Summary: After seeing Tara and how hurt she was, and seeing as there is no working infirmary Shion tries to do something to help
Warnings: Just general horror stuff

Shion was trying to keep busy, he was training with Reno and Xion, helping gathering food and generally trying to keep going. He wore the pin Reno had given him on his shirt collar; he really was just beginning to grasp all that it stood for and probably wouldn't for a long time. But he understood family and though Reno and Xion would never replace his mum, Nezumi, Safu, those he had lost... They could be another family, one here. People to care for, who cared for him in return.

So he was recovering, slowly, a step at a time and today would be another step. After helping Tara he had realised that without workers those who were injured would not get any care. The infirmary was as dark as everywhere else and that meant there would probably be monsters there at times...

Shion didn't know much about medicine, but he knew enough to clean and bandage wounds, even to deal with broken bones though he had never done that for real. Reno's spare EMR in hand Shion entered the infirmary. He should probably start with one room, if he could get one of the examination rooms organised it would be a start. He began moving things about, dust had began to gather and so all the sides needed washing, so he started with that.

Luckily for Shion, Ven wasn't accustomed to this level of Darkness, and didn't take notice of Shion paling or avoiding eye contact. possibly because he was a bit busy looking at the EMR curiously, because what the hell was that.

"Oh-- no, I'm fine. I came here to check and see if anyone else did," He commented a bit sheepishly. "My name's Ventus-- and this is Piccolo." He introduced, gesturing to the weasel with a small shrug.

"What are you doing here?"

Shion didn't actually know what it was either, just that Reno had given it to him as a light source; which he was grateful for.

At the name though he paled even more. "Oh... erm..." He tried not to remember the labyrinth, he knew this was a different person. A different person who looked the same and had the same name. "He's really cute..." He reached out to pet the weasel, trying to act normal.

"I'm Shion..."

Ven held his free hand up to Piccolo, allowing the weasel to climb onto his hand and held him out to Shion. The weasel was thankfully receptive to the attention, despite Ven's own growing frown.

"He's my friend's pet, actually. Not sure where he went..."

A moment or so of silence however, and Ven couldn't help but start to pry. "Are you sure you're OK? You seem kind of nervous."

"Oh..." One of those that had been taken perhaps? He petted the weasel some more though he felt guilty when Ventus frowned. "I'm sorry... I guess I still haven't gotten used to the fact there are many people who look the same here..."

"Aaah, you've met one of them, haven't you?" Suuuuuddenly he understood everything completely.

"There's at least three other people around here that supposedly look like me. Roxas, Xion, and another guy with my name, Ventus-- I'm guessing you met him." And a small frown. "I don't know much about him, to be honest, and he acts nothing like me. But you can just call me Ven like everyone else does," He assured him, a small smile returning to his face."

Shion nodded, trying not to show how scared he was but he could feel himself beginning to panic. His mind wanting to freeze, he took a few deep breaths, forcing himself into calmness. Though he frowned, "Xion doesn't look like you..." Or was there two of them as well?

"Ven... sorry it was Ventus I knew," He was glad that Ven acted nothing like Ventus, trying not to think about Ventus killing him...

At the Xion thing, he shrugged, looking probably as clueless as Shion felt. "I don't think she does either, but someone from my world mistook her for me when she met them. I'm more just mentioning it as a general disclaimer at this point."

"Heh, I figured it was," He added. The ever-present grin did return to his face once more, but then it faded once more as he just looked a bit confused. "Did you have a bad experience with him or something...?" Really, that guy didn't seem like he could scare people that easily...

"Sort of... we were friends..." Shion distracted himself by stroking Piccolo again, "Or at least I thought we were..." He shrugged, thinking about it was bad because it led to thinking about dying, and what had happened afterwards. He had to think of other things because he had promised Reno he wouldn't shut down again.

"Are you hurt? Do you need help?" Because people went to infirmaries for a reason.

He was full-on frowning now; hearing that someone was mistreating their friends was already bad enough, but that it was another version of him? Now that just wasn't flying for him.

Piccolo was more than welcome to have Shion pet him, and Ven kept his hand out so he was within reach.

"Well, if he ever gives you any grief again, just let me know; I'll set him straight," He said firmly. It was pretty obvious that Shion didn't want to talk about it, so he wasn't going to pry right now.

"Heh... nah, I'm OK, really...!" He added after, lightening up a little. "I've got magic, so I can take care of myself if anything happens."

"You have magic?" Shion still didn't know how magic could exist but almost everything he had ever taken to be fact had been disproved or changed until he didn't really know what was true anymore.

He was a little surprised at the offer to deal with Ventus, but Shion really was happy just avoiding the other boy, this Ven seemed friendly... though so had Ventus when they had first met.

But he had to trust people, wanted to trust people and so smiled again.

"Yep!" Ven nodded eagerly, returning Piccolo to his shoulder so that his hand was free again.

"Look--" He let the fire in his hand go out, though the light was replaced for a split second by the flash of light from his keyblade. He gave it a small wave in front of him, and a combination of flowers, leaves, and a bell appeared above Shion's head in a green light. The bell shook and chimed, releasing what seemed like yellow sparkles, and the leaves twirled around on vines. It disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared, and Shion might notice that his energy had returned, and any fatigue he had was gone.

"That's a cure spell. It heals people," He explained, opening his hand and the keyblade disappearing in another flash of light.

Shion blinked at the keyblade and looked startled at the flowers and leaves and bell ringing. He felt more awake though, like he had just woken up from a deep sleep.

"That's amazing!" He grinned, "That must be so useful!" To be able to help so many people like that!

"It's come in a lot of use when I traveling the World," He said happily, returning the grin with one of his own and folding his arms behind his head happily.

"It can't totally heal everything and all injuries, but it can still help major problems before any permanent damage is done."

Shion smiled, "I bet it was really useful! Magic didn't exist in my world... It must be great to be able to help so many people."

"Wait, really? No magic at all?"

Hang on he... that is something that is very hard to wrap his head around. Uh????

It was enough to bring a bit of a frown to his face, but he tried to bypass that to give Shion a softer smile. "Yeah, it's pretty cool. So if you need any help, let me know, OK?"

"No none at all!" It was amazing that there were places with magic, and people who couldn't imagine a world without it. He nodded, "I will, I hope no one will get hurt that badly, but with all the monsters and the darkness..."

Man that was. Kind of depressing. OK let's not think about that now!

"Like I said, leave 'em to me! I kind of made it my job going around defeating monsters back home."

...On accident. Mostly he just had a bad habit of helping people.

Shion smiled, "Thank you very much, there were no monsters where I lived either so..."
