4th Goal
Characters: Genda and anyone who stumbles across him
Setting: Infirmary and beyond!!
Format: Action is preferred
Summary: Genda finally revives after a sad and gruesome death.
Warnings: Mentions of death, mostly. Will add if there's more.
[Genda can hardly register the fact that he's awake, having never been told about the tower's non permanent death - and once he's able to move, he shoots up and hops right off the bed, despite being a little woozy.
... The infirmary. He had passed out, last he remembers... They probably found him and healed him up, huh? Not that he knows that's not the case; he's actually far from aware of his own death.
But that means - is Feferi okay...? She was covered in burns, and when the monsters picked her up, they --
No, he has to sit back down. He feels sick to his stomach, remembering it all. Now would probably be the best time to find him, though - he needs it!]

[...Feferi. What. Feferi got hurt? Feferi died?????]
S-she...
[Oh man. Oh god. Oh man.]
...she should be... yes...
no subject
Thank goodness. I've never had this sort of thing happen before, but knowing she'll be alright is all I need.
[... Oh - he probably seems a little rude.
He sits up again, fixing his jacket a bit, before giving Equius a smile and a little bow of his head in thanks.]
... Thank you.

[Well, if Feferi already died as this human did, it was probably at least a few hours ago. There was nothing he could possibly do now. And if this human was a friend of hers, then he must have protected her, right? So... he just stands there for a moment, and then sighs. It's still horrible that an Empress, any Empress, had to fall prey, but...]
...never mind.
Are you still dizzy?
no subject
[Never mind what, though...? You can't just do that to him, Genda's curiosity is terrible...]
... I don't want to seem rude, asking this because you happen to be a troll - but do you know Feferi too?
... You reacted weirdly when I mentioned her.
[But why - Feferi's such a sweet girl!]
no subject
[Awkward pause.]
I... I'm not pleased with the idea of having her die. [If you didn't protect her until the end, Genda, he will RAEG pretty hardcore at you.]
no subject
Trust me though, you aren't the only one.
But as long as she'll revive as well, I'm not too worried; I'll just have to protect her even better this time around.
[Even if it breaks him. And don't worry, Equius - not only did he protect her as long as he could, he comforted her until the end. u_u]
no subject
Alright.
In any case, she'll wake up soon... [He looks around. No sign of her body yet.] Until then... maybe you could rest and let that disorientation sort itself out?
no subject
[He hasn't had any proper rest for a long while anyway - so he's definitely going to take that advice and curl back up under the covers.]
... Thank you again for helping me. My name is Genda, for the record.
If Feferi wakes up before I notice, can you make sure she knows I'm alright?
no subject
You're welcome. My name is Equius.
I'll... yes. I'll bring you to her in that event, if you like. [Clearly this human and Feferi were good friends, so he figures that's the least he can do.]
no subject
If you're a friend of hers - then I'm glad. She needs people like you, y'know?
[Shuffle shuffle getting comfy yes.
Sorry, this bed is going to be a mess later, he nests like a cat.]
no subject
[Genda surprises him, though.] ...She does?
no subject
You're nice, and reliable. Everything's been wearing on everyone, but not everyone has supporting friends.
But you - you seem like you'd make a good support, Equius.
[And he's being truthful!]
no subject
[It takes a few moments of staring at Genda in confusion before Equius can really respond. For whatever reason, this tower seems to have several people who randomly decide that he's a Good Person... first Chihiro, now this guy who he doesn't even know. It's pretty freaky, to be honest, and Equius is not quite of the opinion that he deserves it. But of course he can't say that out loud, there has to be a rational explanation, so...]
...But we've only just met.
no subject
You're willing to hang around in the infirmary and help out the injured and weak, no matter how much stronger they may seem - that alone says you're a generous person.
Not only that, but you speak with conviction, despite the stammering. You sound pretty reliable.
Maybe a little nervous, like you aren't used to being around too many people; but I've seen people like that do great things.
[... Well - he shrugs a little bit.]
I don't really know if all that's true or not, but I'm used to having to make quick judgements like this, of my opponents. It's never failed much.
no subject
[No, you're right, Genda. It hasn't failed you much before, and it hasn't failed you now. But... he was getting on so nicely when he doesn't have to say it out loud. That way, it's much easier to pretend he's not acting that way, because he shouldn't be acting that way. Just don't say it. Don't say it and it won't bring up any questions, and everything is so much easier when there aren't any questions.]
[But now Genda has brought it up. That's not how this is supposed to work. No one is supposed to bring it up. That's not what he's doing, he's just doing it because... because...]
[Equius looks much more than uncomfortable, which is what an onlooker might have expected. Instead, he looks downright horrified. And as Equius often does when he's too afraid to handle the irons in the fire at the moment, he turns on his heel and walks away with hunched shoulders, planning to reorganiza the boxes of gauze that someone had opened and strewn all over the place on the opposite side of the room.]
