Summary: Kirika arrives in an unusual place, time to investigate.

[Dormitory 3-07]

To wake up once again in an unfamiliar place began to felt like a common routine for her. It's not a pleasant thought to say the least. Was this some trick of Val's again? Like an experiment? And what did this letter mean by 'saved'? Kirika sat on her bed as she leaned over the letter in her hand, still in her white jump suit. After she read it again, she tossed it aside and walked over to her trunk at the end of her bed. At least this time she was provided a gun, she set that one close to her. Next was to change from these clothes since it would be difficult to hide her gun. Kirika removed her clothing and replaced them with a tang top and a skirt. She tossed her hoodie over herself before she tucked her gun away from view. After she savaged through her trunk, she looked around at the other three by their beds. If there was anyone in the room, she would go through their trunks as well. Call it a bad habit.

[Gothic Cathedral]

As Kirika adventured to some of the floors, her body came to a halt. She wasn't very religious. Hell, perhaps God already has punished her for her sins, she wouldn't blame the thought of it. What caught her attention though were the stained glassed windows. She stared up at them curiously, perhaps wondered what each image meant. She began from one side of the room and followed the wall as the mumbling continued within the room.

[Aquarium]

Kirika paused once again as the blue ray of lights emits from this room. Perhaps the only room that caught her curiosity, the aquarium. Fish, whales, jelly fishes, and more were in the room. It was as if she was tossed out of a boat in the middle of the ocean. Before she could even place her hand against the glass, there was none. Was what she seeing real? Her hand carelessly leaned towards the water's wall. Just one dip from her fingers and nothing happened. She then pushed her hand through the water.

[To say Hei was surprised was an understatement. It was bad enough he lost Lucy again, but this time, things were slowly growing worse. And yet now Kirika of all people was here? He couldn't believe it.]

Kirika?

[He had stood behind her, calling out to her.]

[There was one voice she could never forget and it was that one. There was no movement from the girl, not even a breath. Hei thought he had it worst? After read that letter and the thought of termination, Kirika was speechless. Slowly the girl turned towards Hei surprised. When she saw his face, her eyes widen.]

Kirika, you remember me, don't you?

[A long shot, yes, but he had to know for certain whether or not this was the friend he knew of long ago, one of the only people he could ever call a "sister."]

[Tears began to roll down her cheeks. Somehow his appearance looked different, no it was different. Her body finally turned facing him.]

Your hair grew out.

[There is no longer any reason to hold back. He rushes to her, embracing Kirika. She was alive! She was alive and here! Tears were rolling down his eyes at the possibility, finally something snapping him out of his depressive state.]

You're alive...

[She didn't move from that spot, allowed Hei's arm to embrace her body. She dropped her head on his chest as she closed her eyes. There were so many questions to ask and yet she couldn't find the words to speak. He was here and alive, that's what mattered.]

[No words came from him, instead all too focused on embracing Kirika right now. It was impossible to pry her at this rate, his feelings not wishing to be broken again. Any form of happiness was welcome now, and this was one of those on the top of his list.]

[So much embracing. She's not saying anything until Hei says a word.]

I'm glad you are alive...

[There isn't much he can say just yet, his feelings still being expressed with that hug.]

[She nods at that. It was nice to hear those words again. Granted she was relieved he was alive.]

Hei... Where are we now?

[Right, that moment of happiness wasn't going to last forever. She needed to know the location and everything else going on at this very moment.]

We are no longer at the facility. Currently, we are residing within a tower in a unknown place.

And Lucy?

[Yes, she had to ask.]

[And any happiness he had felt, months of depression having been lifted, came back like a hit from the space whale. Everything he endured surfaced back, clouding his heart back into the darkness. His face twisted into pain, a single tear passing his eye.]

She...isn't here.

[He couldn't say Lucy was dead. The original? Most likely. The one he loved? He didn't even know anymore.]

[Kirika wasn't good with comforting or optimistic words. Now she regretted asking. Her eyes lowered as she turned them away from Hei, ashamed she asked.]

I lost her...I failed to save her again...

[He didn't care if he was selfish at this rate, not with his heart broken like this. Allowing himself to care about others? Only pain awaited him, clone or not.

