Summary: This isn't really the first time Hakuno has woken up in a strange area she has never seen before.
Warnings: Spoilers for Fate/Extra endgame. Nothin' other than that!

[Room 3-05]

[As far as last moments go... Hakuno's really wasn't that bad. It was like drifting off to sleep... she had made her wish, and put an end to the Holy Grail War. She had helped Rin escape, and even managed to get a message out to her. Saber was even by her side the whole time. There was that dull throb in her chest, the pain of knowing that she was never going to see her friend or her beloved Servant ever again... but still. She was content.

So, of course, she was completely confused when consciousness slowly returned to her. She was... waking up? But she shouldn't be waking up now...]

Eh...?

[She doesn't really notice the sleep paralysis. Her mind is too busy whirling about a mile a minute - how is she here, what happened back home, is this the real world, what why how what why how - and it's only until it begins giving her a headache that she moves, sitting up in bed and just... staying there. She looks around, confusion clearly written on her face. Just what is going on...?]

[Floor Four]

[After passing many floors in various states of ruin (seriously, what in the world went on here?), Hakuno stopped to pause in one of the lounges. Her face is practically pressed to the glass of the windows, trying to peer out into the nothingness beyond.]

It's so different... there's no way this could be the Moon Cell...

[Cafeteria]

[Hakuno is, more or less, miserable by this point. It's really sinking in that this isn't some fading dream she's stuck in while being deleted. She should be celebrating... that she's out of the Moon Cell, that she's real and alive, but...

She's all alone now. No Rin. No Saber. She had met some people before, so technically she wasn't alone... but the precious friends she bonded so closely with were gone. For someone whose existence was more or less nothing without those two people... it hurt.

It hurt so badly that her appetite wasn't there at all. She's currently sitting at an empty table, head pillowed on her crossed arms, with an untouched bowl of oatmeal in front of her.]

[ Hey those computer things have a name and her roommate probably told her they were called terminals. Either way, Rin's experience with them hasn't been too pleasant. ]

[She doesn't know what the terminals here are like. For all she knows, it is a possibility! Except...] Nobody can connect to it anymore. I sealed it away.

Why would you do something so stupid? [ As a magus, this was possibly regarded as a Very Bad Idea. ]

Ugh, forget it. For now just tell me why I should remember who you are.

Because people kept dying for it, without being able to reach it! [This is pretty much the only good Hakuno has ever been able to do - aside from saving Rin, of course - so of course she sounds pretty fierce. She fought, she killed... putting an end to all of that was really the only thing she could do.] If I just made a selfish wish, that wouldn't stop that cycle from repeating. I couldn't just... let the war continue like that.

[Her shoulders slump a little, her voice softening in sharp contrast to her outburst just now.] You helped me... if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have made it nearly as far as I did...

[angramaintsu]

I helped you destroy something I want? [ More here than ever before. The distance was killing her or she might claim after the past week. ]

And all because you couldn't stomach being a part of the Holy Grail War? Didn't you think of that before you summoned a Servant to your side?

I didn't destroy it. I just sealed it away. [Whatever, they might as well be the same thing.] You didn't help me do that, you just helped me whenever I was struggling against my enemy.

[Rin is acting so... different. Sure, she could be harsh sometimes, but there's a difference between her attitude then and her attitude now.] And I didn't even have a choice! I just suddenly woke up in the middle of that mess and if I didn't participate, I'd die!

Then maybe you should have died. [ Speaking of harsh statements, it seems she's not above keeping her opinion to herself. ]

There are people who train their entire lives to participate in the Holy Grail War. To have someone join in only to seal away what they seek is a selfish move. Do you know how many lives you ruined with your selfishness?

[ There's a small pause as she considers her own words, falling into the usual sympathy shown from all variations of herself. ]

I suppose it couldn't be helped though. You probably though you were doing the right thing.

I did die! [To say something snapped inside Hakuno wouldn't be the right word. Crumbled? She was still reeling from everything that happened, and now one of the only people she could rely on was treating her like a stranger, telling her she should have died...

It hurts. It really hurts. Enough that there are tears in her eyes, as much as she's trying to will them away.]

