Sulking [open]
Characters: Suzaku and Open
Setting: Floor sixteen
Format: Starting in prose but I can switch
Summary: Suzaku was off wandering his world when he turned nineteen last month but today is another anniversary and does Suzaku even need an excuse to stare into a bottomless pit and brood?
Warnings: Mostly just angst
Things had started to calm down a little, Suzaku had spoken to Lelouch and though harsh words had been exchanged things were a little better between them. He had spoken to Minato as well, but still felt guilt for what he had done, Ryoji seemed to have disappeared completely though and Suzaku was worried.
Suzaku had woken up this morning and left his room early as he usually did, he didn't really know the two roommates who had replaced Signless and Psiioniic. Probably for the best, since Suzaku's habit of hurting those he was supposed to protect seemed to be getting worse the longer he remained here. So he avoided his room and spent most of his days training or fighting monsters, helping those who needed it but for the most part avoiding people.
But today he didn't go to the meadow or forest. Instead he continued down to floor sixteen this floor had always interested him, a room of nothingness, he sat on the stairs; legs dangling off the side and stared down at the darkness. He was nineteen now, he had realised when he had returned from his dead world that his birthday had been and gone. It was a strange feeling, nineteen and yet still Suzaku Kururugi, if his and Lelouch's plan had worked Suzaku Kururugi would have been dead before he turned nineteen.
Yet it hadn't, they had failed and were stuck here. All their plans for nothing. He stared out into the darkness. The recent events weren't the only reason for his dark mood. Today nine years ago him and Lelouch had stood on a hill and watched the first Britannian planes swarm into Japan. A few days later he had killed for the first time and now...
He had long lost count of how many lives he had taken, how many families he had cut apart. All in the name of saving Japan. His hands gripped the staircase, he couldn't jump; the Geass wouldn't let him. Even if he could he would just wake up tomorrow, and nothing would have changed. He had once been so sure they could escape, that they could defeat their captors. But now he wasn't even sure it was worth trying, it just caused more suffering.
The worlds were gone, they had no where to go. He could throw everything into another plan of Lelouch's, caring only for the end result. But there was no end result. This wasn't Britannia, their captors had more power than any of them could imagine and the power to take away everyone else's.
Still Suzaku had never been one to sit and do nothing. He had to fight, and he had to live.
Even if that second one was through no choice of his own. He stared lost in thought, though his head turned when he heard people approaching. Remaining alert.

best comic relief
Link tries, really.
S-sorry, I... did not see you, Suzaku.
[ HORRIBLE MISTAKE #1: look where you're going on the stairs??? ]

T-thanks for the help up though, fellow Knight! ... Hero? Ehhh. Link accepts the help a bit jerkily, skittish. Maybe the Zelda-stuff has set them on edge or something... ]
No, it is really my fault for not paying more attention, but that hardly matters... thank you. Are... you faring decently, Suzaku? You seem... lost.

... I suppose all of us have had better times. Are you certain you are okay? I... am here, if you want to talk.

Thank you. [He probably wont take him up on it though, because what is talking about your problems when you can just stare into a black hole of nothingness instead.]

... I hope you are not being too hard on yourself regardless, Suzaku.
[ Since, well, you're a friend and Link would be sad if you were. ]

... This implies you deserve it at all. Why would you think that?

To err is the nature of life, Suzaku. What have you done that could possibly make you believe you deserve to punish yourself so badly?
erm warning for suicidle thoughts (I'm sorry...)
But the Geass wouldn't let him so he just stared into the darkness forlornly.] I've done a lot of bad in my life Link.