Hei, no matter where he was, was not allowed to be happy.]

[*plays linkin park 'crawlin'~*

Hei, Kirika is good with loosing people she grows attach to. Now Kirika reaches out for his sleeve and gives it a tug. Yep, still looking away in shame. Even though Lucy is gone, at least there's someone left.]

[Hei thought he was as well. Lucy was different though, helping him climb out of his hole, and he was able to help her as well. He lost her not once, not twice, not even three times. But four, five if he was to count the original. Suicide, Reavers, memories, and this tower dealing a double blow to him.

It's only when Kirika tugs at his sleeve that he does look up. Kirika. Right, she was still here, right?]

Kirika...

[What could she say? 'Sorry' wasn't cut for losses. She felt his pain, the pain to loose people. All she could do was nod and understand his sympathy.]

[And what could he do? Right now, he simply holds Kirika tighter against him in their embrace. He had her now. He had at least one person he cared for close to him. That...that was something, right?]

[That's right, even as a clone, she had someone close. Kirika wouldn't mind this moment to last longer, but her stomach didn't agree. When her stomach spoke, the girl remained quiet again. Guess who haven't ate yet?]

[Hei blinked. That was...not what he was expecting.]

...Are you hungry?

[Neither was she. Kirika withdraws her head back not saying a word. Instead she gives a nod.]

[He pulls back, giving her room to actually breathe. Well, he could use a good snack himself.]

Let's go to the kitchen. I have some left over deer meat.

[After getting a breather, she nods again ready to follow. Hopefully this place has some tea.]

[Sadly, the menu kinda doesn't have that.

Still, some leftover deer meat and being together again? Good enough.]

[Always, and she doesn't mind helping. Oh, and there's the consuming oatmeal thing.]

[While he usually stays away from anyone else who happens to be in the aquarium any time he is, the way this girl's acting like this is the first time she's seen the glassless tanks draws him to her.]

You'll have to be careful. Some of the things in the tank are pretty vicious and won't hesitate to attack you.

[When she heard Jirou's voice, the young girl withdrew her hand quickly. She turned her head towards him with a curious look. Don't mind the stares.]

[That makes him stare back. While he's always been socially inept, at least when he tries to talk other people they talk back so it's not so bad. Having this girl just stare at him like that is a bit awkward.

Sakuma shuffles his feet a bit and wonders if he should leave.]

[Granted Kirika isn't the best at being social either. Unless she has something useful to say, she'll say it. Even so, she knows herself this person is trying to be helpful. ]

Um... Thank you.

[He shrugs.]

Just thought you should know.

[Besides, the aquarium is kind of his refuge and it'd be inconvenient if there's someone being eaten by fish.]

[But a nice place to draw later. A nod.]

...What is this place?

[Since he's not sure what she's referring to he asks;]

You mean the aquarium? Or the tower?

Tower.

[Cause it's sure way different from the last place she was in. Any information is possible.]

Oh. You're new then. Didn't you get a letter when you woke up?

[Not that he minds telling her. He's just curious.]

[A nod, but it didn't mean she believed it.]

I was 'saved'?

Yeah. But honestly, it probably would have been better if they left you in your destroyed world. It's not that much better here.

[And even though it's not his fault she's here, he still feels bad that she is, he says:]

Sorry.

[She shakes her head at his apology.] Then I wouldn't have to be a burden at least.

[Completely agreeing with him.]

What happens here?

Every so often, the controllers of the tower put us through experiments.

Weekly experiments?

[Well that sounds familiar.]

No, not weekly.

[He's not sure if he could handle weekly experiments.]

Every couple months or so. At least, that's what it's been like since I got here.

[It sucks, really. Is there a small smile on her face? Maybe.]

I see. [She looks back up at the aquarium. She's never seen an aquarium before okay?] ...The other place didn't have this.

'Other place?' You mean, you've been somewhere else that's like the tower?

[That's the first he's heard of something like this.]

[There's a nod.]

A facility actually.

...Oh. I didn't know other similar places existed.

[Somehow learning that makes him feel even sadder.]

Yeah...

[And that's just the icing. Holding her arms together.]
