01 Lost Kid in Hallway Alert!

Summary: Bitty Yamato wakes up in a decidedly unfamiliar place - and his first instinct is to wander about aimlessly trying not to panic.
Warnings: None for the moment, except bratty genius child alert

Yamato was barely managing to keep his indifferent expression up as he made his way through this strange place's hallways. His geta clacked loudly against the floor, and he held his hands up to his chest as if preparing to suddenly protect himself against an ambush. Hey, he had obviously been kidnapped, so an ambush was very likely to happen!

He was, to put it simply, very scared. He had never left his house before, never even went outside, and suddenly he is placed in an alien building with the news that his world had been destroyed? How could that be? He was raised to protect Japan so - what would his purpose be now? And where was Alcor? Had he been destroyed too? No...no he was too powerful for that! No doubt he would appear at any moment and take him back home, yes...

He just had to find him!

So if you're wandering the hallway, you may see a young child in a black and gold kimono, looking more than a little frightened and confused. Don't try to startle him, you might get a weak Agi singing your eyebrows off - or do startle him if you're mean enough, just to see could hit the ceiling.

That expression wasn't hard for Aleph to decipher. The kid was probably new, and even if he wasn't, stopping to offer some help wouldn't be amiss.

Aleph called out to him as he approached. "Do you need help?"

Yamato twitched slightly, stopping in the middle of the hallway to stare at the stranger warily. Were they friend or foe? At least if he met strangers at the Hotsuin Estate, he knew they were safe, but in this unknown place - who knew what weird and horrible people lived here!

"...perhaps," Yamato replied after an uncomfortably long pause, lowering his arms reluctantly. "Who are you?"

"My name is Aleph." Aleph nodded his head a little. "I'm another captive of this place. What's your name?"

Yamato frowned.

"I am Yamato Hotsuin," he replied reluctantly. His gaze became a bit more intense then, and he straightened up to stare at this stranger - Aleph - imperiously. "Tell me where I am. Who is it that has kidnapped us?"

A mortal child? ... Yes, but one with some sort of power. Fou-Lu can sense as much, and so he approaches the child cautiously, before calling out to him.

"Child. Art thou newly arrived here? We hast not seen thee before."

Children are not the type of mortals he's used to talking with... but he does feel some vague sense of responsibility towards them, possibly because they align properly with his title as the Dragon of the Future.

Yamato felt him before he saw him, a great prickling wash of power that made the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end. He stood stock still, his hands held close to his chest as he saw the stranger move towards him. This power...it was almost suffocating!

Yamato keenly felt the absence of Alcor then. He was far too used to the powerful demon being ready to defend him at a moment's notice to know what to do in a situation like this. He wasn't strong enough to fight by himself and win, Hotsuin or not.

"..." Yamato straightened himself up and stared intently at the stranger. Weak or not, he wasn't going to cower! "Yes. Newly arrived."

Fou-Lu nodded, silently wondering how mortals dealt with children. Even after a rule of ten years, he had never encountered many young mortals - they were never on the battlefields, of course, and the only ones he saw in the Empire were peasant children running about or the occasional child brought along with a parent to the court.

"... Hast anyone explained this place to thee?"

Hopefully someone had... he had no idea how to phrase this for such a young mortal.

Romeo was wandering the hallways when he saw someone knew, he had noticed not many new people had came for a little while. He had hoped that the bad people had given up bringing people. But it seemed that they hadn't.

"Hello!" Romeo waved at the boy with a big smile, he seemed little and a bit lost and so Romeo wanted to help him. "Did you just get here?"

Yamato looked a bit startled at the enthusiastic greeting, stiffening up like a deer caught in the headlights of an upcoming truck before forcing himself to relax. Ah, it was a civilian child, or so it seemed anyway...probably only about four of five years older than him.

"...yes," he replied warily, his expression cold as he stared at the older kid. "I just woke up in a strange room. Who are you?"

"I'm Romeo!" He skipped closer with another smile. "This is the tower, bad people brought us here and they say the world is ended. But they might be lying." He sounds far too enthusiastic for this news.

"You're in a big tower."

A child, in the tower? Well, it wasn't as if it was unheard of (the selection seemed to mostly be random), but they seemed a lot younger than the other kids Jun had seen running around here ever now and then.

So he approached carefully, a frown on his face. Didn't want to scare him even more or something. "Um... Are you alright? You seem a bit lost... is this your first day here?"

