[Aleph woke up not knowing where he was. Very bad sign.

The first thing he noticed was a letter. He opted to ignore that in favor of finding his gear, which he soon found in a trunk. That was more like it. If he could have a fight at any minute, a letter would help him less than his demons. That done, he got to reading.

...Destroyed? He wasn't sure he believed that. YHVH might have mentioned 'by the way, the world's about to be destroyed/will be destroyed if you kill Me'. It seemed like something He ought to know as God.

He looked around the room for any sign of his roommates. There were other beds, after all.]

[Aleph had elected to take the long walk through the stairs rather than use the elevator, so that he had a better idea of the layout of the place. Besides, he was used to walking through difficult mazes anyway. Sometimes with pits.

(Kether Castle being one of the most annoying instances. Lucifer could have at least made his home a little more friendly to visitors.)

He stopped at the art gallery, though he intended it not to be more than a quick stop. Beautiful still lifes and portraits mixed with the most ghastly demons and unnatural things that the tower could drag up to be painted. They almost looked real.

Just like home, huh.]

[Aleph duly ate the oatmeal: it looked like they were very insistent about it being his first meal, and anyway, he'd had worse. It was just tasteless.

That done, he poked around the cafeteria for anything more to fill his stomach. A lot of the food didn't look very appetizing... He was hoping to have at least the best of a bad lot, even if finding the best took him a while.]

[April laughs quietly, nodding a few times.] I agree. Though it makes me wonder why they brought us here, besides using us for experiments and such.

I guess we're going to find out someday.

[technologic]

Yep... Until then, I'm gonna keep trying to hack into the network to see if I can find something out sooner.

You're a hacker?

[technologic]

[April smiles and nods, actually looking rather proud.] Yep, have been for a good few years... Of course, my power gives me a bit of an advantage when it comes to hacking, since it allows me to control electronics.

[alephbet]

That sounds impressive.

[Please talk more about yourself.]

[technologic]

Ehe, thanks, it's pretty helpful, even if tech back home is... lacking. But it's helped a lot in my work and stuff.

[alephbet]

What's your work like?

[technologic]

Rebuilding computers and such, establishing computer and communications connections between settlements, getting generators working... I do a lot of electronic related work in general, really.

[alephbet]

I bet your talents are useful here.

[technologic]

I hope so. And even without my power, I still know my way around electronics like the back of my hand, so hopefully I'll be able to help find out what's going on and how to get out of here.

I'm glad we can rely on your help.

[technologic]

[She laughs sheepishly, fidgeting a bit.] I'll, um, do my best. There's obligations I need to get back to too, so I'll try as hard as I can to find any cracks in the system.

Do you have anyone who'll be missing you?

[April frowns, looking uncertain, and then shakes her head.]

... I made promises, so I need to go back to fulfill them.

[alephbet]

That's just as important.

[technologic]

Ah, y-yeah. Especially when I made the promises to a lot of people. [Like around a couple hundred people.]

I owe it to the people at home to get back there, too.

[technologic]

The sooner we get back home, the better. Hopefully my group won't be too annoyed at me for being gone.

They should understand it wasn't your idea.

[technologic]

They expect me to be able to get myself out of trouble and back to work as soon as possible. Especially since we're working on stuff that I need to be around for.

[alephbet]

This is still something nobody could get out of that quickly.

[technologic]

True. I'm sure they'll listen to me once I explain what happened, though I imagine they would still be kinda peeved for a while.

They'll have to deal.

Ehe, yeah, they will... I just hope they're doing okay right now.
