[Kidou didn't really expect anything when Sakuma asked him to come to the media room this evening. Just a friend wanting to hang out, right?

However, when he walked in he was greeted with what looked like a party. A party for him. Now, why would anyone want to throw Kidou a party???




Oh. Right. It was his birthday today, wasn't it? Don't mind him just standing in the doorway looking kind of like a deer in headlights.


He... hasn't had a birthday party in years ok.]

[Sakuma's standing just behind Kidou at the door to the media room, smiling slightly. He's incredibly glad that everything came together well so that his initial idea of a small get together turned into an actual party with the help of the people they got to know in the tower.]

Happy birthday, Kidou.

[Slowly, he turns his head around to look at Sakuma, obviously still shocked.]

...did you set this up, Sakuma?

[His question receives a chuckle.]

Sort of. I had a lot of help though.

[He offers Sakuma a smile.]

You guys didn't have to throw a party...

[He shrugs.]

After everything that's been happening lately, I guess it was needed.

[Besides, 'party' kind of just happened whether he planned it or not.]

Well... thank you, Sakuma.

[chainsawn]

[ ... Oh man, it's an actual party. It's been so long (read: practically forever) since Urotsuki has been on a real party that wasn't some formal grown ups one.. but of course it's Kidou's birthday party, so of course she'd be there, it wasn't even a question.

So Urotsuki is there too, even if she's looking a little plain as usually. But she's carrying a small box she managed to find since she had to bring the boy a present. She's looking around for a bit, but once she spots Kidou walking in she quickly walks over with a smile. ]

Happy birthday, Yuuto.

[pengeen]

[He offers Urotsuki a smile.]

Thank you. [And then he notices the small box in her hands.]


...you didn't have to bring a present, Urotsuki.

[chainsawn]

But it's your birthday, isn't it? [ she frowns briefly as she looks at the box before looking back at him. ] You're supposed to get presents on your birthday. Even here in this place.. it's important.

[He stares at her for a moment before smiling again.]

I would have been happy even if you came without a gift...

[chainsawn]

... But.. it's better with a gift, right?

[ At that she nods, holding it out as if telling him to take the box. ]

Then you can have both me and your gift for your birthday. It's a double present..

[pengeen]

[He takes the box and stares at it for a moment.]

Thank you, Urotsuki. [And then he hesitantly leans forward and gives her a small kiss on the cheek.]

[chainsawn]

[ .. Ah. At that her face definitely turns a little red, and she stares at him in surprise as if he suddenly grew an extra arm or something.. but then slowly but surely it melts down into a small - almost timid, in fact - smile. ]

Thank you.. [ for the cheek kiss, probably. ]

[pengeen]

[There's a small blush across his own face and he ends up staring at the floor.]

You don't have to thank me.

[chainsawn]

No, I'm.. glad. [ a nod. ] So I have to thank you.

[ She's still smiling, okay - apparently (despite the slight blankness in it even now) it's not going to leave her face anytime soon. ]

.. Come on, open up your present now.

[ Inside the box is.. well, it's supposed to be a carved statue of him, but what is using her chainsaw on actual wood. Instead it looks more like a blob, maybe it's vaguely recognizable that it has the shape of kidou's hairstyle just a little.. ]

[He does as she says and carefully takes out the little statue, tilting his head just slightly as he figures out what it's supposed to be...



But then he notices the shape of the figurine's hair and realizes it's supposed to be him, which gets him to smile again.]

Did you make this?

[chainsawn]

[ Good thing she doesn't even figure out he could hardly notice it at first, so she just smiles - a pretty proud one at that, she's almost about to puff out her chest in pride. ]

I did. All by myself.

[pengeen]

[She's so cute.....]

You did a really good job.

[chainsawn]

[ o-oh, now she can't help but blush a little.. ]

... You like it, Yuuto? I worked really hard on it, since I thought I should bring a present to your party..

[It had taken a bit, but she'd done the decorating, scrounging up enough bits of bright paper in the right colors, and even some balloons in black and white, which she'd taped together to look like a big soccer ball once they were all blown up and tied off. That was hanging down from one of the light fixtures.]

You don't have to thank me! It's what any good frond would do for anotter one. Besides, there are not nearly enough reasons to smile around here. A birthday is definitely one of them, so it's only right to go all out!
