Characters: Edward Elric and YOU!
Setting: Room 3-10 and other floors of the tower.
Format: Action is preferred, but I'll match.
Summary: Ed wakes up in the tower and is not please. Not pleased at all.
Warnings: Ed's mouth. That's about it for now.
» Room 3-10
[Ed braced himself, gritting his teeth and slowly attempting to pull himself up off the ground. For a second he was doing just fine, but then a biting, sharp pain -- more pain that he had felt in a long, long time -- in his stomach made him freeze. His breath caught in his chest. His heart skipped more than a few beats and his eyes went wide as the world starting spinning. He choked and looked down, immediately wishing that he hadn't. A piece of metal, a long beam from some abandoned construction work, ran right through him. He was skewered.
He let his guard down. He had shown mercy and this was the price he had to pay for it. If he didn't do something soon he was going to die here at the bottom of this mine shaft.
His vision blurred, the world around him grew dark and then...
And then he woke up and the pain was gone.
He struggled, fighting against the sleep paralysis as his mind raced -- where was he? Did someone find him in that mind shaft and bring him here? But how? There was no way. That wasn't a dream right? It couldn't have been a dream. He remembered it too well, that pain was real.
Thirty seconds later Ed shot up with a strangled sort of scream. His chest heaved with each breath as he looked around the room. This was definitely not a mineshaft. This wasn't a place he knew.]
» Various floors
((Ed's pretty much exploring the entirety of the tower so pick a floor, any floor and that's where the thread will be! Just specify the floor in your tag!))
[Now that all of that was over with it was time to get moving. He had more important things to do. Things like finding out if this letter was for real. There had to be answers somewhere in this tower. There had to be someone here who knew something. I mean, Amestris couldn't be gone... right?]

I meant to say YOUR FACE
Are you serious? You've never seen a game controller before? I know these consoles aren't exactly normal, but come on!
Sure you did.
There's nothing like this back home.
SHUSH
no subject
I have a name, you know.
[And he plops down with a huff on the couch.]

[As Ed sits he gets up and starts setting up the console - what to start with? Fighters are usually best - at the very least blondie can button mash]
I'm Yosuke, by the way.
no subject
Why was that even an option?!

Save it for the game, blondie. And if you want me to stop so bad, you could give me a name.

But suddenly there's a controller flying at his face so he catches it. He seems to have been momentarily subdued, settling for a small grumble instead of taking a swing at Yosuke's face.]
Ed. Edward Elric.

Alright Edward, time for a quick crash course. In this game, we've got two characters who are going to beat the crap out of each other. You're on the right side, I'm on the left. Use the stick on the left side to move between characters, and use the blue button on the right to pick one. Easy, right?

Whatever Yosuke's doing goes right over his head. All of flashes of different screens and the occasional burst of loud music just seem to confuse the hell out of him.
Which it does.
Because once Yosuke's finally stopped Ed looks a bit like a deer in headlights. ]
... I... I guess? [He moves the left stick and is absolutely FASCINATED when the highlighted box changes when he does.]
... Huh. How does this work?
no subject
[Ooooooh boy]
You... have seriously never seen a TV before, have you?
no subject
Never.
[He tears his eyes away from the TV to look over at Yosuke and points to the object in question.]
So that's what it's called then? A TV?
no subject
[Oh god he didn't think he'd have to explain TVs and electronics and video games this much. Where's Naoto when he needs her? Why can't he just carry Naoto around in his pocket to give complicated explanations when he needs them? That's what the world needs, a pocket Naoto. For now, he just has to make do the best he can]
The big screen that everything's showing up on is called a TV, yeah. The images are coming from that lit up box below it - that's a video game system. It reads the disc inside of it and shows the game on the screen.
no subject
It reads a disc...? How? Are there words engraved on it or something...? [Because what else could "read" refer to other than words and books? WHAT IS DATA?]
no subject
There's like... code and data that's on the disc, and the console takes that and converts it into what you see on the screen.
no subject
And that? That was a bunch of gibberish. His brows furrow and it's clear he wants to ask a million more questions, but he's getting the feeling that Yosuke might not be the best person to ask if he wants more technical answers.
He wants to know what kind of code he's talking about and what sort of data he's referring to. HE WANTS OT KNOW ALL OF THE THINGS, OK?]
... Right.
[He's so going back to the library after this.]

If we're done with the impromptu engineering classes, why don't you go ahead and pick a character?
