☆ Dawn
Characters: Al Saiduq and Jun (also England?)
Setting: Forward-dated to ???; morning on Floor Twenty-Nine.
Format: Prose?
Summary: Temporal discussions and the birth of new flora. In other words, really pretentious girly stuff.
Warnings: Jun and Alcor being ridiculous. Also, probably Alcor being depressing, since that happens every time these two thread anyway. Potential onset of Britishness later on.
Sometimes- well, most of the time -Alcor missed Sol. Being the next closest star, as well as the more conventional one, gave him a sort of unspoken bond with the celestial body that would have been hard to put in human terms. Frankly, the Sun didn't give him any of the benefits it gave mankind, as he was too long-lived to really bat an eyelash at a 'day' passing...but it still had an effect on him. More like a comforting wave from a neighbor, if he had to simplify the phenomenon.
But, Sol was not the light shining down from the heavens here. To be frank, Alcor wasn't sure he wanted to try and divine how any sort of sufficient light got in to the various outdoorsy floors, but the plants seemed to grow all the same. He had been concerned at first, knowing full-well that they also required a certain amount of nutrition that Alcor was simply not equipped to supplement, but his worries were for naught.
It was most likely that he was still thinking too hard about all of that however, as a simple outing of "let's go plant more flowers!" had become yet another contemplative philosophy moment for the star. A small seed was pinched between his fingers as he carefully placed it in to one of the newly dug holes. It seemed he was placing them individually in some sort of pattern...?
"Perhaps I have underestimated plants, as well. They seem quite able to thrive in such harsh conditions, even without the Sun's affection." Another seed was picked out of the pack, the star teetering in his crouched position to reach for it. "Maybe this place is not so devoid of life."

"And it didn't take that long either. For everything in this Tower, it was surprisingly easy. And I admit, I enjoy small things like that." Sort of menial and vaguely academic preoccupations were basically what his childhood was made of after all.
"How have you been?"
no subject
tl;dr humanity uguu okay let's keep this going whatever.
"I have been better, in comparison." Let's just not get too deep on to that subject okay? "I was attempting to commune with nature, but it seems it is not as talkative as I remembered."
...under his feet, the seed holes seemed to be in some sort of chaotic whorl, spinning in to itself and then, thanks to careful placement, gave the illusion of swirling back outward.
In other words, it looked like he was trying to create plant Cthulhu.
no subject
He looked at the ground and was...a bit... more than nervous about the fact that the seeds are doing. "Um... is everything alright...? I... don't think that's supposed to be happening..!"
no subject
Alcor touched down to the ground, careful to avoid stepping on any of the holes, and the illusion broke like an optical illusion. Alcor swept his hand to point a little ways away, where a perfectly normal row of flowers was likewise planted.
"I simply wanted to see if they would reflect their environment as they grow, or if they would take on their own properties all the same. I have not gotten much time to observe the willpower of plants."
WILL IT CHAOS, PLANT EDITION.
no subject
The fact that it was an illusion made him feel...a bit better, but that didn't stop his head from spinning when the illusion was actually broken. Physics just didn't work like that--!
"I think you might get better results if you just let them grow naturally. Assuming they even grow naturally here...Although, given what happened last month, and the fact that they're already back, it's entirely possible their growth rate is highly irregular...."
Well, that was an understatement.

Alcor's UGUU has surpassed humanity. It has now delved in to ALL EARTHLINGS.
"They wish to be, just as we do. I cannot blame them for rushing. I simply wish they would ask for help if they so needed it."
After a moment, Alcor shook his head and smiled, before motioning Jun over to a flowerless patch that he had yet to seed.
"I wanted to plant some of them in the shape of the Dipper. Is that silly of me?"
no subject
"I don't think it's silly," He said with a smile, moving over near the empty patch and looking at it with a smile. "It's sort of like a family portrait."
no subject
Said as if this was a totally normal thing and not a big deal at all.
"Ah...a family portrait."
The words hung in the air for a moment, but they weren't weighed down with as much anguish as they might have been before. It was more bittersweet.
"Yes, I think I will do this. But, I may need to invest in some help..."
Without warning, Alcor let his heels touch the grass, before spreading his arms and flopping backwards in to the grass.
