That's still a really long time... Sorry... I just wish we could go home...

You don't have to apologize for something you can't help. [A pause]

I would like to go home, too, but then I would miss the friends I've made here. [He looks forward and brings his knees to his chest.]

...it would be hard if I had to choose between staying and going.

[notagiraffe]

Really... [Taiki blinked in surprise, even though if they all got to go home he would miss his friends a lot, he wouldn't find it a hard choice...] Even though it is so scary here?

[pengeen]

Yeah. [He nods.] I would have to choose between two groups of friends, in the end. Whichever choice I made would mean that one group gets left behind, and I don't want to do that to anyone.

[notagiraffe]

Oh... [Taiki blinked at that, wondering. Would he feel the same if it were two groups of friends he had to chose between... Probably. Because he really liked his friends here, even though here was awful.] I guess... sorry you're right... but for me I have friends here but...

[He looked down] My king is back in Tai and he comes before everyone...

[pengeen]

Your king? [He turns his head to look over at Taiki again]

[notagiraffe]

[Taiki nodded] His name is Lord Gyousou, I miss him a lot...

[pengeen]

So there are kings from where you're from, huh? [He smiles a bit]

What kind of man is he?

[notagiraffe]

[Taiki nodded, smiling a little] There's twelve... well kings or queens... one for each kingdom.

[His smile grew but he looked sad as well] He is a very strong man, and very kind. Tai was in complete ruins when he was chosen but he began to build it up again, he protects all his people... He is a soldier but he would prefer peace... He only fights those he has to. He is very honourable and the bravest person I ever met. I really miss him...

[pengeen]

He sounds like a great man.

Are you and him close?

[notagiraffe]

He is. [Taiki nodded] I'm his kirin

[pengeen]

Kirin? [He tilts his head]

Do you mean giraffe or are you referring to the mythical beast? [Neither make much sense, to be honest. So Kidou doesn't really know what to think about this...]

[notagiraffe]

[There was a pause and then Taiki let out a tiny laugh. He hadn't thought he would ever be able to not be sad again after all of this but he smiled] I thought that too... that I was supposed to turn into a giraffe... But I am the other kirin...

[pengeen]

You mean to say that you can turn into a creature from a myth? [Woah that's really cool! He has a look of astonishment at Taiki]

[notagiraffe]

Yes... [Technically kirin beast form was his natural form, but he had been lost on earth so long that he felt more comfortable in human form.] Do you want to see...

[pengeen]

[He nods] If you don't mind showing me.

[notagiraffe]

I don't mind... [There is a small gust of wind and a moment later a black kirin is stood where Taiki was sat] It's easy now I know how...

[pengeen]

[He's... speechless, to say in the least. He didn't know what he was expecting, and it was simply awe-inspiring to see Taiki's kirin form.

He can't help but reach out to gently pet his mane.]

...amazing.

[notagiraffe]

[Taiki didn't mind the mane petting, he just lay down again staying in Kirin form for now.] Every king or queen has a kirin where I'm from...

[pengeen]

[Well that means he's going to move next to him to pet him some more.]

They do?

[notagiraffe]

Yes... we are born on a special mountain, we find the ruler that the gods have chosen... that's what my name means... I am the Kirin of Tai... so Taiki [He smiles though it might be difficult to tell in this form, not minding Kidou petting him at all.]

[pengeen]

I see! [Oh, that does make a lot of sense.]

So the "ki" in Taiki is from Kirin, then?

[notagiraffe]

Yes... well... sorry... it means I'm a male Kirin... if I were female I would be Tairin...

[pengeen]

[He tilts his head to the side slightly.] Is it possible for two kirin to have the same name? Or for there to be a Tairin along with you?

[notagiraffe]

No... sorry... there's only ever one kirin for each kingdom... we live a long time... but if we are killed... or we die from shitsedou... then another is born...
