What goes BUMP in the night

Characters: Prussia and Hungary/ open
Setting: In the darkened corridors of the dorms
Format: Prose?
Summary: The power's gone out, so Prussia is scouting to try to find out why this is.
Warnings: TBA

After the power had gone out, and had been out for longer than a few hours Prussia had given up on waiting around in his room and speculating on what had gone wrong in the tower. But once he was out in the hallways, armed with his sword, was when the sense of foreboding started in. It wasn't the dark that had him worried, he'd grown through the centuries where campfires were the only source of light and being in the dark was more than just a literal sense of the word. It was the movement he'd noticed in the shadows, vague humanoid shapes that'd vanish when he'd turn to peer into the murky darkness. Yet he swore he knew the silhouette of the figures that disappeared.

What had disturbed him more had been the voices that he'd sworn he'd heard calling his name and whispering close to him. Brandishing his sword he looked around into the darkness, this was much too strange for him.

Hungary's initial reaction was the desire to punch Prussia in the face as he lifted her up. It was still weird to be handled as not...a sack of lard like he liked to call her. But remembering the severity of the moment, Hungary nodded.

Trembling just a bit from the blood loss, when they step back quickly and he shouted, she used her good leg and kicked the door shut violently only to hold her breath in hopes that her theory was right.

The sound was unsettling to say the least but Hungary was thankful that her theory had worked. Really thankful.

Her leg continued to tremble and she nodded and leaned over to her bedside drawer to fish out a couple of plain white candlesticks. "Here. I didn't realize you had a lighter." She said while handing them over to him.

"So far, I can heart fully say I hate this place."

Glancing down at him in the flickering glow light, there was a haunting sense of just what kind of danger they were in. The sight of the soft orange dancing across his features was something that- she never really noticed that looked- well- handsome. Maybe that was the blood loss talking. "Guess that cancels the sex idea." She teased.

Tucking some hair behind her ear, she sighed and glanced down while moving herself to help gather she sheet off of the bed. In the pale glow, she looked normal but only a few shades paler with lips nearly fading to a purple blue. It had taken a wicked bite from her leg, but Hungary was determined not to let something like that beat her, no matter what.

"I believe the saying 'caught between a rock and a hard place' applies to our situation here. I don't like the idea of being trapped." She sighed while helping him rip apart the sheet in long rectangles to use as bandages.

Shaking her head, she closes her eyes only to open them belatedly to the same darkness. Part of her had really hoped the lights would turn on and this would all be a bad dream but sadly, the darkness was a sobering realization.

"I don't have anything in here but bottled water." She said as she fell back on the bed with a groan. "Well- I feel dizzy...probably like I'm going to throw up but whatever." She said quietly as she tried to control her breathing to the best of her ability.

She swore she heard him speaking...but it sounded so far off and so distant that she had to wonder if she was actually in fact, dreaming. So far it was an odd dream. She wanted to speak, to tell him to forget the bucket and slap him for the comment about throwing up on him; she wouldn't do such a thing. Either or, her voice didn't seem to come out nor did her mouth even open. All she knew was that she was tired and felt heavy.

Just swallowing heavily, she gave the weakest of nods to him and just rested against her bed.

Another small groan escaped as she rose her hand to try and wave him off. "I'm fine..stop yelling." She murmured before her arm fell back on the bed with a thump. Barely able to move her hand, she reached out and gripped his hand.

"Don't..go out there. Promise me." She said quietly with tired eyes barely opening to stare tiredly up at him. "I can't be there to protect you."
