Summary: Aleph relaxes, offends people's eardrums, and learns to cook.

[Floor 25]
[Aleph was quickly finding out that the one thing the tower was short of, apart from 'exits', 'safety', or 'peace of mind', was 'things to do'.

This may have been one reason why he was sitting in the meadow making a daisy chain.

The other reason... well, he'd just never been in a place this green before. Arcadia didn't count.]

[Floor 14]
[Having set up a karaoke machine in the media room, Aleph naturally decided to practice on it a little. It was fun, it was relaxing, it was enjoyable. No problem, right?

There is one thing about Aleph that a fair number of demons could tell you after an unfortunate attempt at winning them over...

Aleph could not sing.

His voice defied the previous definition of 'off-key'. It made 'off-key' sound like the opera instead. This was just plain bad any way you looked at it.

Oblivious, Aleph would continue to sing until someone stopped him or threw something at his head.]

[Floor 3]
[The books Aleph gathered up in one large pile were all about cooking. Basic cooking, nothing too advanced. After carrying them over to a table, he would just flip through them, stopping on recipes at random. Bother him?]

[Floor 1]
[And after that, of course Aleph went to try to cook something. It wasn't going well, though, and the first... whatever it was supposed to be that he pulled out of the oven was a total mess.]

...I guess I should go back over the recipe.

Ah, I'm not busy! I still don't know too much about how to use ovens, but I'll do my best to help.

Sure. I was using this book... [It is indeed a lasagna recipe.]

Ah, I see... I'll admit, I've never made anything like this before, but it doesn't seem too hard.

We start with the pasta, don't we?

Um, um... [She quickly reads the recipe before nodding.] Ah, yep! ... Is there any any left?

[alephbet]

...No.

[technologic]

... Oh, erm... [She flicks through the recipe book some more.] ... Maybe we could try making something else?

It seems easier than trying to make lasagna without pasta.

[technologic]

It wouldn't be lasagna in that case, it would... be meat with sauce on it.

... Is there anything else you wanted to try making?

What would you recommend?

Maybe something simple... Um, is there any eggs?

There must be in a kitchen this large.

Okay, let's have a look! [Now to snoop around the cupboards to see if there are any.]

[Doot doot doot, looking through every nook and cranny.]

You would have thought eggs would be easy to find in here... [Rummage rummage through the cupboards. She manages to find some jam though.] ... Have you found anything, Aleph?

Not one measly egg.

[technologic]

All I've managed to find is some jam. For a kitchen this big, it's really empty... Guess we have to get ingredients for stuff ourselves.

I can hunt in the forest, but that won't get us any pasta or eggs.

[technologic]

Well, if there are any chickens or birds in general in the forest, we should be able to get eggs from them. Though I think we're gonna have to stay pasta-less...

I've always liked omelettes.

And they seem to be pretty easy to make. So next time I'm in the forest, I'll try to get some eggs.

Same here. It shouldn't be too difficult.
