Two Heartless Slain. [ OPEN ]
Characters: AU7!Kairi and YOU!
Setting: Floor two, but also the cafeteria.
Format: Prose, but I can match.
Summary: After Monstro's Revenge, Kairi finds that both Tifa and Aerith from her world are gone. She then has a sad. c:
Warnings: None...?
[ Floor Two ]
Kairi had expected to celebrate any victory like usual: check up on her friends and then talk things out with Tifa and Aerith - like normal. However, when she couldn't find them, she wondered if they died in the previous battle. So, she searched for them in the infirmary and...didn't find them there.
That was odd, since she was told that was there people normally came back after dying in the tower. But, maybe because things were so hectic that reviving them took longer than normal due to resources already being stretched beyond capacity.
...Right?
So, she waited for them in the infirmary in hopes of seeing her friends alive and well. And waited. And waited. And waited some more, but her hopes of seeing them were dwindling each passing day.
When she knew she was doing herself more harm than good, she left the infirmary and went in her room, clutching her Wayfinder in her hand. When she arrived, she flopped down on her bed, Wayfinder still in her hand. Maybe... Maybe it was too good to be true, to have a small comfort of home here in the shape of the two people she traveled and grew up with on her journey.
"...Promise me you guys will be okay..."
[ The Cafeteria ]
When the announcement rang in that there was a feast, Kairi didn't exactly feel like celebrating, but she would for the sake of others. Though, anyone who's good at sensing emotions or reading body language would be able to tell that Kairi's heart nor mind was in the game.
However, she was still willing to offer anyone a smile and some cheer as needed. After all, as far as she knew, her needs came last and she didn't want to burden anyone with her worries.
To focus on other things, she'll approach you and say: "Hey, you did great out there! I guess the guys that run this place decided to throw us a celebratory party after all, huh?"

Cafeteria
.....Wait what.
Did great out there? So sorry kid, but he hasn't even done anything yet. What with him being a new arrival and all, he's just here to try and get some food to get that taste of stupid oatmeal out of his mouth.
"All this for that whale?" or was there something else he missed that went on here and no one told him yet.
Floor 2, hope this is okay!
He frowns at her, reaching out a hand.
"Hey, lass? Everythin' alright?"
The Cafeteria - Sorry Kairi, your Aerith is in another Castle!
"Hm... oh! That looks good, I'll save one of those for Cloud for when he comes, and it's pink too!" she absentmindedly chimes to herself as she riffles through the food on offer.
[floor two]
The humming mechanics and clacking footsteps halted when she happened across Kairi, Labrys pausing in her steps to regard the other girl curiously.
"...Hey, Red, you alright? Lookin' awful down if y'ask me."
floor two
Hey, is everything okay?
