but everyone should know
Characters: Fenris (
freewolfmoon) and OPEN.
Setting: Earlier today in and around room 2-04 in the dormitories.
Format: Whichever!
Summary: Fenris wakes up after arriving. He isn't happy.
Warnings: Nothing so far.
He doesn't know how long he sits awkwardly curled on the bed, his fingers curled around the collar on his neck, emotion he still, after all this time, doesn't understand how to deal with running high through him. It's an effort to read the letter: part of him is insisting he should forget he even knows how to read in the first place, accept the return of his old fate. The past nine years were a pleasant dream, but they're over. Hawke isn't here to defend him. He should...
He shouldn't be thinking that way. He knows better, now.
Fenris reads the letter, checks the trunk at the foot of the bed (his armor, good; this joke of a sword, not even four feet long, that he was either going to sell or give to Aveline for a laugh, not good), and grimly strips out of the strange white thing to change into his rediscovered armor. Then he slams open the door and strides out into the hallway.
His voice, raised not quite to a yell, echoes with level, seething calm down the halls. "You collar me and ask me to be happy. The days when I would have obeyed you are long over."
He lifts the sword, and when he speaks again, some of the calm is starting to seep out of his voice. "Vishante kaffar. Come at me and fight, if you wish to take me!"

... Uh. I don't really want to fight you.

Shanedan, imekari. They have taken you as well?
no subject
Yeah. It's, um, not so bad here, most of the time. Usually. [Unless there are phantoms chasing him down the stairs and killing him and stuff.]
no subject
You'd allow this? How long have they had you?
no subject
[He's still cautious, of course. Tavros doesn't know what to think of Fenris right now.]
no subject
Are your people in charge here?
[But he's shaking his head.]
This madness seems little like them.

"I'd rather stand here and not be impaled," she spoke, at least having enough energy to be a smart retort. "Judging by the blind threat, you are new here as well I take it?"

"At least you aren't a mindless killer," she muttered, taking a deep breath to calm her nerves.

Fenris took a breath and steadied himself again. "Nor will I raise my sword against another here against their will. Do you know where we are?"
no subject
"Unfortunately, I have not found a name for this realm. I do know...that everyone here who came from another world, their world is gone."
no subject
"Unlikely--" He paused, then, and stopped himself as some thought occurred to him. "But just possible."

This is deeeefinitely not the droid you're looking for.
I come in peace.
no subject
You've little choice but to come in peace. They've taken you as well.
[ But there's something about what she said that bothers him... ]
"Droid"?
no subject
I'm Stephanie Brown, but you can call me Steph.
no subject
Culture that goes pop...? No, I won't ask.
[He gives a slight nod.]
Fenris. How is it that we walk freely and have weapons, if we are at the mercy of our captors here?

He looks down.
Oh.
Wait, what?
"You're very soft-spoken for a demon," he says suspiciously.
no subject
"I-I'm not a demon sir."
no subject
He lowers his sword, but only slightly, because he is clearly speaking to a demon.
no subject
"I-I'm just a pony...A pegasus pony."
