[Open] What a lovely day for a picnic~

Characters: Disciple, Dolorosa, and open to anybody!
Setting: Floor Twenty-Five
Format: We're comfortable with any format you decide to put up.
Summary: Dolorosa & Disciple decide they would like a nice time away from it all, so why not have a nice picnic? If you would like something cooked over an open fire, Di will happily cook it for you!
Warnings: Fire and smoke, but only if you are really careless when playing out in the open.

After running to get to this peaceful floor, Disciple happily runs out in the open to floor 25. She falls instantly on the grass and rolls in it as Dolorosa quietly sets up the big blanket and the food. Embarrassed that she wasn't helping out, Disciple gets up and does her fair share by setting up a small fire to cook on.

When done, they both smile at their accomplishment and relax.

She would be able to herself relate. The only thing that had been worse for her than dying in the presence of those under her care in the Labyrinth, knowing that she had failed them there, was the following nightmares of having to witness a worse failure, seeing them all killed before her while she was incapable of preventing it.

"Were it within our grasp to achieve, I should imagine someone might have succeeded before now. I fear it may be beyond us."

Suzaku paused, he was used to trying and staying optimistic even in his mind because really there was no point in making everyone else miserable even if he believed they would be stuck there for the rest of their incredibly long lives... he wondered if it was possible for them to die of old age...

Of course he didn't even know if his Geass would allow that. "I fear you are right..."

Despite her already considerable age, she would have quite a while yet before she would die of old age, and she'd hardly want to watch as everyone else did in the interim.

And on that same topic, she was similarly demotivated from ever returning home. "I really must sympathize with those who left more pleasant circumstances. The extreme transition must be far more difficult to navigate."

Suzaku nodded, it was hard enough for him who had came from a world of war and injustice. It was difficult to imagine kinder worlds, but if they existed then those from them would have to adjust even more to life here.

"There are many who can't fight, and struggle to stay alive for long periods here."

"That is the reason which inspires our own fight, to spare those in a position that wouldn't best fulfill their capacity. It is our burden to bear so that their shoulders can be left clear."

It was the most effective purpose she could find for herself, after everything that she'd gone through after Signless' death.

Suzaku nodded agreeing, in a way that was why he had become a soldier. He had wanted to protect people, he had wanted to save Japan and he saw his path as the best one. It wasn't something he would want others to do, a burden he wanted to save them from.

She took a sip of her tea and tried to shake the thought off. "Though today is for a different purpose than to dwell on such dark matters."

Suzaku nodded, "Of course." He felt a little bad for disturbing her peace and wondered again if he should leave.

She certainly wouldn't have it, but she wasn't inclined to have the heavy mood stay with him. Better if they could both be rid of it. "Tell me, Suzaku, of some pleasantness you've recently encountered." It would be such a shame if he lacked it entirely.

Suzaku had to pause, there was not much good that had happened in the last few months from the competition, dying, his arguments with Jin and his issues with Lelouch.

Months of death and pain but...

"Disciple came and spoke to me yesterday, she is very kind."

"It's true, she is a dear, and a joy to have in one's company. I would hate to imagine a life where she was absent from my heart." This whole activity had been her idea to begin with, after all.

Suzaku nodded agreeing, she definitely made the tower lighter which in a place that held so much pain and suffering was a real achievement.

Dolorosa regarded the silence with some concern before breaking it. "And is that all? It has been a relatively quiet month," aside from th fact that everyone seems to be falling into the despair of their situation, "have you at least been given some opportunity for rest?"

Suzaku thought for a moment, "Link was kind also." He told her, it had been a quiet month in comparison to the one before, and the one before that. But rest hadn't come, not with Minato being Geassed and Lelouch falling unconscious...

"Not really, but I am fine. Truly."
