Characters:
Dark Rin & YOU.
Setting: Floor 48
Time: November 9
Format: Quick to start, will match
Summary: The tower taunts Rin when she's already in a poor mood.
Warnings: Characters are likely to be endangered if they provoke her.
►►► FLOOR 48;
[ Rin knew the moment he was taken from her. Any Master can feel the bond ripped from them and if that wasn't enough indication, the Command Seals along her flesh went dormant. In fact it was the hand she found herself gazing upon in the graveyard, sitting on a freshly dug (up?) patch of dity, the formerly vibrant red seals now barely seen against her pale skin. If that wasn't evident enough, then the stone marker with the name L A N C E R was indication enough of who she lost. Rin's never had anyone in her life, so for the brief time she held a Servant was the most social interaction she's ever had.
Losing him stung more than she's willing to let on.
For those brave enough to seek her out, they might feel a more ominous presence in the air around them. Yes, she's vulnerable without a Servant, but in no way is she weak. Willing to advertise that much, she hopes it's enough to keep people away.
Later on the evening, even if she's left, Rin will return to this place not to mourn. No, she'll wait around as though expecting him to return. For all of those jokes she often cracked about him being a puppy, it was her that will wait patiently for him to come pick her up. ]

[ That hostile air around her directs it's full attention on Lancer as she stares towards him coldly. ]
I know it's typical of a dog to dig to bury a bone, but it's unlike one to dig that same bone up when someone is around to see. Don't you think?

Look, it says Lancer, so it should be my grave. And this spear? It's the closest thing I have to a shovel.
[Just in case she still thought he wanted to kill her.]
Anyway, if I dug this thing up, the worst thing we'd see is my corpse, which I'm pretty sure is already nothing but bones.
[She was the one who had asked the questions. He was just trying to help satisfy her curiosity.]

[ Faceplanting at the sight. ] It was clearly made for my Servant. Haven't you noticed a lack of a Servant presence around me?
So this might be a good time to try to stick that thing to me, but I'll warn you that this time--[ 'I have a purpose to live.' ]--I won't restrain myself.
no subject
Why?
[That other Lancer had failed to protect her during Halloween as well.]
Why did he leave or die or whatever when he still had a Master to protect?
[His question is tinged with anger and disgust. He glares at the grave, wondering if he should tear it apart after all. But Rin, apparently, carried some lingering affection for her Servant despite his incompetence.]
Any Servant would glad to get a good Master. So...he should've protected you better.

[ There's no point on commenting on the good Master bit. Rin's an excellent Master, prana-wise, but when it came down to strategy or even making the right call... that was where she fails. ]

[Knowing that Rin's Servant hadn't left willingly makes him feel just a little better, but he was still gonna have words with the guy if he ever came back.]
So, have you spoken to Ruler yet? I know most of the Servants in this tower don't wanna fight, but maybe there's gonna be those who try to pick off a defenseless Master. Or hell, there's even gonna be someone who makes the same mistake I did in thinking you're a zombie or something.
[If he didn't have to stick by Ayaka, he'd offer to help her. Oh, who was he kidding. He's gonna offer anyway because he was always fond of making irrational promises.]
And...if you don't mind, maybe I can drop by and check on you every once in a while. Would be a way to make up for what I did during our first meeting.

[ Rin's quite vocal about her dislike of Ruler; for one, she's trying to help those to her that should rely on her, therefore making her useless and for another, she is claiming to be an overseer of everyone here. It bothers her really. Someone that arrogant should be taught a lesson.
Burned to death preferably. Rin does like the smell of sulfur in the air. ]
Besides, I don't need any help. If someone comes for me, I'll torture them while I find their Master. Then I'll kill their Master, take their seals for myself, and then force the Servant to torture themselves. Honestly, telling someone like me to seek sanctuary.
It's an insult really.
[ She's trying so hard to be Big 'n' Tough and it shows with how awkward her brows narrow down with each of her words. She doesn't know how to be intimidating even if she wants desperately to be. ]
no subject
Look, Misa--
[He blinks, and has to take a moment to remind himself that this is in fact Rin and not Misaya.]
--Rin. Can't you think of it as a strategy? Someone once told me even the cover of sanctuary could be an advantage.
[It was a strategy that he severely disliked. But if suggesting it might keep her from trying anything too stupid.]

[ She huffs up, still defiant about letting anyone in close to her. Especially if that person reminds her too much of the man she's lost. After so many nights spent with him, she doesn't want to sit here and think about another version of him providing her with aid.
It's an insult to the one that's left her, wasn't it? ] I can handle myself well enough. It's just... ugh, it's just that he believed in me. So I'm not going to go run and hide now that he's not here to help out.
no subject
[The real reason is that she reminds him of Misaya. Only now, the situations are reversed. The Master is the one who has been left behind.]
I'm sure that if he could see, he'd be touched at the sentiment. But if he ever comes back, I don't think he'd like to find out his Master was hurt or killed while he wasn't around.
no subject
You tried to kill me when you first met me and I'm sure the idea crossed your mind the rest of our encounters. As for him coming back, that's unlikely. I've never heard of anyone returning after they've left, you know.
[ A noticeable pause before she continues. ] I'm not going to wait around for him, either.
no subject
So are you really just gonna try that? Grabbing another Servant off of their Master?
[He would like to help her, but not with something so dishonest.]
no subject
[ A sigh follows shortly after. ] Although that's more trouble than I would like.
no subject
[He's not sure why he's apologizing. He already has a Master, and he's proud of that fact.]
Maybe if you're lucky you'll find a Servant who doesn't have a Contract yet. Or maybe you'll get volunteers.
no subject
[ Forcing a smile. ] Maybe that idiot will come back too. I've heard of that happening.

I wouldn't stop you, if that's what you're asking.

[Beating the other guy into submission counted as "convincing" in his book.]
Thanks.
