☆ 001 : DEBUT ☆ "Apparently there is nothing that cannot happen today."
Characters: Rise (
idol_support) and YOU! :D
Setting: Starting in Room 2-01, then WHEREVER SHE HAS TO GO TO FIND HER FRIENDS, K (i.e. feel free to choose if you'd like!); morning of the 12th
Format: Posting with prosebecause I can't help it, sob; no preference for the comments, I will happily follow your lead!
Summary: Rise wakes up (in her Halloween costume, lol) and goes lookin' fortrouble her peeps!
Warnings: Uh...the usual Intro Post Semi-Ramble, and possible spoilers for the True End of Persona 4 (...does that even count any more...), but otherwise nothing so far!
It could have been worse. Waking up in a strange place and then experiencing a short period of sleep paralysis were far from Rise's idea of fun, but while it had been a little scary, she wasn't the type to let something like that get her down or frighten her into inaction; not any more. After all, she'd experienced things tons scarier than that since she'd moved to Inaba and gotten her Persona--it wasn't like it was the end of the world or anything!
...The end of the world...a terrible concept, and one that was vividly real to her now, but also less terrifying at the same time, all things considered. She'd read that your world has been destroyed letter, yeah, sure, but it wasn't the first totally B.S. letter left by some huge creep that Rise had seen this year. Plus she'd received enough iffy fanmail during her career as an idol to know that people could write whatever the heck they wanted, but that didn't make any of it true. She would have to see for herself that the world was destroyed before she'd even begin to believe it! There was really just no way it could be destroyed--she and Senpai and all their friends (but especially Senpai) had just saved it.
More than likely this was the TV World, and some jerk had kidnapped her (ugh, again! That was twice in one year! Twice!) and dumped her here. At least, that's what she'd thought at first...but this place just didn't feel right somehow. Not that the TV World had, but that had been a different sort of Not Right. This was...this was...augh, she didn't even know what this was! It had to be somewhere kinda like the TV World, though, another place that existed outside (or was it more like inside?) of the Real World, because she could summon Kanzeon here with no problem. That had been the first thing she'd done, in fact; the ceiling had looked a little low to try it here, but she had no idea where she was or what to expect when she went through the room's solitary door, and "kinda cramped quarters" was still better than "totally dangerous open area". Anyways, she could always do a more intensive scan later on, when she had a better idea of where she was and what was going on.
What she'd found on doing that initial scan had both reassured and confused her, because ooh, some of her friends were close by! ...But wait, there were a looot of people here, and it looked like there were more--way more--Persona users than just the Investigation Team, whatever that meant... She didn't know anything about them, so Rise couldn't get a solid feel on how many, or exactly where they were, but there were definitely others like them here.
Still, that wasn't the most pressing thing on her mind just now, because in addition to this being a super-weird place...there was also the costume.
Rise hadn't wanted to stay here in this room any longer than it took Kanzeon to run a quick scan of the place and give her a general heads up, but she'd still stopped long enough to change...or she'd tried to, anyway. The outfit she'd found herself wearing on waking up had to go.
It wasn't that she didn't look good in it, and she'd worn a lot less than that on national television, so it could've been way worse, but still! Whoever had kidnapped her this time was a real weirdo (and the idea that someone had changed her clothes while she was unconscious was creepy on a whole new level that Rise decided was best not to think about for now). Fortunately, among other things, she'd found some of her normal clothes in the storage trunk at the end of the bed (which, she'd been interested to note, Kanzeon's scan had designated a Treasure Chest). She'd felt a little unsure about changing when she didn't know whether or not there were any hidden cameras--an idol couldn't be too careful after all, even a former-but-hopefully-returning-to-showbiz-soon one--but she pushed that concern aside as well. Their school uniforms were essentially Full Battle Dress for the Investigation Team, and this place felt strange enough that Rise wanted that extra jolt of confidence from the familiar. That had led to a brief (and utterly hopeless) struggle with the weird collar around her neck (it fit snugly enough that she wasn't sure if she'd still be able to wear her usual white turtleneck), but no amount of tugging, pulling, or twisting could get it off, so she'd conceded defeat for now, and just left off wearing the turtleneck this time.