I'm just some... irrelevant string of data. The shadow of someone hope has long since given up on. [She thought Rin would be able to help her other self, but the way she's acting...] My entire being was supposed to have been deleted so I could stop those people who gave up everything to fight in those wars. [She could still see those pillars that Twice was sitting on... so many...] I don't care if you think I was ruining things. I know I was doing the right thing by locking away something that people were dying in vain for.

[ While Rin can hold the illusion she's truly heartless, there's a part of here that is driven to help those in need. The way the tears formed reminded her of a little girl with dark hair long ago as she leans in towards her with a frown on her face. ]

You're sure it was the right thing to do?

I'm positive. It's one of the few things I've been completely sure of during that War.

What are the other things? [ That was forward, wasn't it? With a cough, she looks away from her. ]

For comparison's sake, that is.

[Forward? Probably. If Rin doesn't remember anything, it would probably seem weird for her. But if Hakuno avoids the question, that might piss Rin off...]

Saving you. It was... difficult, but after everything settled down, I didn't regret it one bit.

[angramaintsu]

Saving me? [ That answer pisses her off just as easily. ]

What makes you think I ever need help being saved? [ The oddities she has with her physical appearance might be one of those things! ]

[She's used to that anger. Hell, anger was the very first thing she was met with when Rin woke up after that ordeal. So she doesn't even flinch at Rin's harsh tone here.]

It was either save you, or watch you - and possibly the rest of the Moon Cell - die in what would probably be the same as a nuclear explosion! [Wow that really sounds weird without context, huh...]

Look, I wasn't trying to insult you or anything by helping you... I know you're the better Master. There's no doubt about it. You're smarter than me, and you're way stronger.

I just... couldn't stand by and watch while you're life was in serious danger.

And that is why you did it? Because of my life being in serious danger... because of the rest of their lives in danger too?

[ There's something about this girl that really bothers her. While anyone can see it's the fact that someone is showing Rin care for the first time in her life, Rin herself is unable to catch onto it herself. ]

You said your name was Hakuno, yes?

[This is good... maybe. Maybe a confused Rin will be easier to deal with than an annoyed one...

... Maybe.

She nods.]

Yes. To... both of those. My name is Hakuno Kishinami.

What kind of name is that? [ Quickly adding after: ] I've never heard of a magi family by the name of 'Kishinami' before.

[ She's trying to evaluate the girl. Wonder why it is she chose to spare Rin's life in a war. In fact, she might even move in closer as though it would aid her further in this. ]

Uh... [Well this is awkward.] To be honest, I don't know what kind of reputation my family has.

[Not that she has a family... that girl though. The one that she had been a copy of.... but no, she didn't want to get into that. She still hasn't decided if that new bit of knowledge is helpful to her or just one last thing she was able to help with.]

I have amnesia. [So she decides to use what she believed for most of the war. It sounds horribly cliche, but it's not terribly inaccurate.] I don't remember anything about my life prior to the Holy Grail War. So I can't really recall anything about what my family was like.

[angramaintsu]

That seems all too convenient of an excuse, but I'll allow it for now. If I discover you're lying to me though, I'll use a geas on you and force you to tell me the truth with a smile.

[ That wasn't a threat or anything, right? Shifting her weight onto another foot, she looks away. ]

I'm going to get going now. You're not going to follow me around, are you?

[No, no, that certainly sounded like a threat! Good thing she was... kind of telling the truth. She was, right...?]

No, I won't. It would be kind of weird to just follow somebody around all the time for no real reason, wouldn't it?

You.. seem like the type that would. [ Looking her over. ]

No, I take that back. You seem like the type that someone else would follow around. Geez, that's annoying to think about.

... Huh? Really? [Well, Saber follows her around without much protest, so that kind of makes sense...]

Why is that a bad thing?

Because it shows you're capable of being a leader. [ And she doesn't like that. ] Which means we're bound to clash against each other in this place.

I don't think I'm a good leader... most of the time during the war, I had people leading me through things instead of the other way around. Like I said before, if it wasn't for you and... one of my other friends... [no no stop the Rani memories from resurfacing, you can't get distracted now.] I wouldn't have been able to make it past my third opponent. I don't think I'd be a very good leader.

And even if I was... I don't think I'd want to clash with anyone else here. There's no point, when we're all stuck in the same situation and trying to reach the same goal, right?

And just what is this goal we're all supposedly aiming towards? You speak of it, but I've never once discussed my intentions in this place.
