Must be dreaming, or...
Characters: Ishimaru and YOOOOU
Setting: A couple of places.
Format: Interpretive Dance. I mean, whichever one you want.
Summary: Another dazed and confused new arrival...
Warnings: Slight concussions and probably gross sobbing at least once.
The first thing he was aware of was a pounding headache.
The second was that he couldn't move... or had he just forgotten how? Whatever the problem was, it didn't last very long, and the young man finally brought a hand to his face with a quiet groan. He could hear the sound of paper crinkling as it pressed against his forehead, but it took him a few moments to realize he was holding it.
A note...? It was important somehow, he just knew it! If only the words would stop blurring as he tried to read them... There. Your world has been destroyed. I saved you. Let's all be happy here.
That... wasn't the note he was expecting, was it? No, there was something else more important. Something he'd forgotten. Of course, the note he did have was much more alarming. The world had been destroyed? When? How? What did that even mean? If he was here, there was no way the world was destroyed. That's all there was to it.
(His head was killing him...)
It wasn't until after he got out of bed that he realized that he had no idea where 'here' was. This room was nothing like his dorm at Hope's Peak Academy. Had he passed out and been brought somewhere else? He couldn't recall. All he knew was that he had to find a computer. One very specific laptop. It was... special somehow? A clue? He'd remember when he found it.
For now he stumbled around the dorm, dizzy but determined to get his bearings on his new surroundings.
---
The wisest thing would be to rest and relax until the headache was gone. Unfortunately, concussion or no, Ishimaru was kind of stubborn when he put his mind to something. He had located the trunk at the foot of his bed and dressed himself in one of the uniforms he found inside, feeling much more comfortable now that there was at least some familiarity around him.
He clutched both notes tightly in his hand as he roamed the halls, hoping that somehow... someone would reveal that this was all a prank. Or that he was dreaming. Or, at the very least, that he could find the special thing he was looking for and remember why it felt so urgent in the first place.
---
At some point, Ishimaru realized how hungry he was. Like he hadn't eaten in days. He'd been able to locate the cafeteria, and as bland and unappealing as the porridge he'd been given was, he was more than happy to fill his belly with anything. At least the hunger meant he was still alive and that this was all real, right?
The headache should have been enough proof in the first place. It almost made him too nauseous to eat, except his hunger won out in the end.

...What're you talking about? There's nothing you could've done! Me'n' Fujisaki didn't tell you we were meeting up, nothing could've changed that, so there's no way you could've been there. ...If you were, what makes you think you would've stopped me? Might've kill you instead. Or both of you. Rest of us're thinking it's like a second chance or whatever, yeah. But you don't gotta look after me, been here a while, been the one looking out for other people. That's what I'm doing with my second chance, but you didn't get killed, this's just a break from that fucked up school.

For now, he can't let go of the fact that Mondo pretty much just admitted that he could have killed him just as easily. Ishimaru doesn't want to believe that, but after the trial... there's a small part of him that has doubts.
It hurts.]
. . .
[He releases Mondo's arm.]
Second chance or not, I'll still use this as an opportunity to look out for others as well. You can't shoulder that burden alone... I won't allow it!
[Wait, did he say "the rest of us?"]
...Just who else is here?
no subject
Guess now there's me and you, Naegi, Fujisaki, Kirigiri...Oogami, Asahina, Hagakure, that, uh, Celes or whatever...oh, and Kuwata. Used to be Maizono and Enoshima too, don't know what happened to them. ...The bear, too. Bastard's gone now.
no subject
But that's... very nearly all of us! Dead or alive. I... don't understand how that can be...
[There are waaay too many questions he wants to ask. Some of them are only half-formed in his mind. What if everyone is actually dead?]

...But I am very thankful for it! Who is in charge here? I should thank them personally!
[NO...]
no subject
[Yeah, no.
Just, no. Everyone wants to punch Jason. Everyone. Don't go thanking him or any of the others...]
Don't think you wanna do that. Told you to wait and see what it's like. Go and stop giving us food or experiment on people all the time.

But he has been here longer. So Ishimaru will trust his judgment.]
How long should I wait before deciding, exactly?
no subject
Need to let me handle things, alright? Owe it to you.
no subject
I... will wait to get a better handle on the situation before I act rashly. However, you don't owe me anything!

[For several reasons surrounding the trial, all of which he doesn't want to voice. Believing in him until the end, only to be let down and crushed by the truth, trying to defend him, having to watch his execution, putting trust in someone so unworthy of it...there's too many reasons to think about. Even being his friend in that place, seeing past the first impression.]
no subject
If you truly believe that you owe me something, then repay me by teaching me how to fight. Once I can properly defend myself, I can defend others as well!

[He slaps Ishimaru on the back, grinning. This is actually going to be good, just like old times, however short it was.]
no subject
Of course! And soon, I will even surpass you!
no subject
[Oops not thinking about the implications after what he said earlier-]
no subject
THIS GUY.
But he's got to be joking, right? He wouldn't do that. Again. Even if he's done it once before and did just say it was possible he would have killed Ishimaru too. HA... HA... This joke isn't funny at all...]
U...uuu...
no subject
[He jumps a bit, what are you making that face for, aniki?! You're scaring him!]

no subject
['except the times I killed my brother and Fujisaki by accident', that is.]
Don't give me that, you of all people know I ain't that kind of guy!
no subject
[DOES HE. DOES HE REALLY.]
I still want you to swear it out loud!
no subject
Already had to promise Fujisaki that. So sure, you got my word. Not gonna kill anybody for any reason.
no subject
I'll hold you to that! Of course, I know there's no reason to worry.
[And then it was the worst foreshadowing ever.]
no subject
See? Would've thought you'd be trusting me too much, really.
[You know, after the whole...trial thing.]
