Setting: Room 2-2 and all around the tower - jump in wherever
Format: Starting with prose but action prefered
Summary: Mondo doesn't take the letter well. Or being trapped somewhere with no escape. ...Again.
Warnings: You are entering a world of swearing unlike any you have ever known.

After waking in bed and reading the 'welcome letter', Mondo crumples it up and tosses it to another end of Room 2-2. He's determined not to believe what it says, he won't accept it - but it is now stuck in his head. He doesn't care if it goes in someone else's things or even hits someone, he isn't paying attention to what or who else is around him, nothing but the trunk at the end of the bed he woke up in. There has to be something in there saying it was all a joke right? But it's only his personal things, clothes, a flag...he does, however, take the wooden practice sword.

He runs around a few floors, looking for any way out, but of course finds nothing. All the while frustration sinks in, and he continues to think about the letter - 'your world has been destroyed', but that should be impossible, if it was true, then the whole gang was gone - even the others from Hope's Peak. It doesn't matter to him that he should have already died there, if he's alive now then it doesn't make any sense, and he's just not smart enough to even think about trying to figure it out. It's probably something new by Monobear anyway.  It's all about his growing anger and nervousness.

Finally he snaps and takes a punch at a window, but it has no effect. So he punches again, and again, repeating until his knuckles hurt and he remembers the sword he's carrying, swinging that at full force to the window and shouting.

"Ah, shit!! This some kind of sick fucking joke?!  You hear me, you fucker?!  Aa?! This is always when you pop up and say 'you're breaking school rules' or 'a body's been found', right?!  Don't mess with me, bear!  I'm sick of it, I'm not gonna take your shit anymore!  I'm not doing or watching another punishment, I'm gonna kill you this time, you just fucking watch!!"

He certainly isn't going to let the fact one window can't be broken stop him, he'll be found on multiple floors trying to break through windows with his wooden sword, shouting various strings of profanities and death threats to Monobear.

Mondo turns after taking another whack at the window with the sword, holding it up as he does in case the voice behind him isn't a friendly one. He certainly doesn't know anyone from the academy with that voice.

He looks Kanji up and down as he speaks - based on his appearance and way of speaking, he's definitely a tough guy. Of course, anyone like Mondo is going to think they're at least slightly tougher, but anyone who can appreciate the manly aesthetic is pretty okay by him until proven otherwise. The chair's a nice touch.

"Windows are made of glass, right?! Glass is supposed to break!"

Keep thinking you're tougher than him if it makes you sleep better at night. Kanji put the chair down to lean on it. So far this guy hadn't done anything that would get his ire. So far.

"This place ain't normal," he explained, punching a window as demonstration. The only thing that happened was a loud crack...and nothing else. It was like he'd done nothing. "'Sides, there ain't anything outside." They were trapped here, for better or worse.

"If nobody's been out, nobody knows that!" At least in seeing Kanji has similar luck, not to mention having someone who is currently calm around, he stops trying for the time being. He does, however, take a kick at the floor in frustration, mumbling, "Aw, shit".

"There's a level where you can view outside, and a few open ones too." He crosses his arms, frustrated at the entire situation in general. "You won't like what you see. So how long you been here?"

From his guess, probably pretty new.

Mondo leans against the wall, folding his arms as well. He'll give up on that argument...for now.

"Guess maybe a couple hours, didn't look at any clocks or nothin'."

He was too embarrassed about the white outfit and in too much of a rage to care.

So he'd guessed right. He looked at him again.

"You should find clothing in your trunk. If you're gonna eat, grab the oatmeal first. Not that there ain't much to eat this month. Nothing but nutritional bars and water." More like nutritional barf, as far as he was concerned haha Kanji good one.

"Otherwise stay in your dorm at night. Monsters come out after dark."

He'd already found two sets of clothes in the trunk, though he doesn't mind having so few changes, manly men can handle it. But, more importantly, that choice of food... "...Nutritional bars? They think people can go on just that?" A balanced diet is important!

"Aah, but the monsters, the hell is that supposed to be? I mean, we didn't go out after ten at the academy either so that's not a problem, but, what the fuck?"

It's okay, Kanji can sew more.

"They think whatever the hell they want. Got a few guys cooking up some food but it ain't every night." And only if they feel like it. Every many for himself, after all. At least there's a supply of food. "You can try your luck at the restaurant, but they ask for payment and if you mess it up they take a part of your body."

Wasn't this a nice and cheerful place?!

"As for the monsters...bunch of shit. Shadows, strange creatures...it really ain't safe unless you know how to defend yourself."

Oh, right, please embroider some new gang coats

"Fucking ridiculous. Still don't think I'll hit up the restaurant when you put it like that, though..."

He grins at the mention of defending himself - sure he can, he never loses a fight, right? Monsters shouldn't be different...!

"Heh, damn right I can handle myself, I take everybody down!"

ahahahaha NO. You are getting a shirt with bedazzler stuff on it.

While before a cocky attitude would have made him grin, the fact he sounds a little too sure of himself was likely that he might end up dead. Besides, for all the fighting he might have done, Kanji wasn't the type to actually LIKE violence. He only did it to protect others now.

"This ain't a question of people, monsters are different entirely! They won't back down. If you're not careful, they'll kill you."

He's certainly one to enjoy fighting, but he is also into doing it to protect others - who says you can't have both.

"I don't expect anybody to back down. But, uh, I guess I already got killed...or somethin'...don't really get how I got here after that..."