She'd had to concede defeat again just a few seconds later, when she found that the devil costume wouldn't come off, and then a third and final time when she tried wearing her uniform on top of the costume. It had been a little tricky, what with those wings and all, but she'd managed...only to find that somehow, when she'd briefly turned her attention back to the second (much longer) of those two letters she'd found on waking up, the devil costume had somehow ended up on top of her uniform. Which didn't make ANY sense, and looked a whole lot worse than just wearing the costume on its own had. Ugh! If that was how things were gonna be, then fine! She'd just wear the stupid costume already! She had more important things to worry about anyways--namely, finding her friends and figuring out what was going on here!
Getting the uniform off again was more of a struggle than getting it on had been, but she managed it eventually; by then, she was more than ready to get out of here.
"All right!" she said to herself--hearing the cheery sound of her own voice in her ears was oddly comforting. "Time to find everyone and figure this place out!"
Snatching up the two lettersand totally ignoring the plastic pumpkin and the attached note that had been sitting on her trunk, Rise headed out to face the Tower and (hopefully) find her friends.

"All right!" she said to herself--hearing the cheery sound of her own voice in her ears was oddly comforting. "Time to find everyone and figure this place out!"
Snatching up the two letters

Nuh-uh!
The grin left his face quite suddenly.
"Trust me, it wasn't all that fun. We still got to fight our own shadows, although in a different way than you guys did. Me and Hades were pretty pissed off by our other selves." Maybe it was best not to mention they had failed to save the world and were on their way rebooting it to ten years ago.
Probably for the best.
Then he was right back to smiling! I mean, as far as Gas Chamber was involved, everything made him smile. Knowing you'd broken into the industry in the future had certainly helped his morals which he desperately needed in the tower at times.
"Well...Ta-chan...I mean, Tatsuya and Jun are. Dunno who else is on the band, but that's the three of us." In other words, the head guitarist and keyboardist.
......Uhhhhh........h-how 'bout now....>_>;;;;;;;;;
"Right! I'll do my best to look out for you, too! I'm not much of a fighter, though--I play a supporting role on my team. Kanzeon's specialties are finding treasure chests, monsters, and people, and also scanning enemies in fights to figure out their weaknesses, so if there's ever any way I can help, just let me know, okay?"
Her own smile faded along with his as he mentioned fighting shadows, though she couldn't help but be a little curious, because...a fight's a fight, right? What other way is there? "Huh? 'A different way'? What do you mean?"
And when he brightened back up, Rise did the same then, too. Because yeah, talking about showbiz was definitely something that put a smile on her face these days--she really couldn't wait to go back! Or, well...at least, that had been the plan before she ended up here...but that didn't mean she shouldn't keep up her voice training or practise putting on shows whenever she got the chance! Speaking of which--
"Hey, have you done any shows here? Even if you don't have your instruments from home, I bet you could borrow some from that music room floor--um, Floor Twenty-Eight! And I bet we could do a pretty good job setting up that media room for a concert." She flashed him a grin and a victory sign. "If the creeps who kidnapped us are gonna be watching us anyway, we might as well give 'em a show they won't forget!"
lol oh Rise why are you giving him ideasIt's all good.
"Well for one, our Shadows used our Personas against us. That cheap knockoff even took Hades signature attack and turned it into a mockery! Who the hell names any attack 'Bloody Divorce'?"
Answer: Whoever named his attack Blood Honeymoon. He then shook his head with a shrug.
"We won, of course, and he got right back into me. Hades became stronger out of it. Still...it was completely different when that Izanami bitch excuse the language covered the tower in fog for a while. Tch! That still pisses me off." He pouted for a few seconds. Long enough for them to go right back into showbiz. A business that he wouldn't get to actually touch for a few years, but he knew he'd be good in.
