001 [OPEN]
Characters: Axel; [OPEN]
Setting: Dormitory, fourth level OR First floor
Format: Either prose or action brackets is fine.
Summary: Axel wakes up and does some exploring.
Warnings: None.
Axel, having woken up in a strange place less than a minute before, can feel himself regaining mobility of his body. He sits up on the bed he's in and takes a look around the room. Four beds, he notices; one in each corner, with a nightstand beside each one and a trunk at the foot. He raises an eyebrow at the sparse decoration of the room - aside from the beds and trunks, there seems to only be a single light source. Not too big on interior decorating, he muses. But then he realizes he doesn't have a clue where he is. Is this what happens when you die? After all, he'd certainly been going down that route when he saved Sora...
He moves to the end of the bed and opens up the trunk sitting there. There are only a few things inside - his Organization cloak, shoes, gloves and pants, from what he can tell. He looks down at himself, taking note of the white jumpsuit, and quickly changes clothes, enjoying the familiarity of his black cloak. Then he notices something else -- in the bottom of his trunk is a popsicle stick. Is that...? He picks it up, turning it over to see the word WINNER written on it. Thought so. He tucks it away into a pocket of his cloak for safe-keeping.
It's only then that he notices the two pieces of paper on his nightstand. Moving over, he picks up the first one. "Your world has been destroyed. I saved you. Let's all be happy here." There's no signature or anything else written on it that Axel can find.
"Destroyed?" he mumbles to himself. "Not possible. Sora was supposed to stop Xemnas... what?" There's a definite feeling of dread settling inside his chest at the thought that he has no home to go back to from wherever he is now. He crumples the letter up and tosses it aside. He'll deal with that later.
The second piece of paper seems to be information about where he is now - at least in the loosest sense of the word. Apparently he's expected to sleep in this room at night, and he can find food in the first floor cafeteria. It also explains something about a Network. Thinking it might be useful later, he folds this letter up and sticks it in another pocket.
Might as well go find my way around this place and figure out what the hell is going on, he decides.
Remembering that he can find food on the first floor, Axel decides to go check out the dining area and see what kind of food he can find there. He remembers the letter mentioned something about oatmeal, but he's not really interested in that.
Opening a corridor of Darkness from where he's standing, he uses it for a quick route to the first floor without having to take who-knows-how-many flights of stairs.
He steps through the other end of the corridor of Darkness and finds himself in the kitchen on the first floor.

He's tried and tried but no matter how much he tries to reason out and explain what's happened to him Roxas can't think of any plausible explanation that rules out what the notes have told him. The tower's dangerous is a way he's never encountered before. More than a few times he's had some close calls....and ultimately he chooses not to venture much further than the dorms. There's the occasional trip to the kitchens (after realizing he wouldn't be able to eat anything until he'd eaten oatmeal, just like the note said) but for the most part he just sort of...wanders.
The one room he's found himself able to get to without much trouble is the 38th--at least nothing there is out to get him every time his back is turned and he's granted a fair view of...well, fog mostly. But it's better than seeing nothing but stone walls, and it's from a short visit to that area that he's now making his way back into the dorms from. He'll turn a corner towards where 4-10 ought to be...
...And nearly runs into the redhead while trying to enter the wrong dorm room, apparently. "--Oh. Sorry..."
The half-elf will step back quickly to make room for the red head, avoiding eye contact.

"Roxas!?" he all but shouts. Roxas was the last person he expected to see here, what with him being part of Sora again. "What are you doing here? How did you get here?" This is impossible!
no subject
"I...that's...--the note." That's how? Apparently anyway--he's not 100% sure either. And then,
"Do I know you?"
no subject
This isn't the first time Axel's seen that blank stare on Roxas' face. He sighs. "Did you bump your head on something? Lose your memory again? I'm Axel. You know: your best friend? Ringing any bells?" He really, really hopes this is some weird joke Roxas is playing on him. He's already been through this once before...
no subject
"Um...sorry, but I don't really know any humans. Or anyone named Axel--you've got the wrong person."
no subject
Remembering his earlier attempts to help Roxas regain his memories, and how that didn't really work so well in the end, Axel decides to try a different route. He'll play along, at least for now. Pretend like they've never met. And maybe eventually he can get through to his friend.
"Sorry, my mistake. I'm Axel."
no subject
First impression? This guy's a little odd. But then again so is everything inside this tower. It's possible he's just as disoriented as Roxas is.
no subject
Then again, he can't quite put his finger on what, but something about Roxas seems different, and it's not just the blank stare.
"Have you been here long?" he asks, trying to think of something to talk about. Something fairly neutral.

