004 | ❝I pretend everything's alright...❞
Characters: Yu and anyone else who is interested in group therapy...
Setting: Dorm 2-2 →Floor 14 → Floor 22 → Everywhere but the music floor for more than PMMM reasons.
Format: Any is fine; I'll follow your lead
Summary: Just a protagonist, seeking his social links...
Warning: Do I even have to warn about SMT shenanigans and them equating to suffering?
Reality and nightmare had begun to blend together at the end of his "punishment" where he had no idea which part had been the truth for a brief moment. Lying there, face down... feeling the static spread as the blood dripped down. He wants to flinch, but even then... he couldn't do that as he lay there, paralyzed for what seemed like an eternity that blended in with the nightmare of being completely alone and utterly helpless to-
The first thing he noticed when he could move was that his face and pillows were soaked in silent tears. It isn't long after that that, unless stopped, he shakily makes his way to the showers in an attempt to calm down...
Floor 14
The first place he even thought about going was the media floor again, knowing with little doubt that he would more than likely run into one of the friends he'd been looking for. Just... any familiar face right now would be a relief to him.
He sat back on a couch, deciding to play a video game for a while. Though just by glancing either at him or the screen, it's obvious his heart wasn't in it.
Floor 22
Yu soon retreats, however- back upstairs to a floor he'd been avoiding ever since their collars had been tampered with not long after he'd awakened here. At first it had been because of what he could remember happening here, but then he learned what had happened when he lost control himself. Realized that he'd been running scared of what could be triggered if he returned here.
Not anymore, though right now he needed the silence. Not so many people visited the gallery with whatever it could show of their fears, and hadn't he just been forced to live through his own-?
He decided to pointedly look away from the image of his world covered in the fog, even as a silent tear fell. Even though he knew at least a few were still here, the crushing despair and emptiness of that experience...
"Damn." How could he ever forgive himself for falling for such an obvious example of false imagery?
Floor 25
This meadow... it almost reminded him of the last time he saw the TV world...
But it and the other floors aren't the only ones he visited, searching for any familiar faces to make sure they're alright, even at the expense of himself. Despite Izanagi's calm presence and reassurance, he needed to see them for himself.

Then there was the whole issue with his own twin brother. That...was more than losing a friend. It was like losing a part of yourself he could never truly get back. As Yu continued to talk, he unconsciously gripped and toyed with his earring. Yet it had been his resolution then, when he had taken that pin to his ear at twelve years old...that he'd live for the both of them. And he'd continue to live and do so until his very last breath. He'd protect his friends as much as he could...and let them protect themselves as well. Like an emperor watching over his subjects.
"I knew you could all do it," was his reply as he shifted his seating position again, offering a small smile. "I couldn't help to stop him myself, but I trusted all of you to." He looked at the game Yu was playing again, marveling that it was part of a game series he liked playing as a child. Had they made many new ones in the future? Newer versions...it brought something up in his mind again. "...You have quite a powerful Persona with Izanagi-no-Okami."

Yu glanced down to the bead ring on his middle finger. Sure, it was a little girly, but before coming here, he never took it off once Nanako had given it to him. Now that it was all he had of her other than a photograph, he definitely wouldn't be. Even if he had needed to die once to get it back... he didn't regret any of his choices in the labyrinth.
With a sigh, he looked toward the other after pausing the game. It could wait until he could pay attention again. Though if Naoya asked, he would indeed tell him that there were many newer installments that were made since then. This particular one was the first he'd seen played since his cousin was so insistent on playing it even when he was supposed to be watching the then three-year-old. Funny how he could sometimes recall little bits of nostalgia like that at times.
"He is, isn't he," this time he could not help the faint smirk crossing his lips, recalling what it was like to first call forth the power that had slept within him for so long. Man, that had been a confidence (hey, he wasn't insane like the other one) boost no matter how you looked at it. Yu spared a nod in thanks. "Izanagi-no-Okami has saved our lives more times than I can say."

Say what you want about Philemon, but he had pretty amazing pep talks. That had stuck with Naoya since then, and was partly the reason why even the nightmares of his friends had merely made him angry instead of afraid. He touched his earring again, toying with it. One day, they'd all get together again.
He glanced at the TV screen again, if only for a short while. They could talk about games later. Right now, after comparing his story with that of Tatsuya's and remembering what Yu had told him, it seemed that there were a few things that kept coming up; Philemon's involvement, even if indirectly, and the Velvet Room. Maybe...if they...
"Do you know of others besides, you, myself and Tatsuya who have lead teams of Persona users?"
no subject
Yu nodded. He couldn't say anything about Philemon or his pep talks, but with how much Naoyo has mentioned this far he's inclined to agree for the time being. He had no one to turn to aside from Igor and Margaret, and both had given him invaluable advice. Because of them, he wasn't fearful either- Angry, upset, and betrayed, however, was another story.
Yu noticed the glances and the toying with the earring, but didn't comment on it. After all, the latter was probably for a similar reason that he would never remove the ring on his finger.
The question snapped him from the train of thought, however.
"...Yes. I know of a few, actually." Mentally going over the list, he added, "Minato Arisato, Minami Arisato, Minako Arisato if my guess is right, the other Minato Arisato..." his tone is a bit more... guarded on that note. "Maybe one or two more, but I'm not sure."
no subject
"...I was thinking that we should all talk together," he explained. "I've seen what Strega can do, but regardless, I think we should all be there." He'd seen Minato's face during that Shinjiro incident, after all. He'd been protecting his own. Someone who cared that much, at least, deserved some amount of respect and couldn't be all that bad. Besides, the idea of so many of them leading did get him excited, truthfully. They all had different adventures and even ways to call upon their Persona. Perhaps even different ways to lead their own teams. Comparing notes and perhaps enlightening each other could be vital in a place like the tower.
"Considering what has been happening lately, it would be wise to combine all our efforts together."
no subject
"That, and with recent events it would be a good idea to pick each other up." Because they needed to be at full strength and of strong mind if they expected their respective teams to be the same. The morale of the leader almost always defined what would be for the rest of the team. Since he knew most of them, however, he was attempting to be more realistic while remaining hopeful.
"If we want to discover the truth and find a way back to our world and times, we need to work together. ...I only worry what could happen with so many of us in one space."
no subject
Guess which one be believed in.
"I am usually a lone wolf by nature," he went on, "but having worked with my friends in school during the SEBEC crisis. I know that personalities will no doubt clash despite our best efforts, but if we put all our heads together, we can move the universe, if we so desire."
no subject
"I hope it's the latter," he admitted. It was becoming even more a rare moment for him to not voice his opinions on certain subjects, especially after the events back home had broken his shell like he shatters his Arcana every time he summons his Persona. Yet he still took the time to listen, finding himself in agreement before he even spoke again.
"My friends changed the world once before. I doubt none of them would mind changing the universe."
no subject
He held out his hand.
"In America they shook hands more often than bowing at each other. Somehow I find it fitting on this occasion..."
no subject
"It wouldn't hurt to have a few backup plans as well," he admitted. After all, there was only so much that they could all do on their own. Even in a combined force, there was little that they could do to keep themselves from being lost in the madness of the tower if something like this should occur again.
Yu blinked, then smirked faintly at the offered hand before taking it--albeit hesitantly at first. 'No,' he thought, 'It was only a nightmare...'
...At least his grip was firm enough.
"I know what you mean. It was more common in the countryside, too."
