[Boy soccer practice sure was fun! Kidou was pretty beat from training with Genda and he was going back to his room to put his ball away and change out of his sweaty clothes when he notices Hojo in the room. He hesitantly walks in and moves to his trunk.]

Pardon my intrusion.

[Kidou hasn't talked to Hojo much since he arrived there. He doesn't know anything about the man, even though they share a room. How odd.

He sets the ball in his trunk and stands up, setting an outfit on his bed. Turning his head a bit, he talks over his shoulder to the other.]

....if you don't mind me asking, what do you think about this place?

What kind of things did you do when you were back home?

If you mean my profession, I was a research scientist. A biologist, to be precise.

What kind of studies did you do?

[He tilts his head curiously]

In particular, I studied my planet's various lifeforms, on a chemical and molecular level, but on a broader scale, you could say I studied all life, with a view to improving conditions.

Precisely! Weaknesses, illnesses, the countless possible genetic abnormalities. There's no need for people to suffer from such conditions.

[That gets Kidou to smile] Is that so?