Yamato, of course, was on the defensive when the stranger approached him. Waking up in an alien place...of course he will be mistrustful of any who came near him.

"...yes," he replied after a pause, his hands still raised to his chest. His expression was very still and cold, his gaze intense as he stared up at the stranger. He didn't seem hostile, but... "Who are you?"

Dang, this kid was pretty intense. Though he supposed it wasn't unlike a lot of the other little kids he knew when he was younger... nevertheless, he did hold his hands up in front of him a bit and kept at a distance.

"My name's Jun Kurosu. Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you or anything..."

Eridan recognizes the stance, if not the boy. And he sympathizes with it, really. Not very fun, to be thrown in a place like this, and a kid that young? He's been led to believe that human children are nowhere near as... resilient as trolls, so he's probably having a hard time in a place like this. Everyone has a hard time in a place like this. So he offers a small smile as he approaches.

"Are you lost?"

You have to forgive Yamato for looking more than a little wary when a strange horned being approaches him. He stands very still, very much like a rabbit frozen in fear, his hands held up high to his chest as he gives the stranger an intense look.

"..." Hrm. This weird thing didn't look hostile... "Maybe."

"It's okay," Eridan's smile widens a little as he sinks his hands into the pockets of his jacket. "It takes a while to get the hang 'a this place. Would you like some help?"

Ishtar's been busying herself with small deeds here and there, and the last thing she expected to see here was yet another small child. Facility was already a bad place inhabiting even clones of small children, but this was different. She didn't know who was an original human being or an artificial one. It didn't really matter to her since all she could process was that there was a small boy and he probably needed help. The princess approached him slowly, though calling out to him so that she wouldn't scare him.

"Hey...are you alright?"

Yamato paused, watching as a young woman approached him. He kept his hands up, just in case, and gave her a mistrustful stare. Females were the worst, Yamato knew, especially when they were demons. They were a lot more finicky, and surprisingly crueller than their male demonic counterparts.

He hadn't spoken to many human woman though - of course, if this one was even human...

"Who are you?"

Ishtar gave him a worried look as he looked at her. It appeared that he was a bit more than mistrustful. It seemed like he didn't want her to approach him. She lowered her hands a little, fixing her eyes on him when he asked.

"My name is Ishtar, and I've been in this place for a while. Are you lost?" she mused softly.

Whatever Mami was expecting while wandering the Tower, this was not it.

She'd done her work on the farmland for the day, and had been heading to the cafeteria to get something to eat - and then there was a tiny in the halls. He seemed to be a noble child too, from the way he was dressed. So she thought, anyway, but that didn't matter. The fact remained that there was a child in this terrible place.

Managing a slight smile, she walks up to the little one, noting that he looks more than a little scared; it's understandable, of course. "Are ye all righ'?" She makes sure to keep her voice as gentle as possible when asking this; she's dealt with upset kids before, in Sonne.

The situation there wasn't like this, though. The kids were usually just upset about not getting a task right...all the more reason to be as kind as possible, then.

Yamato frowned cautiously at the woman approaching him, his hands lifting up until he was hiding the bottom half of his face behind the long sleeves of his kimono. He was a bit wary of women, but don't take it personally. The only 'females' he really dealt with were either cold tutors or demons - mostly demons.

"...I am fine. Who are you?"

She smiles at him gently. Of course he'd be a little wary of strangers - why, he'd basically just been spirited away. As far as she's concerned, this is a normal reaction.

"Me name's Mami, an' Ah be a farmer here."

Shion had pretty much recovered from the last week; he had spent a lot of time with Xion and Reno worried that if he let them out of his sight they would get hurt again.

He was on his way back from the cafeteria when he saw the kid looking lost in the corridor. "Are you alright?"

He was younger than a lot of the kids that ran around this place, it made Shion feel sick to think of what they had to endure here, and helpless as there was nothing he could do about it.

Yamato snapped a suspicious glower at the other man, noting his unique eyes and markings. Although pale hair was common in the Hotsuin line, crimson eyes were still something that humans did not naturally have.

However...he couldn't sense anything spiritual about him. Nothing more than the average human, in any case.

"...who are you?"

Shion didn't seemed phased by the blunt question, he figured the kid was scared. Shion had been terrified arriving here; it would be much worse for children. "My name is Shion, you are new, right? Do you need help?"
