[Death paralysis sucked. The last thing she knew was she was being crushed by her costume, and now she was staring at the ceiling, unable to move. Minutes pass, making her more and more angry and scared. Ten minutes finally pass, and she wrenched herself out of her bed as soon as she could, stumbling to the hallway with a strange weight on her chest and throat. Catarina looked around, her mouth curled in a strange scared angry snarl, trying to find a face she recognized]

[ Since this latest event began, Haldir has been on edge. With nearly a third of the population within the tower succumbing to death, the Elf found himself becoming increasingly dissatisfied with his stay in Animus. It was heartbreaking to see so many suffer like this all for the sake of the Administrators enjoyment.

Eager to retire from the remainder of today, Haldir wandered back towards the dormitories only to spot a bizarrely dressed woman stumble out of nowhere. Just about to offer his assistance, the march warden came to a sudden halt once he realized that something metallic was lodged through her throat.

It was then that his eyes grew large. ]

[ The march warden took a step back once the woman snarled at him. Her ghastly appearance was enough to churn his stomach. While such cruelty isn't uncommon in Middle-earth, Haldir hadn't expected to stumble upon such wickedness here and now.

Just what in the world happened to this woman? ]

H-How can you still draw breath?

[ Is this woman some sort of malevolent spirit coming to haunt? She has to be since no normal human could possibly survive such violence. ]

[ The Elf took another step back once she began to finger the faucet there. He wasn't quite sure what kind of ghastly horrors await for him, but Haldir isn't very keen about finding out.

Now fingering the sheathed blade Lenneth gave to him weeks ago, the march warden eyes the succubus with a look of disdain. ]

Go no further if you value yourself.

(ooc: I'll probably go for a few burns here and there, but let Catarina definitely destroy his fancy sword. )

[ Haldir had hoped that the succubus would've kept her distance, but alas things never go as planned. She seemed to be unarmed, but that doesn't reassure him enough to sheathe his sword. The blade Lenneth given to him was one that was blessed with the Art of Creation. It wasn't an ordinary sword, but most of its magic remained untapped. This very fact might go in Catarina's favor, but it certainly goes against his. ]

Stay back!

[ The march warden yelled once he unsheathed the Glance Reviver. Taking a quick swipe at her, Haldir soon fell to the floor with Catarina on top of him. She was pelting him with her fists repeatedly, but soon she would find herself knocked back by a harsh kick. ]

Wherever your sanity has fled, you shall miss regret losing it!

[ He says as he quickly stands. ]

[ The Elf didn't know what to expect once a strange liquid began to drench everything. However, it didn't take long to see what the effects were. Quick to bring up his blade in his defense, a gasp of surprise came from him once the sword began to melt. Slithers of metal slid down from the tip of the blade, and towards its ornament hilt in silver streams. ]

How can this be...?

[ Allowing his shock to claim the better of him, Haldir let out a sharp scream once some of the liquid metal burned his fingertips. Forced to quickly drop his sword, Haldir held his burned had to his chest. ]

[ The hilt of the Glance Reviver chattered loudly against the floor after having slipped through Haldir's fingers. No words were spoken as he eyed the melted blade with a look of pure regret. Not too long ago, Lenneth gave him this blade as a prize for his valor during Aelia's time of need. Yet now the fabled sword lays there in shambles all thanks to his recklessness.

Uncertain as of how this fiend managed to destroy Lenneth's gift, Haldir glances back at Catarina with a look of pure despair. ]

How could you...!

[ His concern for the Glance Reviver outweighs his concern for himself. At this point, facing death a second time would be more merciful than to face Lenneth again. How can he possibly face her again after disgracing her legacy?

The answer is, he cannot. ]

[ Gazing at the woman in horror, Haldir finds himself gripped by a fear he couldn't control. What is he suppose to do now? There's absolutely no way he could battle her without a sword or two. Even so, his blades would merely melt if he were to try.

Finding the situation to be utterly hopeless, the march warden did only one thing he could do.

He fled.

As much as he would like to bash the demon's head in with the melted hilt of Lenneth's blade, the elf knew that would be a fool's errand. This demon couldn't be defeated, at least not by him. Fearing that his life would be forfeit, Haldir quickly dashed towards the nearby flight of stairs.

Maybe he could lose her in all this chaos...]

[ It was difficult enough to move while dressed in these damnable robes, but Haldir refused to halt now. The witch was on his heels, and she was gaining speed. Rushing up the stairs with great effort, Haldir kept climbing until he reached the 13th floor.

Rushing inside of the cathedral as quickly as possible, Haldir made haste to bar the door with a nearby table. He knew this wouldn't be enough to deter the witch, especially since she seemed to crave nothing more than his flesh.

Now scurrying in search of a suitable hiding spot, Haldir literally climbed up the side of nearby pillar to hide within the rafters above. The wooden beams beneath his feet creaked slightly from the stress of his weight, but they didn't give. ]

[ A gasp nearly tore from him once the demon waltzed inside. He hadn't expected her to keep up with him, but luck seemed to be against him. Crouched low amongst the rafters, Haldir watched in silence as the witch suffered from her burns. Something about this holy place of worship repels the beast from entering further. ]

She can't get to me...

[ A thought that shouldn't have been spoken aloud. ]

[ His eyes widened with fright once the fiend charged towards him. In hopes of getting away, Haldir sought to climb higher along the rafters. While such a thought was indeed quite smart since he doubted she could climb as well as he, Haldir accidentally slipped and went crashing into the pews below.

A smog of dust rose when he landed, followed by the terrible coughing of her wounded prey. Blood dripped along the side of his temples, and down his lips. Even his hands were coated with blood, some of the wounds caused from their earlier skirmish.

Laying there broken and injured, Haldir swore he couldn't feel his limbs. ]

*It was going to be a simple matter. Get breakfast, spend as much time as he could in aquarium.

He was not expecting to run into a sight like that. Catarina will find a rather...bright person staring at her in horror.*

Your costume...I'm sorry...

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2012-10-24 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
Well when she made a move to attack him, Enoch reacted in self-defense, quickly hopping backwards, aided by his wings. The Arch came out, and opened with a crackle of holy energy. A surge of anger ran through him, and it was all he could do to hold it back.

"Stop! Are you aware of yourself?"

...Asked the man who knew his own was going to fail him sooner rather than later.

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2012-10-25 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
The Arch's beam was all that contained such energy, and, naturally, it being energy, the acid couldn't dissolve it. The swing of the beam did, unfortunately, carry the liquid that came its way up with it, to spatter over the lower half of his face and jaw.

With an immediate hiss of pain, a hand comes up to cover the new wound. He staggers back for a moment before rushing forward, leaping high into the air to get out of her spray range, and twisting to try landing a blow from the Arch from behind. At this point, though right now the costume's hold had temporarily won, everything in his approach to this was self-defense.

An angel that technically wasn't an angel, even. Enoch stared at her from his place, the acid still burning painfully against his skin. He was lucky it was only a splatter and not a stream.

It was a shower. The only way to dodge it would be...either over it or under it. Enoch ran at her, Arch out, and just as it seemed he was about to strike, stopped and skidded low to slide past her, holding the blades out and hoping to catch her leg in the pass.

[Oh my god what the fuck holy shit.]

[Which was a coarse way of saying Labrys' analysis was very, very confused. Human? Shadow? Android? Her sensors were going crazy, detecting metal as well as a humanoid body and god only knew what else.]