How do you feel about night falling soon and monsters appearing.

Kanji wasn't actually understanding it the way he was supposed to and gives him an incredulous look.

"The hell, you already died here once?" That was fast.

Sure, sounds good to me!

That surprises him - there's no way he'd be that lame!

"What?! No fucking way! At home - at some crazyass school!"

That...sounded bad.

"You were killed at school?!"

He looked and realized that it was getting dark outside. Questions could come later.

"We need to clear up the higher levels. In some of 'em, our powers don't work. Safer to just stay in the dorms or close by."

It was bad.

"Right. Monsters. When's that start? There a time or just 'when it's dark'?"

He frowns, turning his head to look out the window as well.

Well...that was something alright.

"Usually when it starts getting dark..." Which meant...really bad timing on their part. When they've managed to make it up to floor thirty-seven, Kanji notices some of the monsters stepping up in the stairs after him. Thankfully his powers had returned. As they got to level thirty-eight there were more shadows monsters swarming the premises.

"Dammit!" Well, he'd been on patrol for this so...he tosses the guy his chair. "Use this!" Cause hell if that bokken-like weapon of his would do much once the creatures got enraged. He took a out a pair of sunglasses for his part...

He takes a single look at the chair after taking it and tosses the practice sword away - it certainly won't do much, metal's automatically bettere than wood, after all.

"Hey thanks-" Oh, he doesn't know Kanji's name, but that's fine, it can wait for now.

"So like right fucking now, then."

Yeah Kanji's not very good at the whole introducing yourself part. Especially when there's monsters to be beaten up. Probably low level, but he wasn't taking his chances. Standing on front of a small group, he grinned, pushing his glasses upward. There was...a thrill to this part, admittedly. A bluish card suddenly appears before him, free floating in the air and with the sign of the emperor engraved on one side.

"Here goes... PERSONA!"

Without the chair, he does the only thing he can, and punches the card with his fist. It busts in a shattering bluish light, passing right through him and forming Rokuten Maoh. He didn't even waste time, running towards his targets, the Persona mimicking his movements, and going ahead of him. Rokuten Maoh's fists pounds on the floor and there was nothing more to that group than a fine, blackish mesh glop and slightly cracked floor. He looks over to see how the other guy was doing.

Mondo takes the brute strength approach to things and treats it as any other fight. Otherwise the sheer fact that there are strange monsters would be a bit distracting.

He picks one out of the group that looks somewhat stronger than the others, grips the chair by the legs and shouts as he brings it down on the monster, swinging at each one repeatedly until there's no possibility it's anything but dead. At one point, one reaches out and grabs his ankle, which he takes a kick at and proceeds to step on.

His fighting style is differently erratic and a little too violent, but Kanji doesn't really have time to think about it. To the right, he spots a new wave of monsters appearing, this time with sharp claws and attempting to surround them from all sides. Okay just hitting them won't do in this case and they'll need to keep climbing.

"Crush 'em, Rokuten Maoh!" The persona raised it's hand, summoning forth from who-knew-where-really a Maziodyne attack, sending electrical current through the snarling creatures, making them disappear in a puffs of smoke turning them into butter and electricity.

"Keep climbing the stairs!"

"How many of them are there?!"

As much as he hates the idea of running from a fight, it definitely sounds like the smart thing to do this time when they just keep coming. So, at Kanji's insistence he dashes up the stairs, skipping one or two with each step.

[get_bent]

"Hell if I know but they won't hesitate to kill us!" Something Kanji has learned from Yu-senpai and the group is there's a time for action, and there's a time for not acting stupid. Staying around would be stupid. A creature grabs one of the Persona's hand and he shakes it off, slicing it with his sword.

Another electrical attack later, and they've managed to finish their climb to the dorm levels. He looks down at them, the Persona still towering above him in a battle ready position.

"You still wanna get tough? Out of my sight, punks!"

The creatures stare from below, before scattering again, hoping to find another victim that's easier to kill. There's too many people around here, and they seem to know they'd be outnumbered. When silence returns and the danger seems to pass, his persona disappears in a burst of light and an annoyed Kanji takes off his glasses, placing them in his pockets.

"Damn, they're persistent."

Once it's clear the fight's over and Rokuten Maoh disappears, Mondo offers the chair back to Kanji.

"So what the hell was that?"

Meaning the persona. Monsters had been explained now, but he's certainly never seen something like that either. Is it a bit emasculating? Yes, yes it is.

He'll probably need to clean it, with all the monster flesh...

"The monsters? Ain't sure." Then realizing he might mean his Persona, he continues. Uh shit, how do you explain that? "That was Rokuten Maoh. I'm him and he's uh...me?" He scratches his head. "I-it's a long story but I got mine when I faced against my Shadow. Shadows are uh....sorta like suppressed human thoughts given power and a form. When you're able to tame it and accept that it's part of you, it becomes a Persona." That would...do for now. Right? Right. See guys? He could totally explain it. Kinda.

He lets the chair lean on the wall, and crosses his arms, giving Mondo a small, tiny bow as a proper greeting, typical for Japanese students.

"Name's Kanji Tatsumi."

It doesn't exactly make sense to him, but he figures he won't get it no matter how much explaining is done, so he'll just have to accept that explanation...

"Mondo Oowada...nice to meet you."

He isn't the bowing sort, so he sticks out his hand for a handshake instead. Not just as a greeting, but in recognition of having fought side-by-side.
