[Awakening in the Tower only startled Feferi for perhaps... a moment. In fact, upon reading the note she was left, she breathed a heavy sigh of almost relief. Her home was gone, destroyed, and with it the caste system, her lusus, all her duties and responsibilities....

It was time to explore!

She checked through her chest with delight, attaching her sylladex and strife specibus, decorating her odd squishy sleeping area with blankets and pillows from home, along with several adorable plushies from who knows where, setting her aquarium on top of the chest only to stop....
And realize she wasn't underwater.
She was on land.
Dry.
Land.
Newly invigorated and excited, Feferi burst out of her room, practically dancing with joy, colorful skirts swirling around her.
It was a whole new world, and it was all within her grasp!]

[What with this whole Tower business, it's not really too far-fetched of a concept. Not to mention, she'd always kind of felt there was another Feferi out there somewhere, free to live her life as she chose while she was home taking care of her lusus...]

[She loosens her grip so his hands would slip out of hers, clasping them in front of her when he was fully disengaged.]

[This wasn't quite how she imagined her first meeting with Sollux (He'd dramatically swoop her away from all her horrible empress responsibilities and they'd live happily together on the surface forever and Eridan would be left forevver alone because he was really hard to watch after all the time), but she wouldn't complain. Just getting to see him was amazing in and of itself.]

Sure, uh. [He's still not really sure what's different] I guethh it might be thimilar to yourth. Did we talk on trollian before?

[She averts her eyes a little, frowning.]

[Gosh, why does he feel like he's letting a girl down easy? He shifts a little closer, touching her cheek.]

[And now she's really averting her eyes, hand reaching up to fiddle with a lock of her hair.
She knew what that meant.
And she supposed she should've seen this coming, what with the alternate universe business.
The things she shared, the dreams they discussed, the feelings she had weren't for this Sollux. It was for her Sollux, one she could very well never see again.
This Sollux had Aradia.]

[Fuck, he feels so bad. Not that he would tell Aradia no. She was his matesprit first, and his feelings for Feferi are only in their infancy, birthing while he grieved for Aradia. But he feels really awful for putting that look on her face.]

I'm thorry... FF, you are tho important to me. I can't even tell you how grateful I am that you even want to be my friend. You've been tho good to me, and helped me tho much.
