but everyone should know
Characters: Fenris (
freewolfmoon) and OPEN.
Setting: Earlier today in and around room 2-04 in the dormitories.
Format: Whichever!
Summary: Fenris wakes up after arriving. He isn't happy.
Warnings: Nothing so far.
He doesn't know how long he sits awkwardly curled on the bed, his fingers curled around the collar on his neck, emotion he still, after all this time, doesn't understand how to deal with running high through him. It's an effort to read the letter: part of him is insisting he should forget he even knows how to read in the first place, accept the return of his old fate. The past nine years were a pleasant dream, but they're over. Hawke isn't here to defend him. He should...
He shouldn't be thinking that way. He knows better, now.
Fenris reads the letter, checks the trunk at the foot of the bed (his armor, good; this joke of a sword, not even four feet long, that he was either going to sell or give to Aveline for a laugh, not good), and grimly strips out of the strange white thing to change into his rediscovered armor. Then he slams open the door and strides out into the hallway.
His voice, raised not quite to a yell, echoes with level, seething calm down the halls. "You collar me and ask me to be happy. The days when I would have obeyed you are long over."
He lifts the sword, and when he speaks again, some of the calm is starting to seep out of his voice. "Vishante kaffar. Come at me and fight, if you wish to take me!"

...has something been done to your memory?
no subject
... I don't think so...

Qunari who call themselves trolls and know nothing of the Qun. Collars that won't--
[The markings on his skin abruptly light up with blue-white luminosity which rapidly centers on his throat, turning his entire neck ghostly white. He grabs the collar and pulls roughly, as if expecting it to tear right off. It does not.]
That won't come off.
[He paces a few steps.]
What is this place?
no subject
It's the, err, tower, and it's where people seem to go when their universe ends, or something like that. I don't really know why the collars are there, though-- [He points at his own collar, blue filling the tubes.] but I have one too.
no subject
...I apologize. I seek no fight with you.
"The tower." Descriptive. And they tell us to "be happy here."
[He just barely catches himself before sneering. Right. Trying not to terrify the kid.]
no subject
It's not really that bad, at all. There's a lot to do, and, they make sure we have food and everything.
no subject
You know no better.
[His voice is weary, grim. It's the only explanation he knows that fits Tavros's resignation. It's his explanation.]
What's your name?
no subject
... I'm Tavros.
no subject
I'm called Fenris. And where are those who would claim to be our masters?
[For all his attempts at not scaring Tavros again, he can't quite keep the contempt and loathing out of his voice at that.]

If you're part of some kind of trick, it must be a very elaborate one.
no subject
I don't think I am part of a trick or anything like that. At least, I don't think I am, but I think someone would have told me if, err, this were an elaborate trick of some kind.
no subject
Yes, that's what I was saying.
Where are those who would call themselves our masters? They're the ones I intend to turn my blade on.

no subject
Then what do they intend to do with us, if they don't show themselves?
no subject
I'm not really sure, to be honest. But-- there were things that happened that they seemed to cause.
no subject
Of course. If they would attempt to enslave us, they must do some things...

Then they are mages, if they summoned shades. No surprises there.
no subject
I didn't know that, um, that was what mages did.

no subject
I guess that is good to know, uh, if they are mages like that, I mean.
