the Labyrinth event!

[It's really not that hard, he figures, to use his torn jacket as a pattern and make a new one with some scraps of red fabric lying around. It's just. Cutting fabric and sewing it together. How hard can it be?

Apparently, very hard and not really a project for the uninitiated.

He's left the whole mess on a workbench for now, focusing on patching up his other pair of pants. That, at least, he's relatively used to. It's not the neatest of stitch-work, but at least it'll hold.

At least, he thinks with grim amusement, he has two hands now, to do this. Otherwise it'd be well and truly hopeless.]

[Eridan snorts. Real loud. He thinks about Taiki and the horrified look on his face, watching Eridan die.]

Not really, that's just something they tell you to try and make you feel better about it. Gifts can and will suck.

[He's not an idiot. Honest. He can put two and two together, but still. He squints and thinks of something no one else has seen or known about: His battle with his Denizen. Watch them all jadebros falling dead, over and over again, as they steadily chip away Hephaestus' health bar. Thinking hard on that, Eridan answers in a neutral tone:]

Not for the poor sucker stuck with it, no, but there are others who benefit from it, too.

[Okay no Eridan stop he doesn't like seeing this much death in such a relatively short period of time, he's starting to look legitimately upset here why are you dying. In fact, why are there many yous dying.]

I guess? But wouldn't your friends be upset knowing you've died over and over and over? ...A lot of overs, even.

[Oh. Hey. Cool. A shovel just randomly appeared in his hand. After you saw him shoot and fight and yes, wail at a giant denizen. With a shovel. Coincidence?]

[The look from Yori's face goes from upset to just...sad, once he realizes that Eridan's got it figured out. There's a reason why Namiyo used to say he should sometimes just shut up and not say anything, because god you suck at hiding your abilities and react to things normal people shouldn't be able to react to to begin with. And then people get upset at him, or worse, angry or afraid or any combination of the three.]

[Eridan pushes his sunglasses up into his hair, eyes narrowed.]

[And for the first time this entire conversation, Yori actually sounds...totally lucid. Lucid compared to how he always sounded like he wasn't entirely there before, anyway.]

I swear. I have kept the thoughts of over 300,000 people secret from anyone but themselves. One more person in a tower of approximately 130 or so isn't difficult.

[Eridan nods, relaxes, puts the shovel away.]

Now sit down, holy shit, I'm sorry.

I wasn't kiddin' about you lookin' like you were gonna kneel over earlier.

[Gosh it's not your fault he can't help the telepathy okay 8( Put Eridan pushes him to sit easily enough, since this is gangly albino who was fed via IV for like 5 years of his life. Particularly when he was still growing.]

Urm, it's okay. People think of a lot of scary stuff, sometimes? And there's not a lot to help when I can't turn it off or anything.
