01 Lost Kid in Hallway Alert!

Summary: Bitty Yamato wakes up in a decidedly unfamiliar place - and his first instinct is to wander about aimlessly trying not to panic.
Warnings: None for the moment, except bratty genius child alert

Yamato was barely managing to keep his indifferent expression up as he made his way through this strange place's hallways. His geta clacked loudly against the floor, and he held his hands up to his chest as if preparing to suddenly protect himself against an ambush. Hey, he had obviously been kidnapped, so an ambush was very likely to happen!

He was, to put it simply, very scared. He had never left his house before, never even went outside, and suddenly he is placed in an alien building with the news that his world had been destroyed? How could that be? He was raised to protect Japan so - what would his purpose be now? And where was Alcor? Had he been destroyed too? No...no he was too powerful for that! No doubt he would appear at any moment and take him back home, yes...

He just had to find him!

So if you're wandering the hallway, you may see a young child in a black and gold kimono, looking more than a little frightened and confused. Don't try to startle him, you might get a weak Agi singing your eyebrows off - or do startle him if you're mean enough, just to see could hit the ceiling.

Yamato logged those names away. Dax, Riki, Jason, Ruana and Zo. Jason and Ruana were the biggest threats.

"I see. What bad things do they do?" It sounded like they were the sadistic wardens of this jail...it would be good to learn what awful torture schedule they had for its prisoners.

[myblueskies]

"Lots of bad things..." Romeo frowned, "A week or a bit ago they swapped everyone's bodies around so everyone was in the wrong person, it was a bit scary."

He looked serious now, "They do experiments or play mean games and hurt everyone. But you will be okay, as long as you stick with your friends!"

They- they did what? They stuck people into each other's-?! That was...awful! Yamato felt his skin crawl at the thought of someone else being in his body. How abhorrent...

"Friends...?" Yamato questioned, frowning a bit at Romeo. "I don't have friends." There was no need for them. They would simply distract you from your duties.

Romeo blinked, that was really sad! Everyone needed friends especially when they were kids, adults pretended not to need friends as much but even they got sad and lonely when they were alone or their friends got hurt. Romeo had seen it.

He bit his lip feeling really sad for a moment; but it did not take much for him to make up his mind. "Well I'll be your friend! So that's one friend you've got okay and there's lots of kids here in the tower and I'm sure they will be your friends too because they are all really nice!"

Yamato was - baffled? Did making friends really work like that? He was certain it required a certain social ritual and time spent together before the relationship could be deemed as 'friendship'. That is what his human psychology books said.

Besides, he didn't need friends. He was to be a leader, and leaders did not have time to balance such relationships with their work.

"You don't know me," Yamato said bluntly, "So why would you want to be my friend?"

"Because everyone should have friends." Romeo grinned at him again, not phased by the less than warm reception to his friendship; it was something he was used to by now. Lots of people were strange about friendship here. "And this is a bad place, you need friends even more to help protect you!"

Romeo had made up his mind, nothing was going to deter him. "I'm Romeo, what's your name?"

Friends to protect you? No, that was what demons and subordinates were for. Hrm, ah, maybe this person meant they would form a sort of alliance...? Yamato could do that. Considering the dangerous situation he was in, he couldn't afford to be picky over allies.

"Yamato Hotsuin," he returned proudly, puffing himself up a bit. "Very well, I accept your proposal of...friendship." Alliance. Whatever.

Romeo grinned happily and reached out to grab Yamato's hand and raise it into the air. "I'm glad Yamato!"

"Er-" Yamato looked a bit bewildered when his hand was taken and lifted up. "What are you doing?"

Romeo grinned, "We're friends now, it's a promise!" Because this was how you made friends, and kept your spirits up.

He let go of Yamato's hand and smiled again, "Are you hungry?"

Yamato stared at his hand for a moment, flexing his fingers with a small, puzzled frown. A promise...?

"Ah...perhaps a little," he replied, lowering his hand.

[myblueskies]

Romeo grinned again, "Then lets go to the cafeteria! We get proper food at the moment! You got to eat oatmeal first but it's really not too bad and then you get to eat whatever you like!" He grabbed Yamato's hand again, this time to pull him down the corridor.

"A-Ah wait-!" Yamato stumbled a little, a bit shocked that his hand was being grabbed again. What was with all the touching?! It made him instinctively recoil from the foreign invasion of his personal space and-

Romeo, you're going too fast. His geta aren't very good to walk in and he's only little...!

Romeo did wait, turning to see what was wrong. He looked really scared and Romeo wondered if he had thought he would hurt him, Romeo was bigger than him after all even if he wasn't an adult.

He hadn't had friends before so maybe he just didn't understand friendship. "It's okay Yamato, I wont ever hurt you because I am your friend! That's what being friends is okay, we'll walk slower okay!"

Yamato was huffing a little, now a little bit red out of bewildered embarrassment. Civilian children were strange...!

"Well - make sure you do! I can't walk very fast!"

[myblueskies]

"Okay! I'll walk really slowly." He took his hand again walking much slower. "What's your favourite food... There's lots of stuff here and you can eat as much as you want!"

[bittydragon]

"Favourite food...?" Yamato repeated, relieved when Romeo didn't bolt off again. He easily kept up with him, his geta clacking loudly against the floor, although he felt a bit twitchy holding hands with some stranger, basically.

"I have none. Food is to be consumed to meet dietary needs - the taste matters not."

Romeo blinked at the big words, but thought that maybe Yamato hadn't been allowed to eat lots of food before, Romeo hadn't had a favorite food before the tower either. That was a long time ago though.

"Well this month we got a lot of this vegetable called pumpkins, they are orange and really tasty!"

[bittydragon]

"I know what a pumpkin is," Yamato said flatly. He wasn't an idiot. There was a pause though. "I like pumpkin seeds."

[myblueskies]

"Oh they got lots of those!" Romeo grinned, "I like them too! They are really tasty, I like the pumpkin milk too!"

[bittydragon]

"I have never tried pumpkin milk..." You can make milk out of pumpkins?

[myblueskies]

"Neither had I before but it's really yummy!"

Apparently so, or at least you could in this tower so... "They have pumpkin pie and cake and fizzy drink too!"

[bittydragon]

"Cake? Fih-sey?"

Yeah, Yamato's just confused. What are those things?

[myblueskies]

"Fizzy is when it goes all bubbly and makes your nose tickle. It's really strange at first but Molly says it's the most tasty way of drinking things and she knows all the things about what food is the best.

Cake is the yummiest food! Miss France taught me to make it! I can make you some!"

Civilians really made up the strangest of concoctions to eat, didn't they? Yamato was curious despite himself. How did they make a drink bubbly? Maybe through the use of carbonated water...some form of chemical reaction, that of course is harmless to the human body.

"Yummiest? I am unfamiliar with that word."
