What is this Halloween nonsense?

Characters: Tetra and all of you!
Setting: Oct. 12 all over the tower (you pick)
Format: Starting with prose but will switch :)
Summary: Collecting candy and complaining about being dressed as the Hero of Time.
Warnings: None yet but that might change ~~because Ganon is a jerk face~~

"Collect candy or else, blah blah blah. This is so dumb. And this costume is dumb. And too hot." Are the most common complaints that can be heard from the small blonde pirate who is dressed, not as a pirate or a princess, but in a warm green costume with tights and a belt. She's even got the hat but her hair is hanging down her back. It would probably look really dumb if she had her hair in a bun with the cap.

So she's wandering around and looking for candy, climbing things and crawling under anything including trees and tables, respectively. And maybe stopping for a break to eat some pumpkin pie.

Back on the Great Sea, Tetra wouldn't have been surprised if a tree had attacked her. Ganon had turned animals mean and put bokoblins and other nasty things on the islands and the sea too. She had to try though.

Following Tohko's instructions, Tetra tried to climb. A couple times she slipped and almost fell but she was able to grab onto something and pull herself up. Her lack of experience is obvious but hey! She didn't fall and kill herself and she eventually joins Tohko near the top.

"That wasn't too bad."

Tohko grinned at Tetra when she finally got to the top of the tree. "Nope. You see, it's not that hard. A bit of practice, and you'll get the hang of it." Tohko then scanned the trees and the area below for any treasure. "See anything?"

"Got plenty of time to practice. Nothin' but time."

She takes a hold of another branch and stands, looking around as far as she could until she spotted a birds nest in a nearby tree. They could probably jump over to it but she wasn't sure it was worth the risk when they could just climb down and back up the other.

"I see a bird nest. That might have some candy in it!"

"Ah! You're right! I see it too!" Tohko, who was okay at climbing trees, but not jumping from them, carefully climbed down, ran to the other tree, and started climbing it.

Tetra climbed down more slowly, and carefully, unlike Tohko. She wasn't in any rush right now, no one else had spotted it so they had time to get over there. By the time Tohko would be half way up that tree, Tetra is only just reaches halfway down the other.

Climbing down is a lot harder than up, she's learning.

Tohko looked back to see how Tetra was doing and chuckled a little. She was halfway up the tree, but she waited for Tetra to climb all the way down. Tetra was discovering that going down was a lot harder than going up.

"Don't worry! You'll get the hang of it eventually!" Tohko cried.

"I don't think I'll be doin' alotta tree climbin' anytime after this. It's hard and a pirate does better on the sea than in trees."

Finally down to the bottom, Tetra take a minutes to catch her breath and get her legs to stop feeling wobbly before running over to the other tree and starting her trek up.

"That's true..but it's good that you're getting some practice! After all, if an enemy decides to hide treasure up a really tall tree, you'll be able to get it now!"

Tohko held out a hand to Tetra, hoping to pull the other girl up a few feet.

That hand? Tetra is gladly taking a hold of it and letting herself be pulled up to Tohko's level on the tree. Sure it could be useful eventually but goddesses was this hard.

"I guess it'll come in handy someday."

Tohko managed to pull Tetra up to her level. "It probably will be. Now, let's see what's in this birds nest!" Tohko kept climbing until she was at the nest and then waited for Tetra.

Tetra climbed up after her, going a bit more quickly than when she had first started climbing the other tree. Hand over hand, the costumed pirate reaches her a few minutes after her and sits on a branch.

"Anything good in there?"

Tohko peeked into the birds nest, and, feeling a bit puzzled, pulled out three candies and a red glass heart. "This. The candies are nice..and the heart is rather cute. I'm not sure how I could wear it or use it though. Do you want it?" Tohko asked.

"Sure, you take two'a the candies then! I'll make a necklace from the heart and give it to Zelda. She looks sad sometimes so this'll cheer her up, I'm sure!" Her ancestor was obviously important to her if she's willing to give up even a small treasure like that.

