No rest for the weary
Characters: Xion and YOU
Setting: Room 1-01, Dormitories, Floor 1, and later anywhere about the Tower except the non-magic floors.
Format: Action to start but I'll follow you
Summary: Xion starts absorbing memories again. Later, she goes looking for certain people.
Warnings: Nothing much at this point? Will edit if this changes.
[ Part 1 ]
[Xion jerks awake with a jolt. She'd been dreaming. Again. Only this wasn't like the dreams she'd been plagued with during the Labyrinth - the ones that had only just stopped a few days ago. But it was still familiar.
No, this was like how she'd been dreaming, back in their - her? - worlds. While she was absorbing Sora's memories. Except... she could have sworn there were memories there that didn't have anything to do with Sora at all. There were even some she were pretty sure were her own, but she'd never dreamed about her own memories like that...
She shakes her head, gets up, gets dressed and heads downstairs. She'll be listless as she picks at her bland meal of nutrition bars, puzzling over what's happened. She's perfectly botherable though, and could probably use the distraction, as much as she may deny that.]
[ Part 2 ]
[After she escapes a certain encounter, Xion will be looking for people. Riku and Axel are high on her list, as are certain others among her closer friends in the tower. Except she has no idea where they are, so she's using the darkness corridors to run around, looking for them. Her hood is up - if there's a time she doesn't want to be recognized, it's now, with a death threat hanging over her head. She may also jump - if not run outright - at the sight of spiky hair, even if it's not dark like Vanitas' is.
Overall, there is a scared girl in a black hooded coat running about your Tower, Animus, not that this is too different from normal. What do?]

Oi, why don't you watch where I-- Xion? [He dog-ears the page he was on and closes the book, frowning.] You look like you're bein' chased by rabid Bad Dogs or something. [He cranes his neck to look past her, then quirks an eyebrow.] You're not, are you?
no subject
V-Vanitas.
[Given how shaky her voice is, plus the knowledge that Vanitas had been gone for a while... she doesn't feel like she needs to say anything else, nor is she sure how coherent she would be if she tried at this point.]
no subject
You're sure? [It's not really a question--of course she's sure. No way she would mistake someone who tried to kill her.] I thought he was gone, though... [Though... more than one person mentioned that he had been here previously. He has no memory of it, though, which--especially when coupled with the idea that he forgot Xion somewhere along the way--is disconcerting enough, but...] Does he remember? [They wouldn't be lucky enough that he didn't, would they?]
no subject
Everything.
[Of course they couldn't be lucky in that Vanitas would forget, and leave them alone. Or maybe he wouldn't have, given that he'd attacked her the first time he even met her. But regardless, it's moot point - he's here, he remembers.
And if either of them needed any more proof...]
H-he said "third try's the charm."
[And there was only one thing he could be referring to that he'd already tried twice. Which is a big part of why she's so worked up right now.]

[So the other option is to confront Vanitas about it, but he doesn't really like that route either. He doesn't have to know the guy well to know he's less than receptive to peace offerings, and he doesn't have to have personally fought him to know how dangerous a combatant he apparently is.
[Okay, one thing at a time. Reaching down to put one hand on Xion's shoulder, Axel leans forward a bit to look her in the eye.]
Well he's not very charming, so I don't think we need to worry about that.
[Use levity. Don't let her see how worried about this you are. You'll figure something out, you just need time, and she needs confidence in you.]
no subject
I guess not.
[Still, that left a bigger question. She's... slowly calming down. Finding one of the people she was looking for helped a lot, and the fact that Axel seemed to be taking it in stride was too. Frankly, times like this it didn't even feel like he had forgotten her, specific memories aside - he still acted the same way, he still cared...
She still felt like she could trust him, and that's why she'd come to find him now.]
What are we going to do?
no subject
[Well, no sense getting her all worked up again; they could talk about some sort of plan, sure, but not here, exposed, in the hallway like this. What were they going to do...? He blew out a sigh and put his hands on his hips then.]
We're going to go to the cafeteria, get some ice cream, and then put our heads together and figure something out. [A grin.] I dunno about you but I think better with ice cream, you know? [Something safe, something familiar, something that reminded her--the both of them--of better times, perhaps. It was the best he could offer right now; he needed to know more about Vanitas before they could really put a strategy together, but he knew Xion wasn't the person to ask about that. He would have to get in touch with Ven, but that could wait. For now it was no good for Xion to panic. Panic led to carelessness, and that was something she couldn't afford.
[He nodded down the hallway.] Chop chop; I dunno about you, but I'm not putting a game plan together without sweets.

Her choice... she had so many mixed feelings about it, especially times like right now, where she was enjoying being with her friends - particularly Roxas and Axel. She knew some of the reasons why, and after meeting Sora, she knew she couldn't just leave him aleep, back in their - her? - own worlds. But at the same time... so much of the circumstances of her decision hadn't happened to her yet, that the decision - and its current consequences - were half-forced on her.
But she didn't want to be thinking about that now.
Obediently Xion turns, heading towards the stairways. She glances over her shoulder, though, pulling a face.]
I'm not sure they have ice cream down there... just those awful... things.
[She wasn't even sure what to call them. She'd heard them called "nutritional bars" or something like that once. But the point was they were awful. Another reason to loathe the man who'd answered questions on the feed with a passion]