Hello there. How are you doing?
[It's what normal people do, right?]
no subject
He grins at her. "I'm alright. And you, miss? How are you doing?" After all, it's only polite to return the question.

"Why the change in food?" If it can even be called food.

She pauses, then giggles, a bit sheepish. "I forgot. My name's V/V, it's nice to meet you."
no subject
He grins at her and says, "Well, if they're not fired, we can always just... dispose of them." He's joking, of course. Even if it isn't a very funny joke. Too much time spent manipulating people.
no subject
"Nice to meet you, Axel. I think people have been trying to do that, but they're not getting anywhere." Even if she'd rather nobody be killed, she understands why people would want to.

"Oh, good, I don't want anyone to have to die even if they're mean to us."
in the hall
It's called a Reno, and he's currently slapping handwritten advertisements for the reopening of Seregi's II on the wall and humming idly.
"Y--oh?" His greeting fell flat at the sight of Axel, he'd caught the red out of the corner of his eye and thought it was Sparky.
Re: in the hall
Axel pauses, then turns to stare at guy. He narrows his eyes in confusion. "Do I know you?" Red hair. Sounds like him. What in the world is going on here?
HERP. This got burried D:
"...I fuckin' hate this place." it's muttered, and he more sighs than anything at his voice coming from someone else. "You might, might not. This place is wierd like that. Name's Reno, and no. I really don't know why you look like me unless you're some alternate reality son of mine or something. Which really wouldn't be a surprise at this point."
Floor 1! Also I am sorry I tl;dr so much
Her worried train of thought screeches to a halt, however, when she sees the red hair. Red hair, and an Organization coat...
She's pushing herself to her feet and hurrying in his direction - as fast as her protesting ribs would allow - before she can really process what's happening.
"Axel!"
It's only several feet away that her brain catches up with her feet though, and she skids to a halt. He had disappeared from the Tower, she knew that. And now he was back. That meant... he might not remember. He didn't last time after all... And if he didn't remember... The relief flooding her quickly turns into worry.
"Axel?" she asks this time, her voice cautious.
Floor 1! No worries!
And, well, she seems to know him. Somehow.
He tries to keep the confusion off his face, but he's not sure he succeeds. "Hello there!" After a brief pause, he adds, "Do I know you from somewhere?"
no subject
She looks down and away. Somehow this is so much harder than it'd been last time.
"I... yeah... sort of," she says, quietly, "Or... you did. It's... hard to explain."
no subject
"Are you okay?" Okay, so it's kind of blunt, but he's a little off guard right now. He's not sure what to do about this situation.
sklfsj sorry this is so late orz
Yeah, I'm fine.
[No, she's not. And it's probably pretty obvious. But she doesn't want to dwell on that. Think about the fact that she's been forgotten again.]
Y-you just got here, right? I... I can help you, if you want. I've been here a while.
no subject
Not to mention he's holding onto what looks like the Oathkeeper Keyblade as he peruses the kitchen... and sighs. Because, of course, there's nothing but nutrition bars.
It's only when he turns away from the counter that he catches onto Axel. The red hair, those marks under his eyes, and that coat... they're all fairly familiar to this Riku, so pardon him if he looks a little tense.]
You...
[Sadly, he doesn't have a name to go off of. The Axel in his world barely stuck around to begin with.]
no subject
"And you," he answers with a bit of a smirk. He doesn't know much about the kid in front of him, except that he has a Keyblade (in fact, has one on him right now - and that particular one is familiar. Hadn't Roxas been using it?), and that Sora was searching for him.
no subject
[He places a hand on his hip, looking Axel up and down. Hmm...
Well, it's not like he knows much about him. Then there's the fact that people get drawn in from different universes all the time. While Riku's not about to dismiss his Keyblade just yet, it'd be stupid to jump to any conclusions. Especially when his knowledge of the Organization is limited outside of what he's seen with his Replica and XIII.
Riku sighs.]
Not that it really matters in a place like this.
Cafeteria
He seems to be half glaring at it, and half... contemplating something. And the contemplation half of his look?
It's the look of someone that isn't sure whether they want to set something on fire or not. Decisions, decisions...]
cafeteria
Roxas didn't even visibly react at first to seeing that bright mop of hair anymore. Half of him was pretty surprised how disillusioned the tower had made him about such things, but the other half was at least nice enough to get up from the table he'd been sitting at, and approach him. Honestly, he looked more like he was exhausted, from the bags under his eyes, but this was sort of a responsibility of his now.
"Did you just arrive?" He wouldn't be surprised if he was wrong. He hadn't been really getting out and about much, lately.
