[should have known I'd feel colder when I walk alone]
Characters: Rin Okumura and anyone else~
Setting: Spending some time at the Cathedral before heading off to explore Floor 14 (backdated to June 11!)
Format: Whichever is most comfortable~. I'll go with the flow~
Summary: The Tower’s conditions might be getting to him, but he wasn’t going to let it beat him.
Warnings: none at the moment
Cathedral
Time and again Rin finds himself in the cathedral. It wasn’t because he felt any spiritual need to surround himself with the sound of invisible worshippers. It was natural to go someplace comfortable, right? And since he had yet to find a five-story high stool to sit upon, a quiet cathedral was second best. There was a familiar atmosphere about it that reminded him of the home he had.
He took a seat in a pew far from the ominous whispers and breathed in the stale, warm air. He was getting annoyed with the constant fighting, the hunger, the hopelessness that just seem a part of the Tower's everyday experience. At least the Cathedral was some form of sanctuary, as eerie as it was.
Floor 14
It was almost like a poorly written horror movie plot: haunted media room in a powerless tower. Rin had found the media room, but since there wasn’t any power anyway there was no way to enjoy it. Pity. It would have livened up the place a bit. At least the furniture was comfortable for short naps. Yet, as he walked further into the room, he could have sworn he saw something move in the shadows… Just in case, he kept his sword in hand. He didn’t want to be taken by surprise.

You saw it too?

Or he hoped so, at least.]
I saw something. [Was there a hint of fear in his voice? Nah. Not him.] This place doesn't have ghosts too, right?

I don't know. Don't think so, but...It wouldn't surprise me if there were.
[He's turned to stare at those shadows again, watching with narrowed eyes. If something comes out of there, he'll deal with it. ...Hopefully before it deals with them!]
[1/2] cathedral!
Hyunlee's grown considerably thinner and paler the past few weeks. Their current situation at this tower reminds him of the old days of struggle. When he lost his home, and is left fighting to live on, doing his best to find food and a way to survive for another day... It's just like that. The sad memory causes him to smile less recently as well.
The odd voices or the shadows has even begun to worry Hyunlee less as time goes by, replaced by the more important matters. Power still isn't back, the people are still missing, no news has been circulating either... Right now, all they can really do is do their best to continue surviving until they find a solution to all this. The other bad thing is that Hyunlee has noticed that his abilities are slowly drained as the days pass. If this keeps up...]
[...] Soma...
[It's no good to think about that further. So instead, attention is back to the present. Quietly, Hyunlee steps closer, stopping by the other boy's side. He watches out towards the figure seated further in, then nudges his friend to get his attention.]
There's someone there.
[2/2]
Soma is, however, concerned for Hyunlee's condition. It's obviously affecting his leader even more. He'd reach up to at least pat his shoulder reassuringly when the other called out his name.
But there is a hesitance when he mentions there is somebody else present in the Cathedral. And it's not one of those "I think I saw something ;n;!!!" nonsense Hyunlee kept spewing about during the first few weeks they were here.
Soma can actually see the person this time. Unsure if he's a danger or not, Soma steps in front of Hyunlee and readies his weapon.]
....Who's there?
no subject
...You first. Who're you and what do you want?
[They looked as tired and hungry as he felt - or maybe it was a trick of the eye. Rin knew he had nothing to give, but he couldn't shake the feeling that they might have tried anything at this point. After all, there were two.
After a moment of staring them down, he relaxed his posture. The guy with the weapon looked like the protector of the kid behind him. There was a chance that they were as startled as he was to see them.]
[1/2]
Wait!
[All though only briefly noticeable, Hyunlee momentarily saw the unknown boy's shoulders drop sightly. If he could hesitate like that, then it means that he doesn't mean any harm. This person must be in the same loss as them.]
If those originally from this tower isn't around, then this person must be like us as well. Isn't that so?
[2/2]
We're just here for our own personal business. It's the only floor we know that still has power, after all.
[They'll be out as soon as they can recharge a couple of personal items. They didn't really have the same type of sentimental feeling for this place. If anything, the Cathedral was more of a reminder of losing a comrade on a mission to Soma.]