"He whom you house, Chronos- his help, specifically."
no subject
"Huh? My Persona?" Then again it...was Al Suha, he wasn't that terribly surprised, but other people seeking counsel with his own Persona was still an odd thing.
"What for?"
no subject
We hope you've been studying GREEK lately Jun"Cronus, Father of the first harvest, or Chronos, Father of time itself...whichever one you house would be a boon to my attempts with negotiating with the flora here."
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
no subject
You'd think he'd have thought about this given how much of a nerd he is."Um... if you say so..." It wasn't like it was hard to bring Chronos out anyway, and the Persona seemed a bit amused at Al Suha's desires itself. So he brought his hand to his chest in concentration, and the Persona manifested above him.
"The Star Alcor, Sword of the Great Will and that which shines most dull and bright... I am Chronos. It hath been many years since I have spoken to one of your own."
no subject
"Likewise, it has been uncountable eons since I have spoken to one of yours." Alcor took pretty well to talking to, well, a floating figment above someone's head at least. He even stood back up!
"I seek your guidance, on the matter of growth. You, who allow all things to come to age and bloom, are much more suited to this task than I."
Saiduq pressed his hand to his collarbone area, looking slightly pleading. "Time is not within my grasp- it is foreign to one as old as I. How does one adjust to growing in hours, when they have before only lived in infinity?"
He...was probably not talking about plants anymore.
no subject
"It is with the passage of Time that allowed your light to come, and with the passage of Time that moved you to action. Neither you nor the Great Will have lived within true infinity; nor the Crawling Chaos, nor mine harbinger Philemon. Though your realm extends beyond mortal comprehension, all flow with Time, and with Time flows Change. As does all within the World.
"Yet still, Time remains an illusion. An arbitrary measure created by humanity to impose Order. Though one may understand its linear flow, beyond that, its comprehension is not needed. You will change, as with all things in this universe."
no subject
The star looked down, crossing his hands over his sternum. "Such things have never bothered me before. Nothing is in absolutes...but man's span is so short. As a species, as individuals...I find I have difficulty adjusting to this. Accepting it."
...o h.
no subject
Though there seemed to be a slight ripple of discontent from Chronos, as to this topic-- the Tower didn't so much obey the passage of mortal time, after all--, he continues. "It is because of man's short time that he can accomplish more than the being that stagnates for centuries. Their short time is what forces them forward-- whether from fear of the Reaper or desire to extend it. To abolish it would to make them another still race, and take away one of the things that make them that which you have grown so fond of.
"Grief over their passing is natural, and to be expected. It is what has marked your own passage through Time.""
no subject
It was hard, and he wasn't particularly happy about the response, but...there was a sense of peace in it. The alternative was more horrific than the thought of temporary loss- especially to one who saw the record.
"I thank you graciously, Chronos. I feel you have soothed me on this subject." He gave the persona a grin and a bow. "Someday I pray to have your steady hand, and one so brilliant to house me."
no subject
"For all the centuries that pass for those on high, there will never be one so old as to outgrow my bounds."
He shifted his position in the air, folding his hand across his own chest and bowing in mid-air towards Alcor. "I am Chronos, he who wields the unholy sickle and watches the days from prehistory; I look forward to the day you join us, you Aid of Humanity."
With those words, Chronos disappeared, and Jun sprung to attention again. Apparently he had closed his eyes and spaced out, to allow Chronos his part.
no subject
"Thank you, for allowing me to talk to Chronos." The star's eyes closed, and his grin turned more pleased. "I am comforted that he dwells within the sea of your soul. That you have such potential for wisdom yourself astounds me."
no subject
His smile was a bit sheepish though, at the latter part. Though it was pretty genuine compared to the other smiles he usually gave off.
"I don't know about that... Chronos is my Persona, but he knows much more than I do. I don't think I could even begin to come near him..."
no subject
Casually imagining Shining One with Alcor purse, does this count as uguu thoughts or not.
no subject
"Thank you for your vote of confidence, but..." His smile was gone at this point, and his expression grew distant and lost in thought. He had already proven himself time and time again to be more fool than wise man.
No need to dredge up that right now though. He shook whatever it was off, and smiled again. "Do you need any help with the flowers?"
Smoooooothly changing the subject aw yeah.