"We practice there actually! I staged a concert a few months ago; a party for a dear friend who isn't here anymore..." There was a grin that spread to his face at the memory of it instead of sadness. Back when Lisa, Maya and...Miyabi were still there....oh and also...
"Actually babe, I need to tell you about the time the three of us threatened Adachi on being nice that night. Tachan called him a piece of shit man-baby." It was pretty great. He had to stop himself from laughing too loudly. "Don't worry, he's also gone from the tower too."
But that did get the creative juice flowing! Suddenly, he pumped his hand into the air.
"Hell, I agree! We do need to stage another concert! Maybe something in December to raise up everyone's spirits close to Christmas! Although I'm sure you'll want to spend the evening with Yu for the actual date itself..." Eikichi no stop that. He didn't wait for a reason, and stroked his chin, a monumental step forward for himself even if he didn't realize it at the time. "Alright, let's do it! If you're interested, Michel won't be the only singer in Gas Chamber Tower Edition anymore!"
He'd never willingly shared the spotlight before. It was a change brought on not only by his own adventures, but those around him in the tower itself. Somewhere, hell was probably freezing over.
<333
Rise gave a playful little pout when he mentioned already having given a concert. "Aww, I wish I could've been here for that show!" And she wasn't quite sure if she should ask about this missing friend, but what Eikichi said about Adachi caught her attention and saved her from having to decide either way. Her eyes went wiiiiiiide...then she broke down into some hardcore giggles. "You're right, you really do need to tell me that story! 'Cause that is amazing!" Leave it to often largely-silent (or so he'd seemed in the interviews and such she'd seen posted online, in the few minutes here and there she'd found to look at things about other performers) Tatsuya Suou to say just the right thing at just the right time! That description fit Adachi perfectly, too, the sleazy jerk! And she was pretty certain that she and Kanzeon would've picked up on it if someone like him was here in the Tower, but it was still a relief to know for sure that Adachi was gone.
Rise went a little red when he mentioned being alone with Yu for Christmas Eve because...well, because of what had happened last Christmas Eve, when they had been alone together. It was a good memory, one of her most treasured ones, but she still couldn't help blushing when she thought about it. But no, focus on the concert idea, not that memory of being alone with Yu like that...and anyway...
"It--it would be nice to be alone with him on Christmas Eve night, but there's no way I could ask that of him this year. His cousin, who's like a little sister to him, is here, so...even thinking of leaving her all alone would be way too selfish, even for me." Of course, Nanako-chan was pretty young still, so maybe they'd have some time alone after she went to bed...but then again, considering the way the rooms were set up, there was zero privacy anywhere, really, nowhere to find even a totally innocent quiet moment alone, much less...
.....The concert! Think of the concert, not anything else, focus!
Which was pretty easy to do a second later, when Eikichi Mishina kinda asked her to join Gas Chamber. He really sorta had hadn't he? And sure, she knew that they weren't the exact same polished, professional group from her time, that their sound will be rougher and a lot more like their first demo tapes and such, but honestly, she hasn't really listened to much of their stuff from their earlier days; she's much more a fan of their current sound, but...still. It was nothing short of an incredible offer, and Rise leapt at it without any doubts whatsoever.
"Heck yeah! Oh man, I'd love to! There's no way I could say no to that...um, Michel-sama?" That last bit, the way she spoke his (stage) name, was clearly a question, Rise's way of asking him if it was okay for her to call him that, or...if he'd rather something else.
It's definitely what she would've called him if she'd met the Eikichi from her time back on their world, buuuut he's a little different here, and things are decidedly more casual and less professional than a meeting back home would've been, so he might prefer something else.Rise was more or less used to being the solo star at her concerts too, but she didn't have any problem whatsoever with the idea of sharing this particular prospective spotlight. In any case, she'd gotten used to being part of a team over the past few months, and knew by now that playing backup was an important role, too. Getting to be part of the main attraction again would be a welcome change--or rather, a return to the norm for her.