"Alright then! Hopefully that'll make her feel better. Why does she look sad sometimes?"

"I dunno, she just sometimes gets this sad look. This place is pretty terrible sometimes though so I'm not surprised she gets sad. And since she's family, I gotta make sure she cheers up! Princesses are supposed to be happy after all, right?"

That's what Tetra had always though anyway, back when he mom had told her stories all about Hyrule. Granted, Zelda's story wasn't the happiest one but it ended well!

"That's true..it's not like this place is a peaceful, warm library." Tohko nodded. "And yeah, it's usually good to try and cheer a family member up! And princesses in the stories are usually happy, and if they're not happy in the beginning, they usually become happy at the end." Tohko thought back to her father for a moment and sighed happily. "By the way, how is Zelda related to you? Is she your sister?"

"Maybe you should ask her what's bothering her the next time she's feeling sad?"

"Oh! She's my great great grandmother, I think. Some kinda grandmother anyway. Her picture was in Hyrule castle when I was there."

It was mostly Tetra's fault that, whenever Tetra saw her, she looked worried or upset. Having such a reckless descendant apparently tended to worry a person. Who would have guessed?

"I'm definitely gonna. That way I can make sure whoever is buggin' her stops."

That would be you, Tetra...

"Ah, alright then! Hopefully she's a nice grandmother." A grandmother, huh? Tohko had never had a grandmother, but she had read about them in stories. They were usually kind, gentle people, with their grandchildren's best interests at heart. They would defend them from anything and give great advice.

Tohko smiled. "Alright then. Hopefully you'll be able to fix up the problem..and if you need my help, just let me know!"

"Oh yeah, she's great!" Tetra hadn't even known about her ancestors or heritage until Link and King Daphnes took her under the sea. Heck, she'd only ever heard stories about Hyrule before her mother died.

"I will. Maybe we can find out her birthday and give her a party someday."

"That's good." Tohko nodded. "And that would be fun! You should ask her sometime. I've never baked before, but I wouldn't mind making the cake." Of course..that cake might not taste good..but it wouldn't be that noticeable by Tohko if it was. After all, her taste buds were odd.

"I never baked before either. I made the crew do all'a the cookin' on my ship." Tetra's attempts at cooking always ended up disastrous. So it was decided before she even met Link that she wouldn't do any cooking or baking.

"Oh..does that mean that you're the captain of your ship? What sort of ship was it? A pirate ship?" Tohko had read a few sea stories, but she always enjoyed reading about the pirates. A sea story without some swashbucklers usually didn't have the kick that other stories had.

"Yep, I am! My mom was captain and when she died, she left the ship to me. My crew just decided to stick around for me. My mom probably asked 'em to though." Stories were nothing, really, compared to actually being a pirate and sailing the sea. The smell of salty sea air every morning was the most refreshing thing in the world, to Tetra.

"You ever sailed before?"

"Oh..sorry to hear about your mom..but it's great that the crew is still sticking around. Even if they're just following orders, it's nice that you have someone on board. At least, that's what I think." Tohko chuckled nervously.

"I haven't..but I've read about pirates! Jas. Hook, and Billy Bones, and Captain Anton were some of my favorites." Tohko also liked The Dread Pirate Roberts, but she wasn't quite sure if that could count, as it was more a title than an actual name. She shrugged to herself. "What sort of adventures have you had on your ship?!"

"Nah, it's fine. It was years ago. They're a great crew though, definitely loyal. Kinda dumb sometimes but that's why I'm captain."

She doesn't look at all bothered about mentioning her moms death. Sure, she misses her sometimes but it doesn't hurt because she still had a portrait of her mother and her map of the Great Sea.

"Never heard of 'em but I guess that's normal since we're from different worlds. I got a bottle'a sea water in my trunk. I'll uncork it for you one'a these days."
